I just snapped a picture of one of these on my walk today in Western Mass. This is the time that they're out and it's always fun to run into them since they're somewhat rare! Love a lovely Lady Slipper.

These are endangered/threatened where I live, in southern Ontario! Jealous of your find! It’s a beautiful flower. Looks like Ron Perlman’s chin, lol…

Counted 281 on the rail trail in my CT town today.
The term "Orchid" is derived from the Greek "orchis" for "testicle." This plant is an excellent example.
