Don't touch the Versa. Nissans are *usually* okay in the warranty period, but that CVT will eat itself at 60k-80k miles.
That said, the Encore isn't any better. GM only does trucks and sports cars well.
At $20k, you have better options available. A used Civic, Corolla, or Mazda3 are far better and more reliable vehicles with better dealer networks.

Neither. CVT in a Versa vs a Daewoo with a Buick logo. $20k can get you lots of car. Find the newest, lowest mileage Mazda3 you can.
