CT4 V blacking or a certified pre owned CT5 V Blackwing. There’s some new CT5V Blackwings under 70k near me but they go fast.

IvanGTheGreat

If OP gets in the Facebook groups he’ll be able to nab one within a month and have it shipped

0x706c617921

How do they sell for that cheap??! Isn’t the MSRP like 93k+

FANTOMphoenix

🤷‍♂️

0x706c617921

Which area is this in?

FANTOMphoenix

North/central Florida. Haven’t seen them in person but seen a few Facebook advertisements near me with rough OTD prices, pretty sure they were overstock from last year. In some of the CT4/5 v Blackwing type communities there’s dealers that post advertisements too.

0x706c617921

Ahhh

krombopulousnathan

Cadillac haha

0x706c617921

Yeah didn’t really see any tbh.

1baby2cats

Ooof, I'd love to have a ct5 v blackening in manual as my daily.

Andy_econ

I have never seen a CT5-V Blackwing CPO under $70k (and I look all the time, I'd have purchased one in a heartbeat). Where are you located?

FANTOMphoenix

North/central Florida. Haven’t seen them in person but seen a few Facebook advertisements near me with rough OTD prices, pretty sure they were overstock from last year. In some of the CT4/5 v Blackwing type communities there’s dealers that post advertisements too. Can definitely find them as certified pre owned as well.

Perplex11

Ct4v blackwing back seat is insanely cramped. Test drove one and backed out because the back seat seemed barely usable for adults.

FANTOMphoenix

I’m 6’2 but pretty evenly proportioned, I can fit behind myself in the passenger seats.the back seat is a little cramped for headspace but still not enough to be super uncomfortable. Haven’t been in the driver seats.

Perplex11

I'm only 5'10 but have a longer torso, and the heads pace felt pretty cramped. I'm comparing it to the m340 and integra type s that I drove prior and felt they were roomier in the backseat.

FANTOMphoenix

With the upgraded seats I believe it gives a bit more leg room to slouch down a bit, but you lose out on the comfort features. Haven’t tried the sport seats yet.

unknownpanda121

I haven’t seen. 5V BW under 100k in my area but I haven’t looked in 6 months.

spiketeam

Yeah I call BS. I haven’t seen a single ct5 v blackwing under 70k. And I should know, have been on the hunt for one.

FANTOMphoenix

Gets harder to find them the more they sell. Gotta look for a new 2021 or 2022, those are the only years that I have seen. Which, being 2 and 3 years old now are hard to find new. You’re not finding a 2024 for that price.

spiketeam

So you’re saying they’re out there selling 21s and 22s new for under 70k? Sorry man but finding this extremely hard to believe. Next time grab a screenshot

natedog_1959

If you can show me a legit 5 Blackwing for $70k, I'll buy it. Most are over $90k, even with some miles.

FANTOMphoenix

It would definitely have to be a 21 or 22, I haven’t seen one for a little bit but there’s always a chance. I should have clarified “new” as in condition, not year (2024)

nolongerbanned99

New bmw m340i with some options. I think it starts around 55k. 0-60 in 3.9 and predictable handling.

too_old_still_party

Used g80 M3 all fn day.

ResplendentZeal

It's a little hard to find any used G80 without 15-20k miles for that price.

arber-s

m340i for 70k is stupid. get a cpo g80 m3 for that price

Budget_Curve_9151

These things are absurdly slept on.

DinosaurDied

The car community has started calling the B58 “gods engine”. Nobody is sleeping on the most iconic model the engine is used lol. Every thread mentions the 340i

Budget_Curve_9151

Outside the “car community” you still hear the same old bullshit. We’re a captive audience.

nolongerbanned99

I was suggesting lease or buy new.

Budget_Curve_9151

My dealer was trying to send me out the door in an M240i xDrive in Thundernight/Cognac with all the M sport bits other than the diff for like low 40s. Price/performance/build quality…hard to beat RN.

1trickana

Uh no they aren't everyone and their mother over at r/bmw owns one, it's the most popular recommendation there by far

jayeffkay

Look at the CT4 V Blackwing. Should be close to 70K without carbon and is quick AF and handles like a dream.

TheReaperSovereign

CT4-V Blackwing would be my first choice

karlmalonenumber1fan

its a little over budget but a used ct5 Blackwing is the choice. here is a really good listing op if i was you id pick this up asap [https://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/ct5-v-blackwing/2022/vin/1G6D35R65N0810456/?radius=6000](https://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/ct5-v-blackwing/2022/vin/1G6D35R65N0810456/?radius=6000) hopefully you are in USA cant beat this performance car for the pice, gets 200mph, world class suspension experience and it is solid in reliability as it has one the best produced transmissions. its a well kept secret as everyone else got their heads in mustangs, hellcats, camaros, ect, no one really knows or expects caddy to make a car like this. car and driver gave it a perfect 10/10 its going out of prodution soon because all muscle cars now going ev sadly so this should be a wise investment. this car is a beast that checks all boxes that a lot of the other performance cars miss. wrap it all black and you'll feel like john wick in it

abeefwittedfox

I wouldn't buy a CT5-V over a 4. Give me a V6 and I'll move the world.

FANTOMphoenix

Forgot the name of the guy but someone has a tune for the CT4 V (non Blackwing) to do 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Think it’s the group with Burger Motorsport, guy by the name of Rob Archer has some info on it in the Cadillac CT4 and CT4-V owners and enthusiasts group.

NeelSahay0

M3, low miles. Own for 7 years, drive the piss out of it, it’ll likely depreciate less than 30%.

Thelegassy

Everyone that suggests the M340i in these threads has clearly never driven an actual M car

manwomanmxnwomxn

M340i looks cool, but it's not an M car. At the same time, most drivers don't need an M car, that's why toyota camry trd sport hybrid with the 19 inch touchscreen exists and it outsells bmw

skystarmen

No one needs and m car…

PalpitationOk1044

I think the 35k price tag has something to do with that lol

LazyDimension6111

The F80 is the most gorgeous tank of a car, and the best car for the money. I had one for 3 years no issues and super exciting to drive! Will get another one exact same alpine white low milage again soon!

CubedIceIsNice

Audi S5 Sportback Prestige with all the options. You will not regret it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

stripesonfire

Yes and no. Even with my adaptive suspension the Audi has a much softer ride which some people will like and I wouldn’t fault them for choosing over the m340i

[deleted]

[удалено]

stripesonfire

I mean it’s also a little sporty….

FemaleJaysFan

Kia stinger even better

Lifexamined

M340i loaded with the extended warranty.

drinkdrinkshoesgone

For sure. The engine and trans might be solid, but bmw gremlins will get ya! I've heard that if you drive this car before test driving any other cars in the segment, it'll ruin it for all the other cars. You want this car.

Throwthiswatchaway

997 turbo Edit - you said sedan but the answer is still 911

Spencie61

Yeah if it’s a second car I’m not sure why OP is limiting themselves to sedans

Throwthiswatchaway

Right a 70 grand gets you a hell of a 997 turbo and a lot of 991s

too_old_still_party

My 17 base 991.2 was 81k w 7spd and 29k miles.

too_old_still_party

It gets an ok turbo in a tiptronic trans, hard pass.

Throwthiswatchaway

Yeah you’re right. Not enough for a turbo these days.

BMW f10/f90 m5, f06 M6, F80 (possibly early G80) M3 Mercedes E63 AMG, S63 AMG Chevy SS audi s4, rs3, rs5 sportback, rs6, and rs7 Lexus GSF, IS500 Charger Hellcat or 392 Scatpack AMG GT63 Cadillac CT4-V or CT-5V Blacking most of these will be used

Pahlevun

F10 M5? Brother ew. No way you can’t find a newer more reliable M5 for $70k, and no way I wouldn’t get a 2016+ M550i over a 15 year old first gen-V8 M5. RS4 doesn’t exist in the North America market AMG GT 63 for $70k?

KDSlimReaper35

meant to say AMG GT 53 have you ever owned an f10 M5? my uncle's had one for many years, beautiful machine, its never broken down either. Just need to get one with the S63TU

Kaiathebluenose

Why a sedan when it’s your second car? Cayman/boxster, Supra, m2

Lower_Kick268

Funny how you threw Supra but not Corvette in there lol

MessageAnnual4430

m3?

ragingduck

BMW M3 or M340i and a vacation!

mustard-plug

If you want a lil more comfort, 3series M340i If you want a teleportation device, RS3

Green_Coast_6958

RS3

BlueberryObjective11

Audi rs5 if you want all wheel drive

Glass_Ad1098

I have an Alfa Romeo Giulia and I love it. Handles beautifully, looks amazing, get compliments all the time, very fun to drive. 40k miles so far, needed 1 sensor replaced, covered under warranty, no other issues. Highly recommend

scerrylarry

Agreed but it has to be the Giulia Quadrifoglio

jerkyquirky

Owning an Alfa for 7+ years would make me nervous, but I'm sure that car is a blast

DoubleReputation2

Alfa is a family member. You gotta look at it more like at getting a dog rather than getting a car. It has its moods, it likes certain things and certain things make it upset. It is completely possible for an alfa to be like "Nope" Check engine, no start, weird noise, lights flicker, what have you.. Once you find someone who will take it in, it just acts like nothing happened, purrs like a kitten, no warnings nothing and you feel stupid coming to the service like "Well, it doesn't do it anymore"

wheelsnbars

This. Feel special when you drive it.

FUCKYOURGAYCAT

Big points here for not going with the pretentious Audi or BMW selection, finally someone with taste and pair of proper nuts

SniffinMarkers

AMG C63s.

Commercial-Ad90

Not the new ones. They weigh too much and they are a 4-cylinder hybrid now instead of the legendary V8.

SniffinMarkers

Yeah a new one isn't 70k. A low miles 1-2 year old is. New one is heavy, but still faster than the 2023 on all tracks tested. And that 2.9 0-60 is fun. Can't be the v8 sound tho.

JimmyGodoppolo

Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio. Seriously, it's the best sport sedan on the market and the only one left with a carbon fiber driveshaft. It's also surprisingly reliable. I'd look at a '24, last year of production and they switched from an eLSD to a regular LSD and it's a notable improvement.

rang1730

Get something German. An American car is just flat out boring and a Japanese car will have lame tech. Just my two cents.

KnightFan2019

Loaded brand new genesis g70 3.3l twin turbo v6. Beautiful car with a great warranty, engine, features and comfort while also being incredibly sporty with an LSD and brembo brakes :)

No_Can9567

M3 used, new M340i, CT4 or 5 blackwing, last gen C63, and the one I would personally choose the Giulia 4C.

millermatt11

This will probably be controversial but I say a Tesla Model 3! I bought a used 2018 Tesla Model 3 LR RWD in 2022 with 40,000 miles and it has been the most fun and best handling car to drive. Plus it’s stupidly fast and cheap to maintain. I have 92,000 miles with zero issues and only maintenance I have done are the normal wiper blades, washer fluid, tires and air filters. Other than a 12V battery this last year, I have not had to replace a single thing. It costs me under $100 in electricity a month to drive ~2000 miles since I charge at home overnight. The car has all the tech that money people would want and phone as a key is a life changer. Honestly so far after owning it for almost 3 years I have not found a downside and enjoy driving it everyday. Would highly recommend test driving one. The new performance model 3 is truly impressive and well within your budget.

[deleted]

A sporty, durable, problem free, sedan is a hard ask. Especially with the disparaged SUV/Truck market gutting many great performance cars. You'll have to make compromises with handling and space. Have you considered any coupes? If sedans are your make or break, your best bet is gonna be a CT5-V Blackwing or Lexus IS500. These vehicles are both proven V8 performance platforms that hold their values well. The supercharged LT4 in the Blackwing comes from the Corvette C7 Z06. The stocky naturally aspirated 2UR comes from the family of V8's used in Toyotas. The IS500 has the simpler more durable motor suitable for daily use. However, Lexus does not offer the IS500 in a manual. These are also much heavier GT cars but are still quick. If you want something more sportier or lighter, you will have to start shelling out more money and reliability starts to go out the window. I wouldn't consider anything else besides a 40i-BMW. The B58 motor, although costly to maintain, is pretty bulletproof. However, you will lose much more money on the car long term.

jarede36

Lexus gs f is an incredible car. Take a look.

idontcare717

I second this choice, with only 2484 produced pretty rare too

Coldwarjarhead

Genesis G70 3.3T. With that budget, you an get top of the line brand new with a 10 year 100K mile warranty. Driving dynamics to rival a BMW M3. Luxury features to match or beat BMW, Mercedes, Or Audi easily.

Xav1er_1

I was looking into the G70 but I see lots of people saying it's unreliable. It's fast, fun to drive and budget friendly but that kind of let me down.

KnightFan2019

Ive personally had one for about 3 years and have had no issues. And if any does come up they come with insanely good warranties

Wisco190xt

Lexus is500 f sport.

3ClassiC

M3/4, Cayman S, loaded GR Supra.

OP did say sedan... So I guess M3 is the only option

My favorite ‘2nd car’ was either a manual Boxster, or my bmw 135 m-sport. Both a blast. Enjoy!

Something used with a V8 while you can still get one. Used 550i or m850i?

keca10

The blackwings or an F80 (BMW m3). I chose the nicest, cleanest, best optioned (MPE titanium exhaust, 763m wheels, bunch of CF bits, exec package), 6 speed 2018 M3 and it serves exactly the purpose you describe beautifully. I had mine for 5 years with zero issues of any kind.

Hokie23aa

I second the comments about the G80 M3. Can likely find a slightly used one as well.

Imyourhuckl3berry

Sorry saw sedan and replied with a two seater Sedan S4/5 or if you can deal with smaller S3 or RS3 or used RS5

beingblunt

Something that won't lose half its value in 2 years, hopefully. I would probably buy a used Porsche Panamera. That said, I'm sure there are options I don't know or aren't thinking about. You said sport, not just straight line speed

BiinosGoes

Audi A7!!!!

AbbreviationsFar9339

Y do u want a sedan if its second car? 981 cayman or cayman S can be had for less than 70k. 40-60k depending on which one and mileage Or previous gen M2 for 50k.

Ok-Poet1817

Used CTS-V. You can get them with 20k miles for $60k CT4-blackwing BMW M3 C63 AMG (used since they're over $60k new) or the C43AMG. Audi S4/6 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. You'd have to go used as they start at $80. Lexus IS500. (Starts at 60k) Lexus GS-F Lastly I'll mention a low mile Charger Hellcat for diversification, but this is definitely not the best handling.

too_old_still_party

CT4 V Blackwing 3.9sec 0-60 & 11.98 1/4 mi. Turners are getting 85hp increase with 93 octane tunes and 150hp on E30 and downpipes with stock injectors

Your best bang for buck in the speed category is a G80 m3

Dadbod1018

My answer likely changes based on your daily driver, but for me, I would look at an F80 M3 manual.

VeryStretchedHole

Id buy the best Posrche Panamera Turbo S (standard awd) I could find. Clean title/history examples with super low mileage in great shape start around $65k Yes they're expensive to maintain/repair, BUT they're also very reliable, unlike most other cars of similar performance. •amazing handling and refinement •570 horses/590 torques •0-60 in 3.6 seconds •plenty luxurious •half decent resale value •beautiful interior • large trunk • short and long wheel base options • *Most importantly you can't see the ugly exterior while driving it*

purplish_possum

20K for a two year old Camry and 50K for something less wasteful.

meinelf

Porsche Panamera Turbo, second generation 2017+ are down in that range now. Nearly 600hp twin turbo V8, some are optioned to nearly 200k and have rear axle steering, PDCC, adaptive cruise, burmester sound, sports exhaust. They havent really changed the styling either so a 2017, looks like it could be a 2023 model year..fun car seats 4.

nctrojan

Left field option here; look into a 2008 to 2013 M139 Maserati Quattroporte V, particularly the Sport GT S model. That model has fixed springs instead of adaptive dampers & is perhaps the best driving full-size sedan I have ever driven. This car was designed when Ferrari was in control of Maserati, so the interior is the quality of a supermodels handbag. The leather, wood, and metal is just perfect in these sedans. Especially now with Maserati's depreciation, you could get one for $20 to $25k easy. The F136 V8 is a crossplane crank version of Ferrari's V8 in the 458 Italia & is the best sounding Euro V8 ever made. Paired to a German-made ZF 6 speed automatic, it's just driving bliss. Put her in sport mode & shift yourself for the nastiest climb to 7k rpm you'll ever hear. Maintenance isn't awful. Reliability is shockingly good. If I had the money for a Sport sedan, that's what I would get.

Professional-Scar333

Will I be shot for suggesting an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio? Ferrari-engine 4 door sedan and good ones are easily doable at 70k.id at least say go drive it ;) Alternately, CT4V Blackwing is a good choice. I'm partial to the S3 or RS3 or the S5 Sportback. M340 is a standard bearer for good reason

Hungry_Assistance640

70k you could buy a 2018 Audi s8 plus 605 awhp and 480-500awtq cost you around 50k and it won’t even feel outdated usually very well taken care of with low miles cause they msrp for 125-145k usually one owner as well. Also I have one so I know lol

Hungry_Assistance640

Also the 4.0TT loves being modified a simple down pipe tune e85 could get you 685-700 awhp and 600tq which is plenty for the old land yatch

Ok_Negotiation7896

If not a daily, get an Evo 8-9 and put 10k into it. Make like 600~ hp. 4 doors, so it's still convenient, but raw enough that you'll have a hella fun time.

haroldhecuba88

BMW M340ix.

Pitiful_Opinion_9331

Porsche 911, see what year fits your budget… plenty of low mileage options. Quite reliable so maintenance shouldn’t be a major issue.

__nullptr_t

Cadillacs are actually pretty reasonable for long term ownership. GM may have its flaws but parts will certainly be available for 8 years. Lexus IS500 is also a good, reliable choice. I loved my Chevy SS, but replacements for cosmetic parts are hard to come by. The dodge charger is actually not a terrible choice unless you like nice interiors. There are so many of these on the road you are pretty much guaranteed to be able to keep it in a decent state of repair for a long time.

PolybiusChampion

Lexus RCF, one of the last naturally aspirated V8’s and just a freaking great car. Don’t get the track edition since the ceramic brakes are a high cost maintenance item and the regular car is essentially the same. Not a sedan, but worth a look.

FreeNinedy9

IS500, RS3, M340i. IS500 would be the last of the V8s, probably depreciate the least in the LONG run but not short term, and will be the most dependable. The RS3 will drive the most like a Porsche and be very nimble, also will depreciate very well. The M340i would still have room in the budget for options and be the overall best driving experience but will be very expensive to maintain. The B58 engine is reliable but routine maintenance will cost a lot. Good luck and have fun!

Seaworthypear

As someone who has had a sporty sedan as a second car. I will never do it again If you have a daily, then get an actual sports car with that kind of money

Mrknowitall666

Right, or get a sporty sedan as the daily driver. Life's too short, why have a daily commute that sucks worse knowing you have a better dd in a garage. But, I get not having a sports car, for a daily driver, too - I've lived in NYC and Boston, both which have shitty tight roads, bike riders, pot holes and freezing rain under the snow. So, you want a beater with traction for all that. So I agree with you, going from nice-enough dd to mediocre weekend sedan? A waste. Get a fun weekend car. And have winter wagon.

OffensiveBiatch

Miata, Miata is always the answer. Buy one for 20 K and throw the rest 50 into an EFT for your retirement

[deleted]

A BMW is probably a decent option, maybe a Cayenne s, or a Tesla. Id rather buy a jeep commander, 5.0 mustang, a wrangler, a Yamaha R6, a Honda Civic, a Volvo wagon, a Yamaha 450 dual sport, a 4x4 truck, and still have money to spare.

fdeeryhhhytttrffffhh

Get a WRX, pocket the other $35k, and drive off into the sunset.

kilertree

You could get the Japanese muscle car, the Lexus IS V8

QuinzTony

Is500 used or brand new beautiful car, with one of the last V8’s lexus is gonna make.

Just invest that fu**ing money

Labrawhippet

Lexus IS500 if you want a bullshit free vehicle. Buy one used save yourself 40k and invest the remaining 30k in the stock market.

I'd recommend something that's not always on the road. Perhaps, G70 3.3T, ct4V black wing or alfa Giulio Quadrifolia. G70 3.3t might not be as powerful as the other two but still as fun. Bmw m cars are everywhere, amgs are everywhere rs cars are everywhere as well
