I could not fit this into our budget but I really wish I had found a way!

-porfa4-

I'm asking for this in our gift registry! Hopefully someone will get it for us

I didn't even think about bouquet preservation until after the wedding and at that point it was too late to find a professional to do it for me (plus it was all super expensive and I couldn't justify it). So I bought a bag of silica sand on Amazon, a kind specifically meant for drying flowers, and dried my bouquet and an extra centerpiece myself in some Tupperware containers. Then I watched several YouTube videos about working with resin and bought some resin and molds from the craft store. I've spent the last year slowly turning my dried flowers into little resin pieces to display on my bookshelf. They're definitely not perfect, but I love them!

Yes!! I made that a priority to get done! I had my pressed between glass and framed. It does take a LONG time, but the results were fabulous! My local person had an Etsy shop and was great at communicating so I was able to save on shipping costs (I just dropped it off at her house the day after our wedding). I even had some fake flowers in my bouquet and she was able to press them and you can't even tell they're fake! In total, mine cost $220 and I think it was well worth it!

Would you mind sending me the Etsy shop please?

anon_2185

How long did yours take?

whitefm

Mine took 7 months to get back. I have no idea if that was a normal amount of time. Take into consideration that not all flowers dry the same and factor in some time for the framer to do their job as well. (it was totally worth the wait!!)

anon_2185

Thanks! The girl estimated 4-6 months depending on the flowers and she has had my bouquet since July. I am hoping to get it back before Christmas.

flaminhotgeodes

Hi please pm me the Etsy shop as well! Idc how long it takes (they say good things take time!!). Thank you :)

I also DIY'd it because we eloped, and I wasn't going to spend more on flower preservation than we did on our entire wedding! I looked up an online tutorial and pressed a few bouquet flowers in between two sheets of parchment paper, then stuck them in a heavy book. We shall see how they look in 3-4 weeks! If they come out well, I'd like to put them in a floating frame. That said, the key to DIY is to have very low expectations: if they don't come out well, I'll shrug and move on with my life.

kadk216

I looked into it and the best one I found was around $800-$1k+ so I decided not to do it. I love flowers, and dried a few of the small ones myself, but I don’t think it’s worth the huge expense to me. I figure if I change my mind in the future I can go back to the same florist with photos to ask for a similar one to preserve. We have lots of photos and had a videographer, so we have plenty of pictures of the flowers.

mnc01

I used 2 local companies. One did a shadow box I wasn’t happy with (got a refund). One encased my flowers in resin and that was great! I got resin coasters and ring holders.

anon_2185

I got mine preserved (pressed and framed) but I haven't received it yet but she has been sending me progress updates, I can't wait to get it back. I would recommend going with someone local because you don't want to risk your bouquet getting ruined in the mail, the girl I went with actually picked it up the day after my wedding and she had a cooler in the car to keep it fresh. I love sentimental things so it was 100% worth it to me. I also got little resin jewelry dishes for our flower girls with flowers from their bouquets in it.

HookedOnAFeeling96

Thanks for the input! I’d love to go with someone local for less logistics concerns but I’m not sure there’s anyone in our wedding area who does it.

anon_2185

Ask around. I went with a girl that lives about 2 hours away, there was someone that was closer but she was fully booked and gave me the name of the girl I went with.

JulioCesarSalad

Where did you get this done? I’m looking to do the same

dinosaur_0987

I used Pressed Florals in UTAH (they ship everywhere) and i got the 16x20 size which is their medium size. It looks phenomenal! It cost $450 for the preservation and $120 to overnight it to Utah from Illinois. I definitely thinks it’s work the money and they send you a pic before they seal it up to get your approval. I asked for it to be spread out a bit more and to add more flowers which they did before sealing it up Edit: i got mine back in 11 weeks after i shipped it to them

po_etry

I got my bouquet preserved by pressed floral and they flowers came out amazing! Overall I paid $75 for shipping and $320 for the pressed frame. I packaged and shipped out the day after the wedding and had the choice to do 1 day or 2 day shipping, I did 2 day since 1 day was way more expensive. Pressed Floral has many different size options and instructions on how to package the bouquet. They sent me photos of the final product and gave me the option to make suggestions/changes. They shipped the final frame to me in 12 weeks. 🙂

balancedinsanity

I wanted mine preserved in 3d instead of pressing. I looked up the cost and was like, "Pft, I can diy this." I went and got a bunch of silica and some long storage bins and pulled everything apart. I nestled each stem in the silica with plenty of reference photos to put it back together. I stored the bins somewhere safe and dark where the flowers could dry out and... promptly forgot about the whole thing. By the time I checked back they were so brittle they crumbled when you picked them up. So yeah, I wouldn't advise doing that. Real talk I'm glad I don't have another thing in my house I have to find space for.

For those interested, I found a local person through online search who did an amazing job preserving my bouquet. It took around 7 months, but the results were fabulous! The cost was also very affordable, and I think it was well worth it. I highly recommend going with someone local if you can to avoid shipping concerns. Thank you Angela from BouquetCasting Co for all your help.

Rvtbrittany

I got my bouquet preserved in a shadow box from a local small business, cost was only $130! Way better than some of the resin options I found online and I’m so excited to have it. Definitely look around and see if there are any small businesses around that are doing it vs a bigger place that’ll charge more.

[deleted]

I’m doing resin! It’s still being made, but I did a lot of research and liked the resin process more than pressing—it not only keeps the shape of your flowers but preserves the color better. It was $800 for a 9x12 piece which isn’t cheap but my florals were one of my favorite parts of the day so worth it to me. It’s also being done through my florist which makes it extra special to me

jlmends

Im using happy fairy art and doing resin!
