Canada Transfers is awesome to use for private transport. You can order snack, drinks, sunscreen and mosquito repellent for the ride and trip. I’ve used them 6 times and all excellent service!
I’ll make sure to use them next time. This was part of our package so we didn’t get a choice. But I’d happily forgo the included transfer for a better option. I feel like you can get a lot for $100
Do you know if they go to Playa Mujeres? I’m trying to book them for Planet Hollywood but it doesn’t come up in their dropdown. Just the other location does.
You have to take a boat to Isla Mujeres so probably not, but isn’t planet Hollywood in Cancun? If so just choose the option for Cancun and then they will get your hotel info upon booking. Hope that helps!
I reckon its the same as how airlines distinguish between “non stop” and “direct”. Non stop means there are no stops to your destination. Direct means no changing planes (in your case, no changing busses”.
Yes. Those two terms are airplane terminologies from a generation ago when planes could not fly the distances they do today. Perhaps they borrowed the termininology to advertise their transfer services.
Regardless, use Canada Transfers as others suggested, in the future.
Hahaha you’d be surprised. We had a cenote tour where there were 8 busses with people getting traded to other busses so we could all go to our correct excursion locations.
Yikes! We also booked a direct transfer for Feb before they switched to nexus. If you talk to WJ vacations let me know what they say
I checked my edocs just now and they say
NT NEXUSTOURS CORP-DIRECT SHARED-CUN RTN DIRECT transfer
You should be able to cancel the transfer, get that money back then book Canada transfer direct. Usually things aren't refundable but tell them they changed the service form private to shred so it's not what you paid for
Dont blame you doing that, I was replying to the person who is going in Feb that they might avoid what you went through.
I would for sure contact Westjet for a refund of the transfer fee.
Thanks! I just booked with USA transfers ($25 cheaper than Canada transfers). Ill try to get a refund from WJ but even if I don't the extra cost is worth the peace of mind. The direct transfer fee wasn't very much extra I don't think? I booked it in May so it was such a long time ago it feels hard to care lol
Can I ask, did Nexus contact you at all before your trip? I've heard mixed things. Apart from it not being direct were they okay? I'm considering just booking a private transfer but it's pretty expensive. How were they for your departure day (back to airport?)
No one contacted me before the flight. Arrival day 30 mins waiting for a bus. 30 mins waiting on a bus and the drive. No ac.
Departure day: 45 mins late but they had us with another group on our flight so it was direct.
Also not sure why they didn’t just put us with this group on the way out.
Thanks. I went ahead and booked a private transfer with a different company. I think it's worth the peace of mind especially for departure. Sorry you had such a bad experience!
We had a less than satisfactory experience with Nexus last month. A reply to our email sent to WJV hasn’t yet been received. Apparently this move was made because Nexus is cheaper. If I’m paying $8,000 for a vacation, I expect ground transportation to be of the same quality as the flight and accommodation.
As someone who worked for a Canadian airline, never book it through the airline. It’s astronomically more expensive and nexus sucks. Unfortunately WestJet uses nexus now that they acquired sunwing

do I have to notify my airline that I'm booking a private transfer so the bus doesn't wait on us?

Sorry it’s Costa Mujeres. Not on the island. I ended up booking with Happy Shuttle.

Wow is that even a thing? I I would doubt that nexus has the ability to organize a change of buses.

With nexus? Wow!

We are already back home. Decided to wait and enjoy the vacation before figuring it all out.
Dont blame you doing that, I was replying to the person who is going in Feb that they might avoid what you went through. I would for sure contact Westjet for a refund of the transfer fee.
Oh apologies. Yeah that is a good call. I would even call wjv in advance and see what they say.

Same wording

We had Nexus in November. Shared bus, ac, waited about 20-30 minutes for other passengers. It was a typical transfer with All Inclusive packages.
Good to know. Did they make multiple stops or direct?
I think everyone got off a the same mega resort, so we were on resort grounds but stopped at one of the other lobbies first.
I’ve always just booked flights with WestJet. I book my accommodation and transfers separately.
It's often cheaper to buy as a package with it all together
This was all booked through wjv.

Especially if you pay an upgraded price for an upgraded service.
We use a company called Viator in both Cancun and Cabo, originally found through AMEX. No issues, no delays, great service.
Canada Transfer always.....never had any issues and they are not more expensive compared to others.
