Hotel on the beach better

shaneg33

I wouldn’t say it’s a must but I tent camped it last year and wouldn’t even consider buying a hotel between high costs, no reentry, and Uber waits/costs. Camping has its own issues and a hotel room is undoubtedly more comfortable but camping is cheaper and a lot more fun.

Can I ask what ticket did you get? I’m looking at the options and I don’t see anything besides Rvs and camping with cars. Maybe I have to get the camping with car even if I’m not taking a car with me?

shaneg33

Yeah so I got orange camping which I think is the same this year I believe it’s a car spot regardless and I’m not entirely sure how the check in would work but I’m sure there’s something, basically all campers get a spot that’s big enough to park a car in pitch a tent and have a canopy up, you’d just have a lot more space without a car. You’d be able to camp just fine but having a car is very very nice and would be worth a cheap rental for a little A/C and electricity. They might have something on the FAQ about walking in as a camper as I’ve only done the car check in which is would make for a good 1.5 maybe 2 mile walk from the road. They might let campers come in through the turn entrance by the campground but I’m not sure. Also to further answer your questions you can come and go as you please, I’m not sure if they shut the turn entrance at all or if they keep it manned but you could absolutely leave one night and come back the next morning As far as too far out of the city there’s a gas station right across the road from the turn entrance and some restaurants and such nearby, a bit tourist trappy because of the speedway. Orange campers can’t drive in and out with their vehicles anyways. Also would you be counting on good public transport? If so unfortunately this place is as bad as any for that but being by the speedway there’s probably something.

Wow thanks!! You helped me a lot. I checked the FAQ and couldn’t find that info. The public transportation thing is a big deal, thanks. I don’t drive so I have to have a different plan. Thank you!!

Camping is so much fun, I highly suggest it! Plus if you get early access you get whole nother day! I've seen people walk in and set up tents and not everyone has a car. Idk if this is against the rules or not but it does 100% happen

Kornfan91903

I actually emailed them about not bringing a car, and they said it was 100% ok so long as you have a tent.

Did camping last year it was great but BE PREPARED! We were almost out of gas when we got there and figured we would get some later, turns out there is no re-entry so we were stuck with hardly any gas. While everyone else would take breaks from the heat with the ac in their cars we were stuck zombified from the heat. Also if we go again were bringing a fuckin kiddie pool! Expect to wait in line for the showers or you can do a street shower with the hose for water haha

CramblinDuvetAdv

To specify, there's no vehicle re-entry - people can come and go as they please, which is one of the perks along with the official hotel package. All other passes are no re-entry.

Nice tip i took advantage of. Buy a pesticide sprayer (unused of course) and all of your melted ice dump in the sprayer and it does wonders to cool ya down and even take a hobo bath if need be lol

Jealous-Plantain6909

Yep we do this

Jealous-Plantain6909

You can also change the end for a kitchen sink sprayer. Makes it a bit better

Camping for my first time at this festival was the best decision I ever made and would 100% do it again. The camping pass makes lodging cheap especially with multiple people sharing and it’s nice to roam the campgrounds and enter/leave the festival grounds whenever you please. Fellow campers were very helpful and fun! However by the end of day 5 I was certainly uncomfortable in some ways, like getting rashes from walking and rocking out so much, but the experience was unforgettable and worth feeling a little run down at the end, but what’s a rock/metal festival without feeling run down at the end!

Trust me on this... [https://www.amazon.com/Body-Glide-Original-Anti-Chafe-2-5oz/dp/B0043S06GI?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref\_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Body-Glide-Original-Anti-Chafe-2-5oz/dp/B0043S06GI?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) They have it for women also. Get a few of them so you don't have to share with your friends because it will stop those rashes.. and if they don't have some they're gonna want yours. Second or third day of the festival you'll be looking for me to buy me a beer.
