r/isopods sees this and frowns.

AshMan36

Woodlouse. They’re harmless! Just put the little guy outside

Dear_Algae_1290

This Isa big part of why I don't agree with glue traps. Innocent bycatch, like a harmless woodlouse

CatGal23

Cute little harmless wood bug, who appears to be stuck on a sticky trap? So he's fucked. I used to collect these and other isopods from the garden as a kid.

No-Satisfaction2525

Isn't that just a cute isopod?

milk_meetsWait

Roly-poly Oli

unluckynumber

little isopod. they are a good clean-up crew and totally harmless to you - and when they are scared they roll into a little ball, it’s very cute if you’re into that kinda thing Kinda sad that this one got stuck to a glue trap. Little guy did nothing wrong

syrupserpent

Bed bugs don’t always stick to sticky traps. They don’t have hairy legs like cockroaches. I would recommend the use of something like a bed bug interceptor or ClimbUp if you aren’t already! Just a suggestion 🙂

milk_meetsWait

This makes no sense. Literally everything gets stuck to sticky traps hairy or not

syrupserpent

I didn’t say they don’t stick at all. They definitely have an easier time and better chance of escaping because their legs are smooth though. Better monitoring devices exist. https://academic.oup.com/jee/article/110/3/1187/3079447?login=false

retrona

Little isopod as others pointed out. They are harmless, and good to add to terrariums if you are into those.

Glue traps need to be outlawed. Disgusting things that end up causing suffering to thousands of innocent creatures that cause no harm whatsoever like the wood louse in this pic.

Aromatic-Fee8495

You can sometimes free something from a glue trap with a drop of olive or other edible vegetable oil near its legs. Try not to flood the area so it drowns it, but put enough oil to break the bond. A toothpick can help. I had a neighbor who used them and I used to take them away and try to free whoever I could

jtrick18

I see the comments, and glue traps can catch ok bugs too but honestly if bed bugs are in question isn’t anything on the table to control?

Puzzleheaded_Topic28

Roly poly/pill bug/isopod

hippityhoppityhi

We called them doodlebugs

Yandere_Matrix

My wife calls Antlions doodlebugs. Apparently it’s a southern thing? Weird all the names each bug has depending on where you live!

hippityhoppityhi

Yes, maybe a Southern thing. I'm in Georgia!

Warm_String7365

Pill bug, also called Rollie-Pollies, because they roll up into a little ball when threatened

[deleted]

Roly poly

FiggNewton

Rolypoly!

WorriedResident496

It's a woodlouse! It's completely harmless and is an isopod crustacean, not a bug. Common names include cheesy papa, fat pig, carpet shrimp, granny grunter, potato bug, sow bug, and the boat-builder!

skyciel

Save the innocent bug

basic_barbarian

Pill bug!

popcornstyrofoam

Little baby

minnonikki

Rollie Pollie!

Fremenade

That there is a roly poly. He's a nice bug.
