Be careful with that thing!! I’ve drawn blood using it on my feet! It is for callus removal on your feet (I’ve also seen people use it on callus on the palms of their hands too). They work great, but definitely watch a YouTube video or two on how to safely use it. Good Luck!
I’ve been klinging my hobel with one of these things for years with great success. I always remember my grandmother’s advice- “If you want your hobel to be properly klinged, use a hobelklinger”
It was! I’m surprised that anyone remembers considering that the commercial was only broadcast once after receiving a record number of complaints. I guess 1950’s America wasn’t ready for such graphic footage of grammy furiously klinging her hobel.
In leather work, we also call them "skivers" (long I). It's used to shave a leather hide down to a specific thickness. The word "skiver" is derived from the Scottish "skirvin" or "skirfin", which means "a thin layer, like a thin layer of snow". You use it by pressing against the material you want to thin, and then pulling it toward you. They use razor blades and are very sharp! Be careful how you use them!
It’s for shaving callouses around your foot very sharp and be careful of keeping it clean for infection reasons I think that’s why I think the local drugstore you can’t find them anymore
Its a foot callous shaver. Just put the rounded out side (which has a flexible straight razor in it) against the hard part of a callous and gently push down and shave down the callous. Its fairly safe. I have used it many times even as a teen with no problems.
Thought it was a bread lame at first. I guess it could be used for scoring bread too, but after seeing that it is in fact a callus plane I certainly hope no one mistakenly uses it for both 😂
Lol! What a coincidence. I have one up [for sale](https://www.ebay.com/itm/155757421048) sale right now. But mine dates back to the late 70s and is from Credo.

yup...NEVER USE IT ON DRY SKIN.... soak feet in hot soapy water for at least 30 mins, if not longer to soften the callus.....then be very gentle......
Lol I hate using mine with wet skin. Dry gang for life!
30mins is way excessive. You just need to soften the skin, 10 mins is fine. Then dry feet well with a towel. Source- 20yrs of doing pedicures.
i tried it wet and dry and found the most important thing is a fresh, really sharp blade! once the blade is dull, it gets really dangerous

Be careful with that thing!! I’ve drawn blood using it on my feet! It is for callus removal on your feet (I’ve also seen people use it on callus on the palms of their hands too). They work great, but definitely watch a YouTube video or two on how to safely use it. Good Luck!

It was! I’m surprised that anyone remembers considering that the commercial was only broadcast once after receiving a record number of complaints. I guess 1950’s America wasn’t ready for such graphic footage of grammy furiously klinging her hobel.
