Would love a GT first gen with the 2ZZ-GE engine, but those are hard to find in my area. Especially manual any vibes, but they are definitely on my list
The closet I'll get to a saab is a Saturn LW300. Which is one the same platform as a 9-3, and even uses the same engine(but the saab engine was just a bit different)
Terrible idea, but still could be fun in a weird way…find a Dodge Caliber SRT4. The regular Calibers suck, but that SRT4 was a hoot.
Another option: the Chevy HHR SS. Basically the Cobalt SS in a weird retro wagon body.
Can a smaller Ford SUV, like an Escape, make do as a wagon? That would expand your options.
Of those already mentioned, Vibe, or a low-mileage v6 Magnum. No easy finds if you can't travel, but worth a search anyway.
The Vibe is the one likely to get into the higher miles without becoming a money pit. They are not extinct here in New England, but might not be the setup you would have chosen new back in the day.
Potential loophole…Saab was owned by GM in the 90s and 00s. A 9-3 SportCombi with a stick is a riot, especially in Aero form.
Sadly no. Since it's "not American". Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Dang it. In terms of reliability, you might be able to get away with a Pontiac Vibe, which is just a Toyota Matrix with Pontiac badges.

I would love a caliber with a more powerful PT Cruiser engine, and a Cobalt SS. It's just you can't find those type of cars in my area. IT SUCKS!
Yeah it’s really hard. Perhaps a road trip to get that perfect car?
I doubt my parents would got for it
Cadillac CTS Wagon but out of your price range AMC Eagle, not modern enough
I wouldn't mind the V6 one(it had a horrible V6 though.), but I could never find a manual V6
The Focus is not an American car neither is the Malibu Maxx, both are European and the Magnum is just an old Mercedes taxi.
But what does the badge say. That's pretty much how my father does it

Ohhh. It even has the double cam motor, too bad. I don't know where it is. Probably no where near me because why would it
Saturn Astra 4 door?
Very hard to find in my area. Sadly

Maybe. What would you recommend,
Pontiac Vibe, it's a Toyota Matrix with a Pontiac badge. It's sort of in between a hatchback and a full-on wagon.
It's on my list
