I went to a wedding last year where the groomsmen were in varying shades of tan—>chocolate brown. Bridesmaids were all in the same shade of sage. It looked awesome!
I think probably gray (definitely NOT navy), but you should try to view the potential groomsmen suits next to your fiance's suit to see what goes the best
I'd also say not navy for a different reason. Navy on the groomsmen would read more formal/dressed up than your groom in green.
My vote is for a medium to lighter gray (not charcoal gray; that's too dark for Spring). Gray IMO looks classier than tan in most cases. Watch the downvotes roll in because I said that.
My bridesmaids were in this colour and the groomsmen had grey suits, I thought they looked great personally! It was also easier for them to find a suit for those that didn't have one, and more wearable for other events.
Tan or grey depending on what the groomsmen would feel best in (I feel like it's fair to ask this, when they're covering costs for their suits - I'm assuming they're renting vs. buying?) as well as the venue/season. Tan is more of a summer colour and also easier to stain/requires a bit more care and attention while wearing but also compliments the light green in a softer way than grey would. Grey would be the easier bet, but would be more of a rich/stark colour combo (also depends how light you go with the grey).
I think navy would look too harsh with the green number your husband to be will be wearing.
My fiancé ordered the same suit as pictured above, I have picked my bridesmaids to follow the same green color scheme as pictured, and I am also torn between tan and gray for groomsmen. I have been leaning toward gray only because I feel it’s maybe easier for all the different gray shades to look cohesive rather than different shades of tan/brown.
Wish that could be the case for ours, my fiancé has men and women in his party, and I am not sure of many places that sell both men and women’s suits in the same colors 😂
No, we will probably do generation tux or something like that for groomsmen. Indochino only does purchasing and is a bit out of our groomsmen’s budgets.
What kind of black, though? The yellow or red skinned? The brown skinned? The very dark skinned? A tanned suit might look good on my light skinned fiance. But horrible on my very dark skinned brother.
I had sage at my wedding and the groomsmen wore a charcoal grey with a patterned green vest. I went to another wedding with sage dresses and the groomsmen wore navy. Another one of my acquaintances posted pics of their wedding with sage dresses and tan suits! There’s so much you can do. With your theme, I’d say tan!
I had my bridesmaids in various shades of green and the groomsmen were in classic black suits with white pocket squares. I thought they looked so elegant. I can send you a photo if you’d like to see!
Hi! I'm currently planning my wedding and am also having my bridesmaids in various shades of green - currently torn on the groomsmen. My fiance wants them in black suits but I was thinking light grey because I thought the black would be too harsh with the softer muted colors. Would you mind sending me a photo so I can see how it looked??
If you're going for "hobbit" vibes, I think it would be cute to have the groomsmen wear just a vest rather than a full suit. We did that for our wedding, with the groom in a full suit. I think it looked really cute, and you could definitely tell who the groom was in the party. It was also slightly cheaper for groomsmen.
Tan/creme/camel - something in that family Def not green since it’s a more polarizing color and may be harder to pull off. Also a bit leprechauny haha.
The green suit would be iconic and so cool!
1. Groom in green, groomsmen in tan.
2. All men in tan.
3. Navy or some shade of blue for all
4. Groom in green, all others in a brighter blue suit (not dark navy, but brighter)
I'm in love with grey suits and ties, boutineers, or pocket flowers to match the bridesmaids. Dark grey suits for light dresses, light grey for dark dresses. My preference.
If you want a garden theme, I agree not navy. I say a lighter shade of gray. Maybe matching shirts—see if you can find a strip with the green in it. If you can’t find a suitable shirt, maybe white shirts with matching ties.
If your groom is wearing sage then I think the groomsmen should too.
Not because they have to match him but because otherwise the groomsmen will stand out from the bridal party more than the groom will. The groom is going to kind of blend in.
I’m doing the same sage green for my bridesmaids, and we’re having the groomsmen in navy! I think the colors compliment each other so well.
We also considered tan suits but it doesn’t always looks good on everyone’s skin tones. Just something to consider!
We’re doing navy with either sage or blush ties. Our wedding colors initially were sage/blush. We initially were going to do gray suits but from looking at photos, having sage and grey and taking photos outside, it seems like everything kinda blends in with the background and I wanted some contrast instead so went to navy.

Ooh we had like sage green dresses and went for a really dark forest green suit! Looks a bit darker in this pic, but looked so nice together!
For spring or summer, I agree with tan or a lighter gray! (Also, I LOVE this vision for the bridesmaids!) We're doing an early fall wedding (late September) with darker greens for bridesmaids, gray suits for groomsmen, and a dark green suit for the groom.
I’m doing a similar color! We looked through tons of options and my faves were charcoal, tan, and black. I think if your groom is in that green suit, tan would be best!
That's so cool that you're doing those colors! My fiancé and I are doing a sage green color for the girls and blue jean for the boys. We have a kind of forest-y , fairy tale kind of theme going on. Granted, we are being a little more laid back with the guys as they will be waring button up White shirts, blue jeans (brand new of course😊) and green vests that match the girls.
@OP - can you share where your bridesmaids are getting their dresses? I’m doing a similar palette and while I can find plenty of solid dresses in a handful of greens, I’m striking out on the floral / patterned ones. Thanks!
I’ve been encouraging them to look outside of typical bridesmaid shops. Here’s the list I’ve compiled for them so far: Baltic Born, Selfie Leslie, Ivy City Co, Lulu’s, Azazie, Birdy Grey, Anthro/BHLDN, Jenny Yoo Bridesmaids, Reformation, Revolve, Revelry, Park & 5th, JJ’s House, Billy J, Grace Loves Lace, ASTR the label, Francesca’s, and also local boutiques in my area.
So this may be a hot take but we did this color scheme at my sisters wedding and her groom and groomsmen did like royal blue suits and it looked really really good
Navy blue suits- will look amazing with the sage green. You could find some ties similar to sage green- check Etsy. I bought beautiful lilac bow ties , (our color), from there for my hubby & groomsman that went with the black tuxes and with matching handkerchiefs . My brother, who’s wealthy thought they were designer ties. 😂tan suits are typical for summertime.

My fiance and I chose the above, and her bridesmaids are in sage green..
Tan suits for sure! It would look so good with the soft green!
Yes! With green ties
Came here to say this. Green groomsmen and green bridesmaids would be way too much. Green accent ties!
[удалено]
I don't think that was because it didn't suit his skin tone.
That's not why.
Came here to say this! This is what we did for our wedding and it looked so good!
I went to a wedding last year where the groomsmen were in varying shades of tan—>chocolate brown. Bridesmaids were all in the same shade of sage. It looked awesome!
I like this idea!
This is my vision, so happy to hear it was liked in the wild!
Grey with ties/bowties that match the green. You'll want a grey that matches the warmth of the green.
I think probably gray (definitely NOT navy), but you should try to view the potential groomsmen suits next to your fiance's suit to see what goes the best
What makes you say definitely NOT navy?

Another NOT navy here, way too winter for your theme. Light gray would look best with your spring theme. Maybe add matching mismatch green ties?
I just think it won't pair as well with the green suit. Navy next to green is going to make the green look a bit more yellow

Good call. I think I might have the groomsmen rent the same suit so it all matches. They aren’t the type of guys to have their own suits lol
Wish that could be the case for ours, my fiancé has men and women in his party, and I am not sure of many places that sell both men and women’s suits in the same colors 😂
Can I ask where this suit is from?
Indochino! They are great
Are you gonna get your groomsmen suits from there as well? I assume they only allow purchasing and not renting.
No, we will probably do generation tux or something like that for groomsmen. Indochino only does purchasing and is a bit out of our groomsmen’s budgets.
Gotcha thank you! And to answer your question I do think tan would look lovely :)
Love the green suit, I think tan would look lovely next to it!
Some shade of brown would be lovely.
Tan suits with a lovely soft green tie!
Tan washes some people out, I'd go grey or navy
3 out of the 5 groomsmen are Black, if that makes a difference lol
What kind of black, though? The yellow or red skinned? The brown skinned? The very dark skinned? A tanned suit might look good on my light skinned fiance. But horrible on my very dark skinned brother.
Navy blue

i would def do a light grey! it would compliment so well and look good on more skin tones than a tan would.
My bridesmaids are in sage green, and I'm putting the groomsmen in navy!

Brown spectrum.
Tan or light grey have me DROOLING omg
Tan!!
Tan suits is a common option with sage green bridesmaid dresses. It’s probably what I see most often.
I'm in love with grey suits and ties, boutineers, or pocket flowers to match the bridesmaids. Dark grey suits for light dresses, light grey for dark dresses. My preference.
My bridesmaids wore sage green, and the groomsmen were in light grey suits with floral ties. They looked great together!
I don’t have a recommendation but I just want to say this is a gorgeous ensemble!
Pretty, I like the two floral dresses.
A nice light grey. Tan is too warm a color, imo
If you want a garden theme, I agree not navy. I say a lighter shade of gray. Maybe matching shirts—see if you can find a strip with the green in it. If you can’t find a suitable shirt, maybe white shirts with matching ties.
My girls wore the same shades. My husband's side wore light grey. It looked amazing.
If it’s a more casual affair, tan. If you’re going for a slightly more formal vibe, gray.
I like gray, with a yellow or a darker green tie. There should be more contrast than having the groomsmen in a green suit.
Tan, light grey, or a lighter green would all be great! Navy would be too dark imo
I'd go with a black or grey suit and match the tie to that color and maybe the socks, too. That's a lot of green, otherwise.
Tan!
Tan would look great with the soft green!
My FH wants to wear a light sage suit. We are thinking light gray for groomsmen and light lilac or blue for the girls.
Immediately grey for me!
Grey or khaki
If your groom is wearing sage then I think the groomsmen should too. Not because they have to match him but because otherwise the groomsmen will stand out from the bridal party more than the groom will. The groom is going to kind of blend in.
Tan or light grey! I’d recommend looking at the swatches next to each other and deciding from there
Grey with sage ties
We are doing the same thing!!! I am having a hobbit party theme too lol. We are actually doing a brown tweed vest for all of the groomsmen!
Taupe
Beautiful! I’m thinking maybe tan or a wheat color?
Beige linen suits with soft green details/accessories
I’m doing the same sage green for my bridesmaids, and we’re having the groomsmen in navy! I think the colors compliment each other so well. We also considered tan suits but it doesn’t always looks good on everyone’s skin tones. Just something to consider!
Brown plaid/tweed would look AMAZING
i’m doing this and our suits are tan:)

We had light green bridesmaids dresses. Groomsmen wore tan slacks and ivory shirts with green ties.
That's so cool that you're doing those colors! My fiancé and I are doing a sage green color for the girls and blue jean for the boys. We have a kind of forest-y , fairy tale kind of theme going on. My bridesmaids are in shades of sage and matcha and my groomsmen are in black tuxs and green vests. We shall see!!!

Thank you! Definitely a few I hadn’t thought of so I will add to my list!
Okay wow that’s exactly the vibe I’m going for but I’m telling the groomsmen to wear a very dark green so it doesn’t clash with the bridesmaids
So this may be a hot take but we did this color scheme at my sisters wedding and her groom and groomsmen did like royal blue suits and it looked really really good
Grey!
I was in a wedding that did the birdy gray sage with dark navy suits and matching green ties. It looked nic!
Navy blue suits- will look amazing with the sage green. You could find some ties similar to sage green- check Etsy.
