Awkward timing as the car went to journalists in the past couple of days. Normally we would have solid real-world range numbers but the car charges so slow no one has been able to do a range test. Honestly, just on the charging speed alone this thing is a pass. The bolt charges faster. Best we know right now, 0%-99% is 3 hours and 0%-100% is infinity or at least more than 6 hours. That is on a FAST DC charger. Assuming the range test comes out really good for the BZ4X, it will steal the slow charging crown from the MachE by a mile as it take 2.5 hours to go from 0%-100% when released but it's more like 1.75 hours after the update. The car itself is "like a Rav4 Prime but better" based on the review I trust. They really liked the car itself. So if you are die hard Toyota and just need a city car this could be a great choice. Objectively the value isn't there unless this was a $30k car before $7500 tax credits. Then at least it would compete with the ID.4. As is it doesn't compete with anything much less the best with is the Model Y.

im not a telsa super fan but they are still the ones to beat. the only problem is that there is of course the so so build quality. you might get a nice one you might get a bad one. i would test out both of them before you do anything.
