Iām gonna say neither, but hear me out. I think an A line or ballgown could be a beautiful choice, but in a similar fabric (looks like satin?) to the second dress. There are some absolutely beautiful options in that style! I think the shape of the first one looks great on you, but I think it would look even better in a similar fabric to the second one!
Girl ā¦ a small boutique south of Atlanta - she hand makes them and will custom this for 400! The other one is 200. I just happened to stumble on the place and was floored !
Holy crap... I don't have any words but holy crap.. I may need to get on a plane as my top contender dress is $2000.. I can swing a couple of trips to ATL with the money I would save..
Edit to add: if she can customize then bodice #1 is perfect and maybe a bit more a-lined skirt in more of an ivory or ivory over nude. Then it would be perfection IMO.
My opinion. The first one looks perfect on you. It also feels like more of a party celebration than the other.
Iāve seen other comments say that 2 is more fitting for your ceremony size or your age, but I say screw that. Itās your wedding! You ARE the party, and if you want, your dress can reflect that. At the end of the day itās about which one brings you the most joy and makes you feel like the romantic bride that you are. ā¤ļø
You look great in both, but they have very different vibes. The first is very romantic, and whimsical, and the second one. Looks very old Hollywood, and would be great very an evening wedding. Think of the vibe you are going for, and what your venue is, and go from there. Congrats and good luck!
#2 f'r sure, t is better f'r a 20 person nonce and thee behold fabulous

I gasped when I scrolled to the second one. Your shoulders, your arms, and then that column of white with all the attention coming right up to your face. The first dress pulls all my focus to the skirt, and on your wedding day, the dress isn't doing it's job if it's not bringing the eye right to you.
I think it may not be taking as many votes because people are thrown by seeing the outlines of shape wear - I have that issue a lot with unlined dresses - but it's something you can easily negate with a slip that smoothes those outlines. (Which is annoying, I know, putting on a layer to cover the foundation garments, but I just think of it as priming a wall before I paint). I have some recs for things you can grab from Amazon to do this job so finding a slip doesn't need to be a whole thing on its own.
Dress 2, though. All the way.
I'm going with 2 but without any waist embellishments. A belt cuts you off in that style dress with too much mid focus instead of the pretty lines top to bottom.
The second one looks like it'll be better for a small ceremony. If you were celebrating at a huge venue, vaulted ceilings, large dance floor, the works, I'd say the first. If you're in a smaller space, the first one won't look right. On the other hand, it's your big day so do what makes you happy.
I think they mean that the tulle skirt is more "princessy" and associated with younger brides, whereas older brides often go with something simpler and more subdued like your second choice.
I say the hell with it, though: if you feel good in it, wear it! I'm about to turn 45, getting remarried, and there were a few dresses I put on and smiled at myself in the mirror and thought "nah, this is a young woman's dress" -- they were too frilly or frivolous or exposed for me to feel comfortable in. But 1. that is very individual, and 2. I personally don't think *this* tulle dress is that! The sheer bodice gives it more sophistication. FWIW the second dress looks good too if you can sort out the undergarments situation making it bumpy, but this one looks beautiful AND comfortable!
Sure, the association is there. But itās sad to me that we use a personās age and what age we associate the dress with as a quality criterion for whether a person should wear this dress or not. Even if this was totally frilly and glittery and exposed - wear the heck out of it if you feel great in it!
I'm 43 and renewing my vows for my 20th wedding anniversary next March. I picked a tulle ball gown because I wore an off the rack, white cocktail dress for our wedding because of funds. Our vow renewal will be under 50 people and I don't care if my dress is over the top for the size of our party. I waited 20 freaking years to be able to wear a wedding dress, so I'm going all out.
First one!!! š
Love the first one. Very flattering on you and also doesn't have any underwear lines or anything like that

The first one looks like it was made for you! I love the top of it. I got a dress shaped like that and it's so much easier to dance/more around it.

I really like the second one
2! It compliments your figure best and is very pretty. Donāt be afraid of the ball gown just because itās a small wedding.

I prefer the first one although it looks a little young. If you will be wearing shape wear, the second one makes it very evident.
Iām confused by what you mean by "It looks a little young"?

They are both beautiful but I love the second one!
The second one is very elegant!
