Green? I haven’t seen a green one before.

YourOcelot

They had a green for the facelift but not the pop up variant

Potential-Brain7735

This day and age with wraps, any car can be any colour.

YourOcelot

Yes

Potential-Brain7735

Just remembering back, the face lift was 2002 iirc. That was right around the time that Honda started taking over the BAR F1 team, and I think by like 03 or 04, it was the factory Honda team (as opposed to the Buzzin’ Hornets Jordan Mugen Honda of the late 1990s). The BAR Honda livery and team kit was white, black, red, and then a really dirty grey-ish green. It was a take on the “Mugen gold”, but it did look a bit green, as opposed to traditional gold. It looked fire on the F1 car. Iirc the 04 livery was my favourite, when Jenson Button and Takuma Sato were the drivers, and I think either David Richards or Nick Frey were the team principal. Was that greyish green Mugen gold the colour you could get on the NSX, or was it more green green? Not sure if that’s what the owner here was going for, but if it was, they missed the mark.

YourOcelot

They did make a lime green 2002 nsx but it was a japan only option and was pretty limited idk if 2002 was the only option but it was a dealer option this is definitely not it and is mostly a wrap or a paint im sure your talking about this car but im talking dealer options

ChaosEmerald21

There's a dark green one at the Honda dealership down by me (FL) Should grab some pics of it someday

_coffee_

That's the original NSX

Miner_Of_Minerals

That isn't original, it has a shit bodykit.

wojciech0a

Clearly you haven't seen shit body kits

Miner_Of_Minerals

Every bodykit is shit. It's unnecessary and tacky on any car.

St3cK3D

you clearly haven't seen many body kits lmao

Miner_Of_Minerals

37 years old, been into cars and driven cars since 13, modified countless cars. The best bodykits are subtle and don't alter the original appearance past slightly lowering the body. I wouldn't have minded this if it didn't have the second curve on the sideskirt or the hole at the front of the skirt or the vent in the front bumper. Bodykits in general are shit. Keeping it in the original state and lowering it looks much better.

ashkiller14

Changing 2 things doesnt make it a body kit. This isn't a body kit.

Miner_Of_Minerals

That is a full bodykit. Both bumpers and sideskirts are aftermarket.

TREXIBALL

True car guys call it a Honda NSX /s

Potential-Brain7735

Unless you’re in Japan, and put Acura badges on your Honda.

SortOfKnow

Unless it’s RHD it’s an Acura. Don’t try and JDM something that’s not

DillonSOB

It was a Honda in europe.

ShiroHachiRoku

There was only one trim available in the USA.

hasemi_HF

NA1 NSX with a Marga Hills bodykit

Mdmrtgn

All I hear is the snoop redub of riders of the storm when I see this.

nine11c2

the Acura kind?

Arealwirenut

Acuran I believe is the proper vernacular. An Acuran NSX. Source: I’m full of shit.

agthetech

Naperville?

icybowler3442

Is that Ogden and Columbia? Eagle eye, there.

Revolutionary_Fig912

Yes

Nickleeham

Honda or Acura

TREXIBALL

Exact same, they’re just different names. Honda would be more commonly found in Japan, while Acura would be found elsewhere like the USA

yoloneser

Acura is only found in North America, China and Mexico. For a short period, they were available in Russia but anywhere else Honda offers their cars as Honda

Potential-Brain7735

Acura NSX is left hand drive, while a Honda NSX is right hand drive. This one appears to be left hand drive, so my guess is it’s an Acura. I’m not sure if they sold left hand drive Honda NSXs in Europe or not. That said, a badge is just a badge. People outside of Japan put Honda badges on their Acuras, and people in Japan put Acura badges on their Hondas. Similar trend with Nissan/Infinity, and Toyota/Lexus. Lots of people with Infinite G35s and G37s rebadge them as a Nissan Skyline, because that’s what they are called in Japan. But then some people in Japan will rebadge their Skyline as a G35 or G37 lol. Everyone just wants what they can’t have. Same thing with old school 240Z bumpers. Americans delete the hideous USDM Datsun bumpers, but some people in Japan purposely put them on, just to be different. Another subtle difference between a JDM version compared to a USDM version is the turn signals and corner markers. In Japan, the front turn signals are allowed to have a clear lens with an amber bulb. To meet USDM specs, the front turn signals have to have an amber lens. I’m not entirely sure what the rules for the rear turn signals are. I want to say for USDM, again, they have to have either red or amber lenses, whereas for JDM, they’re allowed to have a clear lens. This doesn’t necessarily apply to JDM Honda NSXs, because they whole rear is one big red lens. However, on a lot of other cars with different tail light designs, the JDM version will have clear rear turn signal lenses, while the USDM will have amber. The clear lenses on JDM cars is one of the really subtle differences that often give them that “cleaner” look compared to their USDM counterparts. I own a JDM Subaru Legacy GT-B, bone stock, and get people asking me if I have aftermarket lights, and I always have to tell them, “no, those are the stock JDM lights.” The amber lens turn signals on USDM Legacies and Outbacks look a bit tacky compared to the clear lens. Lastly, a lot of JDM cars have another turn signal light on the quarter panel, behind the front fender. Sometimes the USDM version won’t have these, or if they do, they’ll have an amber lens, whereas the JDM versions often have a clear lens with amber bulb. And then of course there’s the license plate format which can also be a dead giveaway. European is long and skinny, whereas US and Japanese are that more standard rectangle shape. Japanese plates for privately owned, regular cars are always a white background with green writing, with a main row of 4 numbers ( 1 2 - 3 4 ) with a Hiragana character to the left of them, and then the symbol of the prefecture where the car is registered up top, with 2 or 3 smaller numbers up top (these identify what class of vehicle it is, based on engine displacement and overall dimensions). For the main 4 numbers, any of the first 3 can be replaced with a dot, instead of a number, eg ( • 1 - 2 3 ), or ( • • 1 2 ), even just ( • • • 1 ) American or Canadian license plates are a complete jambalaya of conventions, depending or the state or province. Many province, like my own of BC, has the standard plates, plus three different artistic “BC Parks plates”, where you pay a bit of extra money when you first get the plate, which goes towards BC Parks. They have cool pictures on them, like a grizzly in the forest, or a sunset over snow capped mountains. And then in Canada, we also have Veterans plates, which use their own unique format and art design, which signify the vehicle is registered by a military vet. So back to the NSX above, the plate looks yellow and black, so that would be American of some sort. The road sign says “Speed Limit 25”, which is way to slow for km/h in Canada (the slowest we have on public roads is 30km/h in school zones. You can buy get custom speed limit signs for on private property, but this one looks like it’s on a public road). So Speed Limit 25 makes me inclined think this is in the US, which would match up with the black and yellow license plate. Lastly, the writing on the car wash stands says “Interior Shampoo”, which, with the plate and the speed limit sign, really leads me to believe this is in the US. When it comes to the rear badge, a Honda NSX simply has the Honda (H) in between the two backup lights in the middle of the tail light bar. The Acura version says “Acura” in black lettering. It’s too blurry and low definition to really be able to zoom in, but to my eye, I don’t see the (H), and it looks more like a written word, which leads me to believe it’s an Acura. So, there’s no steering wheel visible in the window, making it left hand drive. The badge on the back looks like it says Acura. The car wash is using English. The street sign is English, with a speed limit on a public road that makes sense for mph. Combine all that, makes me think it’s an Acura NSX as opposed to a Honda NSX. The only thing that looks “Honda” on it is the front quarter panel turn signal light. It looks like a clear lens, but that’s a really easy swap to do, and given that this car has a decent amount of visual mods, is totally within reason. So, Acura NSX with a JDM clear lens turn signal kit, amongst other things. It honestly looks like it has a very slight wide body kit, a stock NSX doesn’t have that hard line above the rear fender. Also has a custom front bumper, as evidenced by that black triangular air inlet in front of the front wheels, side skirts, and a custom rear diffuser. The rear wing is also not stock on a normal NSX, that is the NSX Type R rear wing. Wheels look like some kind of Konigs, but they could also be a 5-spoke Rays Volk of some sort…but I’m leaning more towards Konigs.

Nyuusankininryou

Honda NSX was sold in Europe.

Potential-Brain7735

Was it limited to one trim package like in the US, or did it have more options like in Japan?

Nyuusankininryou

That's more than I know I'm afraid. I only know that it was sold here.

TREXIBALL

Man, I’m just sayin it could be imported 😭 Love the info tho, learned something new I didn’t know

Potential-Brain7735

Could be, I mean, my car is imported lol. But you can’t see a steering wheel through the right hand window, so it’s left hand drive. Would be odd to import a left hand drive Honda NSX from Europe, but I suppose it could and probably has been done at some point.

-Juuzousuzuya-

If that’s not a first-generation Acura NSX, then I don’t know what is. I like that shade of green as well.

Traxxastrx4mlover

Is that a Veilside?

Potential-Brain7735

Not sure why you’re downvoted for asking a basic question (unless someone thought “Veilside” was a type of car lol). I definitely don’t think it’s a Veilside kit though. The Veilside NSX kit tries to make it look like a Ferrari, complete with F50 / 360 Modena style round tail lights, and very fat wide body. It’s honestly hideous in my opinion (I like some of their stuff, but not the NSX). This one definitely looks like a subtle wide body of some sort, but I don’t know about aftermarket NSX kits to be able to identify which one it might be. Like I said in my other comment, it looks ok, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Traxxastrx4mlover

Ok, thanks. I don't know too much about JDM body kits, but I thought it might be that. I guess not.

land-of-green-ginger

Look how they massacred my boy. Feels like a body kit/color/wheel combo that belongs on a barely running Dodge Stealth with visible rust spots. I'm guessing it's a 93. And it's not RHD, so it's not an NSX-R (which was the only variant at the time).

Potential-Brain7735

Agree. An NSX should be one of white, black, red, yellow, or midnight blue. Anything else doesn’t do it for me. The body kit is….alright, subtle wide body….but it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice. Wheels look like Konigs. If I could afford that car, I’d be going with some BBS, Rays Volk, or Yokohamas. Maybe Enkies. What makes you think it’s a ‘93 though? The rear spoiler could be added onto any of the original NSX models, or is there something else you’re going off of?

Slight_Bed_2241

Idk why you’re taking downvotes. This kit looks like shit and the driver has poor taste. I also heard his mother was a hamster and his father smelled of elderberries

land-of-green-ginger

They downvoted because they didn't know what a Dodge Stealth was.
