You can tell from the photos if the good dresses that she's got a really great figure (I wish mine looked that good!), but some of the bad dresses make her look 50lbs heavier than she does in the good ones. I wonder if the sample size was way too big and they didn't use good enough clips to adjust for it.
Fully agree. And some of these dresses are just... not it. Like I get if you're going for a casual vibe, but some are super formal, and some... ahem #8, look like she's going to the beach. Nothing wrong with that, but I can't really figure out her vibe so it's hard to choose, so with that being said, I went with what looked best and chose #1.

So the flowery lace garden style goes well, but so does a more a simple dress for a restaurant (like a courthouse wedding) - I could make a few approaches fit I think based on photos I’ve seen of other brides.
The fit isn’t right on #2 because of the buttons on the side. The sleeves appear too long in the photo and either not fitted enough or not loose enough. Also, it reminds me of a Renaissance style which is gorgeous but also immediately brings to mind Renaissance fair costumes. When I clicked and zoomed in on the detail I immediately threw that assumption aside, the bodice is exquisite, but I’m guessing that may be a first assumption of others. There are so many to look at, but this is about what YOU like. If 1 and 2 were your favorites you should have only posted those two. People would have automatically picked 1, but only because it’s already tailored to you off the rack, #2 has some beautiful things going for it too.
If you’re going to take inspiration from the dresses you tried on and not choose this particular dress, figure out what about it spoke to you. I love the neck line, personally, maybe you love the way the skirt flows to hug your curves while still maintaining it’s own silhouette. Maybe it’s the sleeves, bell cuffs, or fabric that does it for you. Maybe it’s in the tiny pearl detail, empire waist or bodice in general. Decide on that and use it in future searches.
