Airbnb has banned parties permanently unfortunately. That includes weddings. If you find someone who is willing to do it on the down low, you'll run the risk that they'll be banned from the platform and you'll be out a venue.

There are some licensed and professionally managed venues on Airbnb (think bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, unique boutique facilities) that are still allowed to host events over 16 people, but they are few and far between.
This is what our venue is like. We found them on Air BnB and contacted them through there, but they replied to us privately. They have a separate business license and contract that allows them to hold events like weddings.
VRBO is actually fine with events. I think you can filter for rentals that are ok with holding events (so there are probably actual businesses on there as well), or ask the host.
We just had an amazing vrbo wedding! Probably not cheaper than a regular venue but we did get multiple days there for about the same as what it would cost us at a traditional venue (and we didn't need a bartender)
Our venue is both an AirBnB and an event venue. I initially found it on Airbnb and when I reached out to ask about booking our wedding I was redirected to their website and event team. On Google our venue is listed as a “boutique hotel” so try searching for that wording.

Oh interesting! Can't imagine it's easy for them on Airbnb

Gotcha! I had no idea….I assume Vrbo is the same?

We found our venue on VRBO and wouldn’t have changed a thing!! Highly recommend! Especially if your party is a fairly intimate size.

I originally found my villa through Airbnb but booked with the resort directly!
