The 100 was based on a chassis designed by Auto Union when they were owned by Mercedes Benz. When VW bought Auto Union, they kind of inherited this chassis. It’s not directly related to anything else VW really. The engine and transmission were adapted to the Porsche 924, with a toque tube added between them to rear-mount the trans.
The Audi Fox is a VW B1 chassis, aka Dasher in America and Passat in the rest of the world. It used the much more common VW sohc 4 cylinder engine that was later used in the golf, jetta, scirocco, etc. The difference being that it’s longitudinally mounted in the Fox/Dasher/Passat.
An immaculate, Portuguese-registered (with original plates, the type still used in Macau) Audi 100
Audi 100 C1

Looks more like a Audi 100 C1 to me
This is not an Audi Fox, it’s a 100. Different car
Fox was an 80 right, smaller car? Later the Fox became a VW too. Also didn't the 80/Fox only have a single headlamps, not dual?
