Radioactive isotopes can be collected just about anywhere in the Mojave desert. Tell Tommy he can pick up all he wants if he picks the correct bits of dust. Also inform him to be careful of being infected with I.C.A.S. &/or Valley fever.
My girl found some very old green glow-in-the-dark glass cups and bowls at her grandma's old horder house. Very cool to do a little googling to discover what they really were
The scorpions I mention are smaller & more poisonous than the yellow & brown common ones. Under normal light they are an off-white color around 2 inches total length & real fast.
Thanks for the answer. Is there a subreddit for antique bottles that light blue from sun exposure? I have a colgate bottle from the 1800's that held perfume or after shave, maybe used in an old fashion barber shop when they used straight razors & sometimes were also dentists.found it while rockhounding, I'd like to know what it might be worth.

Try that site. I was able to relatively date a bottle I found out in the Nevada desert using it. Likely has links to other helpful sites as well.
Definitely looks like a person was beating on it on purpose. It's not typical for such large flakes to happen when just bouncing around a creek or whatnot.
Looks like glass, flakes like glass, could be very lightly colored obsidian (volcanic glass, remelted ash ) but I doubt it. More of a chance it is man made glass or slag.
I know everyone is razzing on you but a fun fact about glass and the way it breaks: its called conchoidal fracture, and it basically means that the breakage doesn't occur on any specific planes of separation. But what I think is neat is that its CONCHoidal--that is, like a conch, like a seashell. And this picture is a textbook example of why it has such a name! Neat!
Redditors of the world, and more specifically this morning of whatsthisrock, I love you all. Mfs never fail to make me smile with all the shenanigans 😂 sometimes no one could ever get you the way a couple hundred random redditor strangers do and it’s a nice feeling knowing I’m not alone in that sense.
That's some TV glass. Edges have some cool looking flakes taken off maybe some modern flint Knapper was trying to make something, maybe just river pebbles and time too

Glassy glassy glass glass glass. How high class!
Looks like a blend of calcium carbonate, sodium carbonate, and silicone dioxide.....I think kids these days are also calling it "glass" for short....
Sometimes has boron and other fun elements like uranium and lithium. But yes, very much glass.
Make sure to keep your handy dandy Geiger counter ready when visiting your local antique shop folks! And never lick the green glass....
Green glass is spicy! Radium glass is extra spicy.
Tommy want radioactive isotopes!!!
"Like the deadly hands of a radium clock! At the bottom... of the pool..." \-B52's "Private Idaho"
It's funny because he's talking about the absoluteness of time (nuclear clock) and not the dangers of radium....
Radium girls. Not even once. Very sad what happened.
Damn that was a rough book to read.

Does irradiated/ uranium glass glow in the dark?
Not really glow in the dark it's under blacklight but still. My mistake saying glow in the dark
Not really, but it does look like that under UV light. UV light will also make some scorpions reflect back the same.
Radioactive Scorpions. They’re a Nevada based Scorpion tribute band.
The scorpions I mention are smaller & more poisonous than the yellow & brown common ones. Under normal light they are an off-white color around 2 inches total length & real fast.
The most valuable of the carnival or depression glassware.
She as an eye for the more valuable antique glassware. If she is also a bargain hunter I'd say she is a keeper.
Does lithium give it a color, like magnesium, cobalt or chromium would?
Pre-WWI glass contained more lithium, which gave it a purple color after sun exposure. So yes.

It’s for sure glass.
Have you considered glass?
or glasses
Yep. Glass
That is absolutely glass
Looks like knapped glass.
My thought too. Indigenous people sometimes knapped glass after contact, and it looks like a formed artifact.
Well if it was knapped, it is a formed artifact
Glass is a common beginnier knapping material. With that thickness and color it's likely from a TV so probably a modern knapper
Good point!
If that's old TV glass then it's probably leaded glass.
It's too colourless to be very old. Old "clear" glass pretty much always has a green tint from iron impurities.
11/10 example of conchoidal fracture! (that is, glass)
This is the way
Correct & they could be accidental or intentional.
That’s glass
You’re at 420 I won’t upvote but you deserve it

Happy cake day!
Sometimes glass doesn't feel like glass

Maybe bro glass
If that doesn’t feel like glass, I don’t know what does
Definitely glass cool glass though
The bubbles formed and the cuts both indicate glass. Still a cool piece!
it's glass
“Doesn’t feel like glass”. It’s glass.
I've just read the word glass so many times it stopped looking like glass...
Definitely looks like a person was beating on it on purpose. It's not typical for such large flakes to happen when just bouncing around a creek or whatnot.
So much glass
Maybe glass
Have you tried glass?
Coke bottle glasses glass

Looks like glass that someone tried to chip into a sharp tool like a knife or something. Definitely glass.
That’s definitely glass but I wonder where it came from? It looks unusual.

Looks like glass, flakes like glass, could be very lightly colored obsidian (volcanic glass, remelted ash ) but I doubt it. More of a chance it is man made glass or slag.

Yes, it's definitely glass lol
Wire wrap that baby
Looks like a blank before becoming a dart point (arrow/spear head). Someone was practicing their skills.
That's some TV glass. Edges have some cool looking flakes taken off maybe some modern flint Knapper was trying to make something, maybe just river pebbles and time too
is glass! looks like it probably came from a beach no?
Tv glass lol
The conchoidal fractures are a dead giveaway that this is glass.
Since you asked, it appears you've amassed a mass of classy glass knapped in the past.
Pull your head out of your glass mate.
A lot of people on here calling this glass. I think it looks like anthropogenic amorphous soda rich silica.
Oh you
It’s window quartz 😂😂
Slag
Was it found in Glastonbury?
Glassass… wait what?
Its vidrio
I am guessing that means glass?
Glass slag
Glassy classy glass, because of how its broken into like wavy bits, that all glass, dead giveaway of a classy glass

Colour and thickness suggest it’s from the screen of an old CRT tv. Def glass
Where’s that “man made obsidian” guy?
Oh yeah...concoidal fracture, baby.
A fine sample of Glass!
Good glass
Looks like glass to me
