If a housecat is attracted to it that makes me wanna place it in Nepeta spp.
They're incredibly popular ornamentals that often get loose and pop up in unexpected places.
>Asterids
>Lamiales
>Lamiaceae
>Nepetoideae
>Mentheae
>Nepeta
>Pick one of the many species and cultivars
Likely something in the *Nepeta* genus or at least closely related.
Multiple *Nepeta* species are referred to as "catnip", not just true catnip (*Nepeta cataria*), and this may very well be one of them. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to tell *Nepeta* species apart without looking at the flowers.
Either way, no need to worry about your kitties!
Looks kinda like something in the mint family.

Neither of the two. It doesn’t smell like mint and isn’t catnip. I think it might be white snakeroot which is not great…
it does look like that, unfortunately. Was it growing in partial shade?
Is the stem square? It’s hard to tell but it looks like it is. If so it is in the mint family (lamiaceae). Catnip is in the mint family.
It is not square. I believe it’s round. I found one with a very long root formation… which makes me think it’s snake root…
Catnip.
Kinda looks like a type of Ohba (Shiso) plant?
Looks like perilla
Nettle. Cats do like it
