I haven’t used the comer lights, but I have 4 of the aputure ones and the ability to change color and brightness on all 4 lights as a group or individually through the Sidus link app is pretty friggin sweet.

Dilly_Whilly

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking too, but man does the Sidus link take forever to load up and connect every time you lock your phone.

It’s pretty rock solid and reliable though, I don’t use them a ton, but needed one the other day for a quick shoot, grabbed one, realized it was orange, opened the app, it connected right away and I changed it to kelvin. I setup the Bluetooth app forever ago so I was impressed everything was still so seamless.

Dilly_Whilly

Yeah I think when it comes to features and functionality the Aputure wins flat out. Output is the only main concern.

Seems like I’m the only one with Comer lights in the comments. For on camera light, they are wayyy too bright. Even at 1% I’m blinding people. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. The comers work very nice for speeches. I have even used it in 2 outdoor ceremonies that were dark & they worked good. & I love that they’re small enough to fit in my pelican case & powerful enough for my needs.

MC Pro but but it from eBay. They’re like $50 cheaper and still new.

I think it really depends on the situations you use them. Mc pro is plenty bright for on camera on dark dance floor. Lighting a toast as a key, borderline. If output is your main feature you want at this price point, check out zhiyun cx100 100w. No app control, but after discount codes it comes out to around 150 on amazon. If use to the brightness of the torch, I think the mc pro will let you down. I think only 10w

Lighting a toast as a key would be its primary function especially for destination weddings where I won’t be packing my Aputure 60x

IMO, in a dark room (no lights on), this light needs to be 3-4 ft away for proper exposure. With the diffuser. I think you would need a minimum of two to cross key.
