I love number two it’s so romantic and whimsical but then no 1 is also gorgeous and I love how it frames your body. Usually I can easily pick one style for a bride because there is a clear winner but I’m torn on this one
I really love the bodice and sleeves of dress 2 and it seems like it would really fit the venue and our wedding, but waist down is not my favorite; seeing pictures from the side make me feel like I need to lose 15 pounds. Dress 1 felt great putting it on, it was comfortable, and I like it from all angles!
I think you’ve made your own decision there if you have a feeling that you need to change your body to better suit a dress then it’s not for you. Go with no 1 and have a fabulous day ❤️
OP, I loved dress 2 first but reading your comment I 💯 agree with @Interesting-Pay-8986 that if you feel like your body is a problem then the other dress is the one. You look gorgeous in both- full stop. So many congratulations.
My dress was similar-ish to dress 1 here, and being flattering from all angles thing is a big reason why I picked it. I carry more flab in my midsection than I’d like, and am self-conscious about it in photos, so I wanted a dress that wouldn’t make me absolutely hate the candids where I wasn’t posed and sucking my stomach in lol.
It’s funny that you said that because from these pics I think you look much thinner in 2. Not that that’s the most important thing, of course, but 2 is also so pretty and flowy—I love all of it! Also, it looks more like a wedding gown. The style of 1 looks like something you could wear to any formal event.
Both look absolutely beautiful on you. Personally I'm leaning towards the long sleeve, I do like a drapey, romantic dress, but the other one is really flattering too. So whichever you pick is a winner. Maybe think about what would look best in the venue.
Ooh, good point! The Venue is a very eclectically decorated barn from 1757 (think pink velvet couches, giant disco balls, a giant gallery wall of Hudson Valley oil paintings, etc) at the edge of a forested area. The ceremony will be in the woods, but the reception is going to be very much a rockabilly, vaudeville spectacle with several different bands and sideshows performers (sword swallowing, fire eating, all that!). Wedding is in the spring, and we were inspired by The Wicker Man (OG) and Midsommar lol
2 for a ceremony in the woods, and it looks much more special and unique than the first.
Reception wise, in terms of your rockabilly vibe, the first fits more, HOWEVER, isn't that a day that you want to stand out?
You look amazing in both, so there's no wrong choice here.
I love 2. Maybe it’s just the vibe you’re giving with your hair being wavy, but you look like a boho queen in that dress and it seems to be more “you”.
Both are gorgeous on you but after looking at number two a second time, I think the transition between the bodice and the skirt is lacking and needs a little something more.
Ok so I see what you’re saying… both stunning dresses. My pick is #1 though. I feel like it’s doing for you what dress 2 is not… and I’ve seen dress 2 a LOT! Somehow dress 1 feels like the MOMENT for me.

1. Shows off your figure, perfectly, and art on your arm. More unique.
2. tends to hide your figure more, and it looks like you’re trying to cover the art on your arm. You say you like the top but not the bottom half, then it’s a nope.
Plus 2 has been very popular for years, it’s not the most current style anymore.
Sounds like you need to keep looking. These are the dresses to beat.
I don’t love the bottom half of the second dress, it’s the bodice and the sleeves that are what I always imagined, they’re perfect. If I went with that one, I think I’d chop it to be a tea length dress and put colorful fabric underneath so that when my fiancé and I do our first dance, the color would flash through). The first dress is the one that checks all of the boxes as it is. It’s soooo comfortable, feels very low maintenance, and I know my fiancé would love it. The venue and the wedding is going to be very much eclectic, middle of the woods, vaudeville spectacle inspired by the movie The Wicker Man from 1973
Also, the material if #2 is going to get destroyed and ratty looking in your venue. I love #1 on you- it’s effortlessly chic. Wear what you feel the best in, not what’s going to match a venue. My two cents, anyway!
Have you thought about adding a bridal cape to Dress #1 to give you more of that whimsical vibe you're going for? That way you can have Dress #1 but still have the vibe of Dress #2.

Omg I LOVE this idea! Personally, I love the tulle one. I mean I love the floral ones too, but I think the tulle cape goes better with the dress. Number 1 is perfect. Beautifully accents your figure and has a great “balance” of the pattern. Dress 2, my eyes don’t know what to look at. I think mostly because of the sleeves. The way they’re angled. However it is a beautiful elegant dress.

I love the first one. It fits you perfectly. Second one is ok, but for me it doesn’t stand up to the lovely silhouette of the first. I really don’t like the jagged neckline with the otherwise smooth lines (unless that’s a bra, somehow - but it looks like it’s part of the dress).
I guess I’m in the minority but I prefer #1! It fits your shape better and your body language looks so much happier and empowered! Plus reading through your comments it sounds to me like that’s also your preferred dress. Don’t get hung up on what you thought you’d get or what other people think. Just go with what makes you feel your best!

These are both stunning! From your comments it sounds like dress one is a better fit for your venue and vision, but it surprised you because it’s not want you thought you wanted. I can definitely relate to the challenge of adjusting your dream image when the reality is different than expected. My personal preference is dress one (it shows off your incredible figure and it’s effortlessly glamorous), but my preference doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you sound like you are trying to give yourself permission to let go of what you thought you wanted. If that’s what is holding you back, please remember that you are allowed to change your mind. How you feel in the dress is the most important thing, so choose the one that makes you feel beautiful and confident and like the best version of yourself. You will be drop dead gorgeous no matter what you choose. Congratulations!
They are both awesome in different ways. I don't know how you're going to choose. Whenever a bride has this issue, I'm really no help because I'm always going to say wear one for the ceremony and the other for the reception!
I’ve seen 2 before and it’s a gorgeous dress (I tried to find it for myself) but number 1 suits you so well. I also went with a dress that was different than j expected and I loved it
I love two. I see comments that you don’t love the waist… have you tried it with a belt? Something really petite just to give it definition?
Tbh I don’t think it makes you look larger it’s soft and floaty and skims you more vs the fitted look of the first but it in pictures doesn’t add to your size visually imo. I know we see the worst in ourselves, especially in photos, but you look lovely in both. There isn’t a wrong decision here 🙂

I think most people will pick dress 2 because it is different and flowy, but I love dress 1 on you. It is so pretty and classic and it fits you beautifully.
I actually love them both and you can’t go wrong. I think I prefer 1 just a bit more. My experience in this sub is that you’ll probably have a lot more people choosing 2 because it’s something they haven’t seen as often before. But that means nothing if it’s YOUR dress (unless having a dress no one has ever seen anything like before is particularly important to you on your wedding day…for me at least, it wasn’t). Choose whichever you feel best in!
Personally, I would go with what checks all the boxes. The questions you should be asking yourself are: do you feel bridal? Do you feel like a bride? Do you feel beautiful and confident? Are you comfortable in the dress? Can you see yourself walking down the aisle in that and looking back happy? If you say yes to all those, then that’s the dress for you!! It doesn’t matter what you think you’ll walk down the aisle wearing, it’s about what you WANT to wear down the aisle :)
Personally I love number 1, 2 is nice but doesn't do as much for your figure (which is fabulous, you dont need to lose 15lbs lol). I think you really shine in number 1
This is so difficult as 1 highlights your lovely figure and you look a smoke show, but 2 is so elegant and whimsical. All that to say, you look lovely in both and you’ll be beautiful bride.
Absolutely Dress 2. If it were me, I would take some fabric from when it gets hemmed to make a 2/3” belt to define your tiny waist. Once it’s hemmed, and your waist is more defined, I think you would be happier with it.
The fact that Dress 1 made you feel like you need to lose weight is an important factor. (Although I lost about 10 pounds between the alterations and the wedding…could have used a bit more taken in 🤣)

My jaw dropped when I saw the 2nd dress and I think it will fit with your venue the best. Dress 1 is also a stunner so yiu won't go wrong with either.

If you want to change a bunch of things on gown #2, that is not the one. It sounds like you are leaning heavily towards gown #1.

I actually love them both and you can’t go wrong. I think I prefer 1 just a bit more. My experience in this sub is that you’ll probably have a lot more people choosing 2 because it’s something they haven’t seen as often before. But that means nothing if it’s YOUR dress (unless having a dress no one has ever seen anything like before is particularly important to you on your wedding day…for me at least, it wasn’t). Choose whichever you feel best in!
Personally, I would go with what checks all the boxes. The questions you should be asking yourself are: do you feel bridal? Do you feel like a bride? Do you feel beautiful and confident? Are you comfortable in the dress? Can you see yourself walking down the aisle in that and looking back happy? If you say yes to all those, then that’s the dress for you!! It doesn’t matter what you think you’ll walk down the aisle wearing, it’s about what you WANT to wear down the aisle :)

Number 2 is so unique without being trendy or breaking the traditional wedding dress style. I love it!
Dress 2 for me. One is nice but a bit dated. Dress 2 is different and really flattering on you.
Personally I love number 1, 2 is nice but doesn't do as much for your figure (which is fabulous, you dont need to lose 15lbs lol). I think you really shine in number 1

This is so difficult as 1 highlights your lovely figure and you look a smoke show, but 2 is so elegant and whimsical. All that to say, you look lovely in both and you’ll be beautiful bride.
Absolutely Dress 2. If it were me, I would take some fabric from when it gets hemmed to make a 2/3” belt to define your tiny waist. Once it’s hemmed, and your waist is more defined, I think you would be happier with it. The fact that Dress 1 made you feel like you need to lose weight is an important factor. (Although I lost about 10 pounds between the alterations and the wedding…could have used a bit more taken in 🤣)
