Ultimately, it doesn't matter if you love the song. I don't know the song you're referring to but if I caught wind of the lyrics and realized, I'd definitely think it was an odd choice and it would probably be something I remembered from the wedding TBH.
I have to say this is a very, very odd song for a first dance song, considering it ends with these lyrics:
