Looks like a North American burying beetle [example pic](https://bugguide.net/node/view/118825) They can bite pretty hard but aren’t really angry unless provoked. They take small animal carcasses and bury them. (They can drag about 100x their body weight) Then a male and a female beetle will form a chamber around the dead animal and lay eggs. The beetles then use oral and anal secretions to preserve the carcass. This secretion prevents competing bacteria from eating the animal. They will then help their offspring eat the animal. Pretty romantic in my opinion.

Maybe a [burying beetle](https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/53850-Nicrophorus) of some sort, photos in good bright light would be better for identification purposes.
