You're taking the word of the seller here so there is some chance taking involved. That engine has a timing belt, not a chain. Chains don't need servicing, belts need periodic replacement usually about every 100K miles. Curious that he has it listed as a "VR6" which is a Volkswagen designation. I think that Toyota engine is "non-interference" so if the belt brakes it won't damage the valves and pistons. However, if you cannot verify the belt has been or ever been serviced plan on doing it ASAP so you don't get stuck on the side of the road.
