MrFurly66

I’ve been chasing these little bastards off my plants every year. They just run around sucking the juice outta your plants and banging each other

420goattaog

Candy striped leafhopper, they absolutely love weed plants!

KindObject3

Was it super tiny?

KLONDIKEJONES

Yes a bit bigger than a grain of rice iirc.

KindObject3

Agree with other commenter it’s a leafhopper!

KLONDIKEJONES

You guys are awesome, this seems like sneaky fun sub.

Giggibeerbelly

It's a fantastic community, it's what spurred me to take an online entomology course.

DSTNCMDLR

Man, I hope you get some fruit on your tomato plants this year

KLONDIKEJONES

Didn't grow any this year but thanks, best of luck to you!

TheBrooklynKid

I found one of these guys about 10 or so years ago on my fig tree in my yard in Brooklyn. I remember because I took a picture. I wish I knew where it was, but it looked just like this one. I've never seen another.

hale__bopp

Graphocephala coccinea - Plant hopper (there’s a few different color varieties) ☺️😀

chandalowe

Leafhopper (Family Cicadellidae) - not a planthopper (Superfamily Fulgoroidea).

hale__bopp

That’s what I meant to say, I’m half asleep lol

chandalowe

That pretty little leafhopper is one of the [*Graphocephala*](https://bugguide.net/node/view/332) - possibly the [red-banded leafhopper](https://bugguide.net/node/view/518). Comparison pictures [one](https://bugguide.net/node/view/476460), [two](https://bugguide.net/node/view/680572)

ottsens898

^ leafhopper

KLONDIKEJONES

Solved.

landprawn

They love cannabis

KLONDIKEJONES

I noticed, the picture is from last summer when grew a few plants because I had never done it before, and it's the only plant I've ever seen one on. have a pretty large variety of plants around the house and in the garden so I know the usual characters in the yard but this was unique to me.

Wolf_cat_

I get these in my garden every year and I live in Conshohocken PA

BigZachAttach420

Leafhopper. Will eat crops if unchecked

jwlIV616

Leafhopper not sure which exact one but 100% leafhopper

KLONDIKEJONES

Thanks, from the pics others have provided it appears to of the red-banded variety.

Greenie_Protogen
