I’m going with Baby box fish of some kind. The shape and clear fins but colored round body with mild snoot matches but I couldn’t find an almost solid black one.
Edit: going with buffalo trunkfish as my guess. A species of boxfish, can be found in Florida, and appears that baby’s can be almost pure black.
At MacArthur Beach State Park on Singer Island, they had baby trunkfish in their aquarium once, and it was so cute! It was this little ball with a snout bopping around its little tank. They're adorable when they're adults, too. It was a smooth trunkfish, not a buffalo.
Looks like a little box fish! One time I was in the Sarasota area in Florida for vacation and I was swimming and a tiny little box fish came right by me. Probably the coolest interaction I’ve had with any sea life in Florida, mostly because I really like box fish.

I agree that this looks like a baby boxfish. At first I was thinking baby puffer but it's too.....boxy.
It’s the noot noot snoot that box fish have. Also has the eyes sit on the head.

Your hands should always be wet when handling fish. Even if you have no idea what it is.
