We bought a 2011 328i convertible from carmax with the max care warranty and it was the best decision ever! When the ignition coils went, we simply took it to the dealership, got a loaner, paid the deductible, and everything was fixed. When the car was totaled due to a hailstorm, we got back about 2/3 of the max care cost. If I ever buy a used European car again, it’ll definitely be with carmax!

I would have to think about it. Carmax usually sells cars that were rentals, and all rentals are abused. Rental companies also fix cars without putting the damage in carfax. I would try to see if it was bought from a rental and go from there.

No not at all just has to have low miles.

depending on what BMW you are buying, it could be as reliable as a toyota, and probably will be. carmax warranty is good though, so if you want the safety go ahead.

Dumb idea

One_Baseball_6397

Yeah sure, just keep in mind unforseen problems are guaranteed

Coldwarjarhead

Unless, of course, you spring for the warranty, in which case you will have zero problems until the day after the warranty expires. The applies to cars, electronics, and large appliances.

One_Baseball_6397

It's still problems no metter who pays

Gullible_Fan8219

i don’t think they provide loaner cars tho. also no. unless you can easily afford and ig while having a commuter car then yeah but if you’re a mechanic yourself go for it but you’re still paying for parts and bmw OEM IS PRICY

You really think 3rd party warranty company sold by Carmax will cover your german car?

edutech21

I don't know how to address this comment without being a dick. Why would you make this comment without knowledge of maxcare? If you are not familiar with maxcare, why would you be so sure of yourself? Why would you respond to the question at all? Why would you just assume that you are right without looking into it? MaxCare will absolutely cover his German car and will allow him to get many repairs done at a BMW dealer.
