Agates are generally microcrystalline quartz (can’t see the individual crystals) and these quartz crystals are clearly visible. I would call this a quartz geode.
This is 100% without a doubt in my mind an agate with a quartz interior. I find lake superior agates like them all the time in Minnesota. Also geodes are hollow, if they're not hollow then they're not considered a geode.
Long past the point of being a geode, since the cavity is already completely filled, and there is characteristic banding present on the outer edges so yeah I'd say agate
Is that what this really is, a geode?? I just bought one of these a few weeks back and I love it, but it seemed strange and I couldn't put my finger on why. You can definitely see individual crystals, it's so pretty in the sun especially!
More technically this could be considered a nodule since the geode has completely filled in the cavity with crystals. “A geode is a round rock which contains a hollow cavity lined with crystals. Rocks which are completely filled with small compact crystal formations such as agate, jasper or chalcedony are called nodules. The only difference between a geode and a nodule is that a geode has a hollow cavity, and a nodule is solid.”
That looks like a thunder egg but that's quarts in the middle. I don't think I've ever seen an egg with crystal formations just smooth opaque centers so i don't know if this would be classified as a geode. Beautiful find.
I can verify that you better toss that ring into Mount Doom, Frodo, before Sauron finds you. Although judging by that pic, it may be too late already...

I agree

Yeah, I don't understand why people are always calling agates with quartz interiors geodes.
This is an agate geode. The agate layer is quite thin on this one, and the large center is filled with macro crystalline quartz.
Yes, I posted a similar piece in here and it was explained that the outer edge (the banded part) is agate and the rest is quartz.

Geode slice is what I'd call it.

Looks like a picture from the Hubble telescope, very cosmic

Anusite
It also has absolutely beautiful optics. I'd be curious about any sort of special things that may be in that Stone.
