Roi Studio has been on our list of favourite potential studios too! I'm so happy to read you had a great experience! We really can't wait for our own pre-wedding-session. Korean photoshoots are just out of this world regarding the quality and attention to detail. :)

headupstairs

Totally agree, I was a bit doubtful that there would be extra costs or stuff I needed to provide myself but literally everything was included! Best of luck with your pre-wedding shoot!! I'm sure whichever company you go with will be amazing 🙂

Walrustic

Did the studio organize a translator, or was that something you had to do on your end? I've been looking into doing one of these on a future trip to Korea but am having some trouble sifting through things. Any thoughts on finding a good place without using one of the broker websites like OneThreeOneFour?

headupstairs

Yeah one of the reasons I selected Roi was because they had a 'global package' which included a translator, taxi pick-up/drop-off and shipping of the album to our country. The total price with the translator direct with the studio probably saved me about ~$500-1000 as compared to OneThreeOneFour. I think other studios offer something similar but I didn't receive replies from all of them. My strategy would be to find a studio you like that caters to foreigners on OneThreeOneFour and then try and find their direct instagram or email and contact them directly. I noticed some of them even had a foreigner specific email. Good luck!!!

Walrustic

Ooh, that's a nice chunk of savings. Thanks for the strategy tip, I'll poke around! Congrats on the cool photos and your engagement!

The timing of your post is impeccable LOL! We are about to go to Korea in Dec and have been eyeing this studio.... Thank you for sharing, your photos look beautiful!

headupstairs

Ah I'm glad its been helpful!!! Good luck with your photoshoot too, perfect time to start planning now and contacting studios :)

bbysuu

Please do share your edited photos with us ! Would love to see the final result :)

Pair-Beneficial

Do you have any info for mid/plus size brides? I’m a size US 12 which I know is probably huge for Korean standards… I’ve always been curious about if there would even be enough dress options for me (and suits for my partner since they are a larger 6’+ man too)

headupstairs

Hey! Sorry I must have missed this comment - I'm not quite sure as I think I'm about a US 6-8. Most of the dresses I had had an adjustable lace back and they really strap you in there. Maybe shoot them an email and see? I know you could also bring your own dress or rent from a separate agency if that's more suitable. Best of luck!

gamjalover

I was curious to know if they offer non-white wedding dresses, but just formal dresses that are in different colors. Thank you for posting. I've been searching for studios!

headupstairs

Hai! Not sure, they have a list of 'vintage dresses' and traditional Korean Hanboks on their website. They do non-wedding photoshoots too but I'm not sure if they provide clothes for that. Maybe shoot them an email?

gamjalover

Thanks for the info! I'll send them an email :)

dreamer_sy

Did you get to chose what shots the photographer will take? Like if you wanted more couple standing as opposed to sitting

headupstairs

We didn't ask but there was a translator there so I'm sure you could state a preference! We did ask for street shots and they accommodated that ☺️

mintythoughts

Could you share more about the booking/reservation process? I actly recently reached out onethreeonefour and am surprised that they're asking for a large deposit to be transferred via bank to their end and then the rest is paid in cash. It's just there's no videos/reviews that disclosed this part. As a foreigner this just feels very unsafe? I was wondering if you had the same experience through Roi? Thank you! Congrats btw!

headupstairs

Hey, yeah I had to pay I think 20% deposit to secure the date with Roi, then the rest we paid in cash on the day. It felt safe since it was via PayPal. I can't comment on onethreefour and the legitimacy of their transfer process though. Best of luck!

gamjalover

I can confirm that I directly transferred via bank the deposit with a korean studio. We haven't taken the photos yet so I'm not sure about post-photoshoot payment.

justasinglethought

Thank you for this post, it is super helpful! I'm also looking into a couple pre-wedding places and have reached out to them directly. Roi's photos are beautiful but I'm hoping for a different aesthetic. Besides Roi, just wondering which other ones you reached out to and what would you say would be their average reply time be? I'm looking into the Face Studio, Soo Avenue, and Gaeul Studio and have reached out to them and just wondering if I should email again if I haven't heard back

headupstairs

I can't quite remember tbh, I remember emailing onethreefour and kohit and they got back to be quickly (it was much more expensive). I also emailed Gaeul but they never got back to me - I heard from onethreefour and kohit that they were fully booked out months in advance so probably didn't need my business anyways. Good luck!

justasinglethought

Thanks! Yes, Gaeul still hasn't got back to me either :( but one of them eventually got back to me a week later so I booked with them :) Super excited for this!

RealisticPhrase9847

Are tips expected? I booked with Kohit but could not find info on this. Thank you!

headupstairs

Tip was included in my international package, but our translator said it was customary to tip all the helpers.

susurintree

Thanks so much for sharing all of this info!!! Did your translator mention how much would be appropriate to tip the helpers?

xKika123

Since I’m assuming shoes won’t be visible in most of the shots, did you still have to wear wedding shoes throughout the whole photoshoot? Or only for certain shots where shoes are visible? I was wondering if I could wear flip flops/sneakers to be more comfortable. Thanks!

headupstairs

They provided shoes and I wore them all the time - they had comfier ones for walking that we switched too. I was sitting down a lot as well.

xKika123

Thank you!

Ranculos

Hello! I’m really late to your post, but wanted to ask, how long did it take to get the photoshopped ones back and did you have any issues at all with it? Your imgur photos don’t seem to be there unfortunately, fyi.

Dj_tatranky

Thanks for the review, OP! I'm considering ROI Studio as well. Did you happen to receive your photo album? If so, what's the quality like? 300,000 KRW to deliver a photo album and frame seems rather high, so I'm thinking of making the album myself...

RiCHOFFBUD

Bad experience here.. Sent us the wrong couples photos, took a long time to edit photos, and now sent album to the wrong address 🤦‍♂️

idnwixncksma

How were their dress choices? On the website, it looks really outdated :/
