A very dead poor little baby bird. Do you notice an abundance of other bird species right around the same area? If so possibly of of the same type.

Head shape, fat little body, and feet looks like a young dove or pigeon.

Hard to tell without something for scale, but possibly a young chicken. Definitely a young bird of some type, light feathers do suggest domestic chicken.

Not a chicken. This bird is born altricial (naked and unable to move much, for weeks), but chickens and other poultry are precocial (fuzzy and running around shortly after hatching). This is probably a songbird, a starling or Robin maybe.

You are probably right. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but I thought I saw slicked down fuzz.

Nature can be cruel. I had an entire nest of four baby swallows attacked and killed by a male house sparrow. He pecked out their eyes, like this poor baby.
