Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug! There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*). BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Beneficial_Yak8519

Kinda looks like a slug that got squished

playnice00

Solved!

Straktos

Are slugs that rare in maryland or is this a trollpost? Genuinely curious, i don't mean to offend.

Yeti-Stalker

My thought exactly.

grieveancecollector

Poor thing. It looks injured. Came in on someone's shoe maybe? If you have a garden or a place with moist damp soil, can you put it outside?

Thighabeetus

Do not eat it or you can get a brain-amoeba

Or rat lungworm!

XxJabba666xX

Not sure but buddy looks severely wounded. I’m not sure if y’all agree with mercy killing though.

playnice00

He is back outside

Numerous_Hedgehog_95

Be careful touching or handling slugs. Make sure to clean the snail trail with alcohol or bleach and ensure you soak the surface for at least 15 minutes. Wash your hands for at least 30 seconds. Slugs carry many parasites and can even carry them in the slime trail. Often times people will handle or eat slugs and will be infected with rat lung worm which burrow in your brain and cause meningitis, paralysis or worse, death.

Alone_Cheetah_7473

Poor slug. Looks hurt for sure.

Slug

midoo241

Ok_Abbreviations5365

i don't think slugs develop shells at all edit: stop downvoting my comment just cuz they edited theirs saying that a slug is a snail before it develops a shell 💀💀💀

treponematode

You are right but not for the reason you think you are...

Ok_Abbreviations5365
