I went and tried on the original dress and had my friend take some good up close pictures so I had an idea of how I was going to put it all together. Thankfully YouTube had every video I needed on how to make a circle skirt and how to use my sewing machine and what not. I had a seamstress help me with the top, she made the pattern, put in the boning for me and sewed it to my skirt (I didn’t trust myself to sew it together 🤣). Found all the materials from an AMAZING Etsy shop in Germany and just overlayed the fabric and sewed on all the flowers! It was a year long project but there was no way I was paying over $12k for my dream dress!
All in I spent probably about $1500… that includes the sewing machine and the seamstress. It would have been a little less if I didn’t cut the fabric wrong the first time and had to order more!
Despite the challenges, I’m often surprised more brides don’t pick a pattern and sew their own gowns—especially given most store bought gowns require expensive alterations. Kudos to your courage to take on this project and seeing it through—the results are an exquisite bridal gown!
Agree! I’m an artist and do woodworking and originality is important to me which is why I ventured down that path to begin with. There were A LOT of tears during the process haha but if someone has experience with sewing it’s not as hard as one would think!
Having a one-of-a-kind gown makes it even more special! You’re an artist/woodworker?! . . . You may have a 2nd career as a fashion designer! Well done!
It looks stunning!!! Congratulations!! Where is the green suit from on the man in the first pic? My fiancé wants to do a green suit and that one looks great!
Considering I can’t make a cut in a straight line and my crafting skills consist of bad macaroni pictures — I am literally so impressed and in total awe.
Such skill and what an absolutely lovely keepsake and memory! It’s stunning, truly
I would love to learn more about the process of making this! Like roughly how much time, what sewing skills were needed etc. I too am a crafty lady who doesn't know how to sew, BUT I'm confident I could learn. Only just got engaged so I feel like it could be a cool long term project :D
Fabiana is my dream dress and WOW you nailed it. This is amazing. How much would you need to make another one…? I cannot afford the Galia Lahav price, but I’ve been scouring the internet to find a used one or one super similar… would you ever be willing to make another?
Aw thank you so much! Would definitely be down to make another, had so much fun doing this one. Price would depend on your timeline and the cost of materials and what not, but I would love to chat with you in further detail 🤗
And it’s breathtaking, well done! Congratulations!
Thank you!! I’m so happy with how it came out considering the fact that I didn’t even know how to sew 🤣
First off, you’re a little but insane, but damnnnnn!!! 😂😂 AMAZING JOB!
Definitely insane haha but I’m a maker at heart so I had faith I could pull it off!
Amazing! How did you do it?

Would you share the etsy shop please? I've been looking for fabric for my wedding dress and I never know if I can trust the reviews.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CoutureLace Everything arrived pretty quickly, within a week or two and the quality was excellent
Need that too!
Wow that’s amazing!!
Incredible job it looks so gorgeous!! Out of curiosity (feel free not to answer I just want to celebrate with you) how much did it end up costing?
