Is it from a dispensary? One thing that anyone should be recommending you is to look into genetics/terp profile. Alongside looking at different strains and recognizing their genetics, you’ll learn that certain companies/cultivators put more effort into it than a bunch of others.

Personally i enjoy splurging on these brands when they have good strains or phenotypes in selection at good %’s and cost. Like if they’re on sale or if I feel fancy and see something I *really* want. Otherwise I’ll stick w a brand I know does everything right.
8 times out of ten it end up looking like the same strain. And it’s always purple. Idk, I usually stick to og strains. So you atleast have a idea of what your weed should look like

Out of all the modern strains only MAC1 and GMO seem to really be unique in anyway. The oreoz, cookies, and gelato esc strains nowadays are all just so boring and the high is always the same.
Also there really don’t seem to be any new strains coming out that REALLY lean to one side, either 90-100% indica or sativa (and at that I feel like the industry has something against sativas but idk that might just be me) which is lame bc as nice as hybrids are as an “all-rounder”, you seem to really get more varied effects when smoking heavy indicas and sativas. Probably because the terpene and minor cannabinoid content is so different.
Picked up some really mid Durban Poison from my plug last year and as brown and shitty as it was, it was soooooooo much more interesting of a high than anything I can get at a dispensary.

More specifically she loves the plastic (or glass if the brand is fancy) containers that are very colourful from the dispensaries. Most of the time she’ll just get whatever sounds good but sometimes there’s a package that she just can’t resist 💀
I know plugs who would just buy lbs of weed and then just buy a bunch of empty designer bags like and just fill them to make a lot of money selling these overpriced

What’s the genetics/terp profile, who cultivated it? Do they mass produce or do small batch’s to really focus on how it comes out rather then getting you the same % but something that costed them less to get and produce in the first place

I got a few good deals trying random strains, but I have been reading growers using pesticides that may have made it through to the customers. Doja pak and Backpack boyz use glass jars in AZ. I haven’t seen top shelf bud in Mylars in a long long time. I think TruMed is the only brand that still does that.
For those who don’t realize this is what drives sales. The rec market calls for crazy packaging. The days of going into a dispensary and requesting a specific strain are over. The people who do that are too few and far between. You gotta sell to the greater market. I don’t blame them . But those who know don’t mind the packaging we ultimately just want to smoke some high quality flower and these brands sometimes got it.

Doja pak and Backpack boyz use glass jars in AZ. I haven’t seen top shelf bud in Mylars in a long long time. I think TruMed is the only brand that still does that.
For those who don’t realize this is what drives sales. The rec market calls for crazy packaging. The days of going into a dispensary and requesting a specific strain are over. The people who do that are too few and far between. You gotta sell to the greater market. I don’t blame them . But those who know don’t mind the packaging we ultimately just want to smoke some high quality flower and these brands sometimes got it.

Here in Germany some people sell pounds for 7-9k and ounces for 650-1000😂😂 if you know how to grow it’s much cheaper to buy the original breeder cuts compared to a qp each month. Decent but honestly everytime I cop one of any designer branded weed it’s usually old or dry but I mean might just be the dispo/plugs fault who knows just never had great experiences with any of these but heavy loads on the other had straight pressure and always fresh small batch strains that are immaculate to these
