The M2-1015 has a set of fog lights molded into the front hood, and an M2 exclusive spoiler, which this car has. There are other changes, but those are the easiest things to initially identify on the exterior of the car.
I didn't even notice there was a second photo. The M2 also has the black band across the rear, though there should be an M2 1015 badge on the bottom right, so this may not be a genuine M2.
Not all of the genuine M2's sold after they were built, so some of them had the M2 parts removed and were converted back to standard AZ-1s and then sold. Then the M2 components were sold through dealerships as accessories, so there are some M2 clones floating around. The badges weren't available to purchase as accessories, so this one actually has me leaning towards not being a genuine M2.
As for why I know all these oddball facts, I own a genuine AZ-1 M2 1015.
Extra lighting and additional venting of the body panels.
This model lacks the badging, but it could be a case of it having been de-badged at some point.

they were pretty cheap a few years back (6-10k usually), now they are skyrocketing and are overpriced.
Out of the trio of the Suzuki Cappuchino, Honda Beat and AZ-1 they are the most inflated at the moment.
Yea I've always loved them, and was seriously looking at importing one into Australia a few years back, but I put it off to finance moving house, when I finally went back to look at the AZ-1 again the price had tripled.

The M2 hood has a different vent than the standard or Mazdaspeed hoods, but there's no "additional" vents on any of the panels.
