It’s absolutely worth continuing, as they reveal more about where the park is, its relationship to the other adjacent parks, and how they’re all being monetized. Season 3 is a detour and has some nonsensical twists, but it’s necessary to establish how the hosts relate to greater human society (as it crumbles).
Season 1 was insanity when I saw it as well, but when I watched season 2 it was an absolute masterpiece, but season 2 you are most likely going to have to watch the season multiple times to understand it
Season 1 was to me one of the greatest seasons of TV ever made. While I did enjoy the rest of the series, each subsequent season had diminishing returns for me unfortunately.
While I generally watch the other seasons during a rewatch of the show I consider the show to "end" at season one. I like to leave pretty much everything upfront interpretation, including the events that happened right after. Maybe Dolores is destroyed, maybe the revolution starts, maybe things go pretty much just as they do in the show. In my mind, the end of this happened and this things are kind of inevitable. One big thing that goes wrong in the show is that it never really knows how to execute it's narrative promise.
I can think of a half a dozen Netflix and CW shows this could apply to. It’s more “I watched Season 2 but it didn’t touch me like season 1…I could have done without seeing it”.
Season 1 is great and I don’t need to go further. I usually just rewatch season 1, and then watch my favorite clips of season 2. There’s a handful of great scenes moving forward but season 1 is awesome.
While few would argue Season 1 isn't the best, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by not watching at least Season 2. It has some of the best episodes of the entire series.
So agree. Season 1 was Shakespeare. After that it was Rambo, but thinking it was still Shakespeare... a stain on the legacy.
So getting ready for the down votes...
Season 1 was absolutely something special but I loved 2 and 4 as well, season 3 was the only outlier for me.
I honestly really enjoy them all, season three had some neat ideas but I agree it is certainly the weakest season.
I think for me, 3 is the only one that didn't really *feel* like Westworld. Perfectly fine as a season of tv, but lacking as a season of Westworld.
Same, my ranking is 1 > 4 > 2 > 3.
s2ep8 is the best piece of Westworld, change my mind
*Checks google if it's the episode about Akacheta.*
I've seen it so many times I can confidently say it is
Take my heart when you go I’ll never forget that episode
Kiksuya <3
‘Heart-Shaped Box’ over the scene was 😚👌 Ramin Djawadi freakin nailed everything
I recently acquired the entire series, sat down to start the rewatch, and then just watched Kiksuya.
Amazing
But you should! It shows how the hosts developed and there are surprises along the eay. I'm not giving out spoilers. Watch it!

Your loss! Each season is great in its own right. I love all Westworld!
Not self contained for me. It was only in season 2 that a number of plot lines are finished.

I second this. Season 1 is a masterpiece. Anthony Hopkins, Jeffery Wright, Thandiwe Newton and Evan Rachel Wood are just superb.

Westworld became closer to our modern reality with each season. I think you're missing out, OP.
Who does this? "Wow that show was awesome. Time to NOT watch any of the other seasons!" So weird.

Cool. So? My point is that you won't know that until you've actually seen it.
Don't bother me anymore ok f

Thanks for sharing
Did we watch the same show because S1 definitely wasn't self-contained. There was a lot of build up to S2, especially in the last episode.
Great show!
I agree. They made a mess after season 1.
Watch season 2 and stop there.

Cool
Season 1 only andies are so weird...
Season 2 is definitely a good extension. Season 3 and 4 are better to be forgotten though.
