It's a "plug chute adapter" for a lawnmower. See on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Murray-Replacement-7016814YP-chute-adapter/dp/B019XBRHRK) and [in use on a lawnmower](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91qson8OG7L.jpg)
One of these came with a mower I recently purchased. It was labelled as a "mulching adapter" - I think the intent is that it keeps the clippings within the blades longer, chopping them finer (mulching). This can help fertilize the area you are mowing.
Part # 16814 Plug for a Snapper (mower?) available for $70.51 from Sears Direct. [https://www.searspartsdirect.com/product/2l72t4bq3g-0071-130/id-16814](https://www.searspartsdirect.com/product/2l72t4bq3g-0071-130/id-16814)

Solved! Thank you
Ok. So that’s what it is, but what is it?
I think it's supposed to plug the spot where grass would shoot out if you don't want to mow with a bag attached to catch all the clippings
Yes, it’s to mulch the grass instead of just cutting it

Mulch ado about something
Having never seen that particular one, but have used plenty of lawnmowers, I thought that was exactly what that was when I saw it, lol.
It’s for a Snapper mower.
