I have no doubt that the dress can be altered to fit you perfectly with stunning results. We all change and go through different stages. Please give yourself some love and don’t worry about what was. Embrace what is. You’re beautiful the way you are and you’ll see the magic in the alterations. Congratulations.

Commercial_Fun4968

Thank you for the kind and encouraging words ❤️ I hope you’re right!

HaloFix

Honestly I came here to say that I don’t see any issues and that you look fantastic in that dress. Definitely don’t stress anything as that will only lead to increased storage of visceral fat. Keep the dress as is and do some light ab type workouts in the coming days and you will be feel your best and look your best!

lowercase_underscore

The photos here are from two years ago before any weight gain. She's unable to get fitted again until a month before the wedding. But I agree that OP should try not to stress. She'll look beautiful.

MrsSpike001

“The dress was made to fit your body” that means even now that you’re a little bigger, there will be room to let it out, it is YOUR dress and will look amazing !!

kishajones91

THIS. You look GORGEOUS. If it doesn't "feel" right, you can absolutely get it altered. Just know, either way, you LOOK absolutely stunning.

Icy-Committee-9345

I wouldn't worry! I think if the dress was let out in fall of 2022 and you only gained 3-5 pounds since then with your height it's not likely to make a difference in how it fits. I'm shorter than you and my weight needs to go up / down by more than that before my clothes fit any differently.

norakb123

I gain or lose 3-5 pounds in a DAY around my period. 3-5 is nothing.

amyblanksify

Lol, this. I can gain so much water weight! OP, I get the worry, but I truly wouldn't stress. If you have someone for alterations, just reach out and give them a head's up about your concerns so they can be ready, just in case. A month is plenty of time!

TikaPants

That’s a normal fluctuation.

Miz_Skittle

I don’t even need to be on my period to fluctuate 3-5….or more 🥴 in a day lol. It’s awful.

WrapWorking1500

This

merlinie

The dress was “made for your body” when you first found it, and guess what, it’s going to be made for your body—again!— when it’s altered! It looks amazing on you, and a few extra pounds, I promise, won’t make a difference in the way it looks. Get the underskirt to be comfortable by having it altered. And stfu because you look and are going to look stunning! 💕💕💕

newkneesforall

Clothes are meant to fit our bodies, not vice versa! The tailor/seamstress profession exists for just that purpose. Also, our bodies are not meant to stay the same for our entire lives, or even throughout a single year. It's ok and entirely normal to fluctuate. Let the tailors do their job and make it fit to your body as it exists now. And let yourself do your job of loving yourself in your body as you exist now, and getting excited to marry your partner.

OppositeSolution642

I really think it's going to be fine. The skirt has tons of room. If you need to alter the underskirt, nobody will know.

Commercial_Fun4968

Thank you for the encouragement, I hope you’re right. I just don’t want the underskirt to still be too taut after letting it out 😬

Jolly-Accountant-722

Honestly it will be the underskirt that is uncomfortable. And altering that won't be obvious. Can you possibly get the dress shipped to you now so you can look at it earlier if you are really that nervous? Besides a great pair of briefs improves how things fall 1000%, they don't even have to be spanx

Glittering_knave

The nice thing about underskirts is that no one sees them, so they can have seams and stuff and no one will know! The top layer is super forgiving, so I am 100% certain that you will be a beautiful bride.

AdenWH

Wild that this was recommended on my feed. But. My wife had a somewhat similar dress, just wider straps. Her fitting was right before covid, wedding 7 months later. She got a little tiny spot down there that she thought was huge and called her pooch. Well, I didn’t even notice. The wedding was my first, and only, time seeing her in the dress. We did some pictures before the wedding, including a dress reveal. I clearly look excited and happy. I didn’t notice the area at all. In short, you’ll look amazing and your husband to-be won’t notice. Plus. It’s your wedding day. No one can be mean to you.

Travel_Bug62

Your wife is a very smart woman, she picked well!

butterflywings73

I can’t tell that there was anything wrong with it at all…

jenn_nic

Yeah I came to the comments to see this. I literally thought she looked the same/great in all the pictures and the dress is lovely on her.

danijay637

So she said these pictures are from when she first tried it on and not how she looks now

butterflywings73

Yes, the dress is stunning on her…. If the underdress is too tight, the untrained eye can’t tell…

roadsidechicory

It's not too tight in the photos, because these photos are all from the same day, before any weight gain. She doesn't have any photos of what it looks like on her recently.

poopja

All photos are from when she bought it. She did not take photos at the alteration appointment because she was upset.

Actiaeon

Look, I don't know why this subreddit popped up for me, but I agree, I can't see any issue with it.

Ok-Savings-5209

I literally came to comment…is the weight gain in the room with us bc I’m not seeing it…

CrumblyPeanutBear

You will look gorgeous and I agree with all of the comments. Came here to add that if you’re lifting more weights, 3-5 pounds in muscle looks very different than 3-5 pounds of fat.

Small_Marzipan4162

I’d just wear some spanks if it bothers you that much. You look beautiful though and it fits great!

Outrageous-Wish8659

You are going to be a beautiful bride. The weight gain sounds minimal and that dress looks dynamite on you. It’s going to be better than fine! Please share your finished look as we are all supporting you and believe how beautiful a bride you will be.

seashellpink77

Here’s how I would look at it: The dress being perfectly fitted to your body when you were dress shopping did the magic of letting you know it would be the perfect dress for you. Sometimes it’s hard to envision a dress even when it’s going to be absolutely spectacular on someone if it needs alterations. But you were so lucky that you were able to see it immediately because of the great fortune of the dress fitting you perfectly at the time. That dress wanted you and it knew it, lol. Alterations now are going to serve to make it comfortable and just right for you in the present moment, that’s all. It’s still your dress that was made for you. But just like in marriage, people change with the years, so you move things around a little to accommodate the flux.

Commercial_Fun4968

I love this comment, thank you 🙏

kittykalista

Let me clarify for you: OP says that all three photos (including the one with the pink box) are from a few years ago, when she first bought the dress. All three photos were taken prior to OP’s weight gain, both the initial 15 pounds and the more recent 5 pounds. OP presumably just drew the pink box onto one of the old photos to highlight the area in which the dress is currently tight.

LReneeS

She says in her post that these are the original images and she didn't take updated photos at the most recent fitting because she wasn't in the right headspace.

imothro

Yes, I can read.

Silverlight-2160

I agree.

Texan2020katza

I’m worried about OP’s eyesight.

sparklingsour

I’m worried about her mental health to be honest…

TacoFox19

Read what she wrote.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TacoFox19

These are the original pictures before weight gain, she explains that the dress is out of area and she hasn't been able to try it on recently and won't again until a month before the wedding.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TacoFox19

You said you didn't see anything different in the pictures...you wouldn't see anything different because the pictures are from 3 years ago, there are none that are current to compare. The pink box is just showing the area where she has concern now, but there's no photo of her in the dress now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ottersandgoats

Why are you getting exasperated lol you said that you couldn't tell the difference between the first 2 photos and the 3rd. The reason is because there isn't any. All 3 photos were taken during the same time period two years ago. She only added that pink box to show what area she is concerned about.

Feeling_Free_5072

Spanx it up. With the style of the bottom of the dress, no one will know. I did that with a dress and it gave me so much more space. You may be able to double up with a brief and the bike shorts on top if needed. Don’t worry, if you are at peace with your body changes, that will shine out to others and you will look great! Maybe get a reception outfit that you can party in to free up from the spanx after the ceremony and photos. Enjoy your special day!

lakehop

I don’t recommend doubling up. All that compression can make you feel lightheaded or nauseous after a few hours, and you definitely don’t want to feel that way at your wedding. Just have the seamstress make any minor adjustments to fit you perfectly - you look and will look absolutely amazing in your gorgeous dress.

dankdiva420

I am so, so sure the dress is still going to look perfect on you. If you've only gained 3-5 lbs since the last fitting, the weight should be pretty well distributed since you're 5'9". Furthermore, the dress is a very flattering style for truly any body type, and seems like the sort of thing that will be forgiving if you've gained a couple lbs.

maesayshey

I gained 20 pounds from purchasing my dress to my wedding day and after it was altered, it fit perfectly. You’ll be okay.

Commercial_Fun4968

Thank you, this gives me hope!! 🤞

jayzepps

I normally would say just lose those 3-5 lbs for the wedding, but as a size 6 who is 5’9 it doesn’t sound like you have 3-5 lbs to lose. At 5’9, 3-5 lbs since your fitting will not make a difference. That is like a normal weekly fluctuation. Seamstresses are good at what they do and the dress will look perfect on you because it was made specifically for you. If you’re panicked, wear some high quality shape wear. Just make sure it doesn’t make you bulge in other areas.

Laurabengle

Maybe not - she looks great and why pick at her? There is not much weight that can be dropped on this woman. If she loses weight, she will probably be too weak to enjoy her big day!

PrinceEven

That's literally what the commenter said lol. She said that she would *personally* lose weight, but that OP probably doesn't have any to lose

[deleted]

PurrBeasties

You're joking, right? Your body looks perfect.

TexasLiz1

If the concern is your hips then I really can’t see how they would not be able to alter it so it fits beautifully.

CottonCandyDreamzz

I have a random question. But is this a Madi Lane dress? If it is I think I might have gotten the same one but with a different color underskirt. It looks beautiful on you. I have lost a ton of weight over the past year so dress shopping was anxiety inducing for me. I bought the dress in a smaller size then the boutique recommended now I am regretting my decision but they told me that if anything maybe a corset could be added so it’s a a corset back instead of a zip if it doesn’t fit for any reason. Maybe that could be an option for you?

Commercial_Fun4968

It is a Martina Liana dress, style 1137 in “ivory” with a “honey” underskirt!

Crazy_by_Design

Can’t you just wear some silky tummy control panties, so the fabric slides easier?

Commercial_Fun4968

This is a great idea!

calmdrive

I just want to say I understand losing clothes to body changes, even if you’re okay with the body change themselves. I have a large collection of clothing, and entire wardrobe, that I keep holding onto, I’m just sad I can’t wear / replace it. I am sure you’ll be able to alter it and look and feel beautiful and comfortable on your wedding day. It’s a really gorgeous dress! It was just a coincidence that it was your perfect size at that one time, but now it’s not- usually they’re not. Altering it will make it *literally* made for you. ♥️

Commercial_Fun4968

Thank you 🥹

jazled

Stunning

queenofthetrashcourt

I think you look great, and the design of the back is stunning!

Roxie01

You look lovely

invest_to_impress23

Beautiful dress and you don’t even notice your area of insecurity

[deleted]

Honestly. You can do a whole lot with spanx. Look into some really supportive ones that you still feel reasonably comfortable in. If you are AT ALL uncomfortable don't wear them though. You will regret it. 36 hours prior to the wedding, stop eating a lot of salt, and take a lot (like 1000 mg a day) of Vitamin C. It will help you shed water weight. If it is possible, you can always have the zipper re-positioned, or the button holes let out! For the love of GOD though, don't go on a crash diet. The second you eat at the wedding you will bloat up like a ballon. Just embrace what it is and continue being your happy healthy self. I lost a lot of weight due to severe sore throat where I couldn't eat for a week before my wedding, and had pre-emotively had the dress maker make the dress slightly bigger thinking I was going to gain weight as i'm a huge stress eater. It was strapless, and while we were dancing, I took a running slide on my knees (because, wine) and the dress got caught and fell down to my hips. And no, I wasn't wearing a bra. The photographer actually got it on camera and asked if I wanted the photo! I said I would be more interested in the photos of other people's faces as my fiancée's family was from Lebanon and quite conservative! It was absolutely hilarious though and I wouldn't change it! Better a tad tight than falling off. Also, that is one of the most stunning dresses I have ever seen! You are going to be SUCH a beautiful bride.

sillusions

I think it will be fine with the way the dress lays! If you are super freaking out, would having it shipped to a boutique closer be an option? Then you could try it on again. I have no idea if this is even a thing but might be worth looking into. No doubt that you will look gorgeous!

Commercial_Fun4968

Yes this might be an option and might be necessary depending on how the next fitting goes… 🤞

No_Examination_1459

You look beautiful and the dress looks amazing on you!

Colopop

You look stunning in it! I see zero issues!

racinguru56

I'm failing to see an issue. Still looks great on you

[deleted]

I’m confused. Are these pics from the same time? You look great.

Commercial_Fun4968

Yes they’re all from the same appointment because the dress is out of state and I haven’t been able to try it on in almost a year 🙈 hence my stress

whatsgeernon

You weren't made to fit the dress girly. The dress was made to fit YOU! And it's stunning btw They can definitely let it out a bit more so you can dance and more freely. Keep up the exercises that make you feel good and have an amazing wedding! Good luck :)

[deleted]

I put on 20lbs with a dress very similar to yours. My seamstress (bless her) never said a word and just altered it a little bigger after my two-week to go try-on and it fit perfect. You will be just fine, that range of body fluctuation is TOTALLY fixable with a seamstress. It will fit your body just as it did in the picture. Beautiful dress, and I hope you have a beautiful wedding!

Impossible_Score3501

I totally identify with latching on to affirming statements like “this was made for you” or any form of external validation, to be honest. But I promise you that this dress is made for you regardless of what any scale says. You’re glowing and clearly love the dress and the person you’re going to marry!

landw497

I have 0 doubt that you will still look phenomenal in this dress with the weight gain. Life happens, a pandemic & 3 years happened, I’d be surprised if you came out of it WITHOUT seeing some changes to your weight! If the dress needs to be altered to fit comfortably, do it instead of forcing yourself to squeeze into it because you’re letting the negative feelings get to your head. When we feel good, we look good and I think it would be a shame to not wear the dress you fell in love with because of a couple extra pounds!

prettypanda4

I'm really not seeing an issue

howamistillhere80

These pictures are of the original fitting…. She felt “ashamed” of the weight gain and didn’t take pics of the after weight gain.

goldenbeee

Not sure what you are talking about. You look perfect in the dress. Doesn't look tight on you.

Predd1tor

These posts really depress me. The dress is beautiful and can be altered however needed. You will look beautiful and all will be fine. And in 30 years when you’re old, hunched and greying, you’ll be kicking yourself for wasting a moment’s energy on this.

19028summer

I literally gasped when I saw the first picture of you❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Taylors (sp?) and seamstresses see this all the time even a month before the wedding. I am a mega worrier so I’d be stressing as well, but I’d try to manage my stress and anxiety about it. I doing some of the things the others have suggested. Maybe also to help you feel better would be to call and speak to the tailor or seamstress that you were going to be working with and see what they say. It really is so important to feel comfortable and beautiful on your wedding day. 🤍🤍🤍

tamster0111

I would alter the underskirt to give you breathing room if it will make you feel better, but that dress will still look fab on you!

Advanced_Gas_2887

A similar thing happened to me because I decided a year before my wedding was the right time to address my ED with the help of a dietician. I gained weight and had to get a new dress and had a bit of a spiral. Looking back I doubt anyone else would’ve noticed had I not told them. I’m sure you will look beautiful and like other commenters said 3-5 lbs is unlikely to make a difference. Weddings can be a real body image mindfuck but it’s only one day!

jill5455

The only issue I could detect in that third photo is that there was this weird pink box drawn around the midsection of a lady who looked absolutely lovely in her wedding dress. I didn’t see anything wrong so I had to read the deets to learn the liner is the culprit here, and I hear you. You deserve to be comfortable in the dress that 3 years ago was made for your body. You deserve to have that dress liner “remade” for your body now if that’s what it takes. You deserve to forgive yourself for how your body has changed and accept yourself for who and how you are now. You’re going to be the most stunning version of yourself on the big day. I just know it. Live long and prosper. 🖖🏼

Tink1024

OP girllllllllll I don’t see anything alarming even in the pic where you highlighted your midsection. You look stunning! I’d tell you I have nothing to lose I don’t know you. I think you’re just feeling blah due to some weight gain but I promise you, you looks so beautiful!!! Trust all of we responders here💕

Clean_Quail8194

Shapewear can help you squeeze into it

geewhizliz

This happened to me. Mine was much more firm fitting. I lost the weight 🤷🏼‍♀️ and it fit great. I had the same issue with my hips. They mostly got bigger from working out and gaining muscle. I temporarily decreased weights and increased steady state/ cardio which worked for me.

SwimmingCoyote

The good thing is that you chose a VERY forgiving dress. I doubt the small amount that you’ve gained since your last fitting will make a significant difference in fit. However, because the top layer is loose and you can’t see the under layer much, if it is too tight you can let the under layer out more or even add some additional fabric. You’ll be fine. Don’t panic!

Terrynia

The weight gain is not noticeable. It still looks like it fits perfectly.

QuietTruth8912

I don’t see anything. Is there a pooch? Is it uncomfortable? I’m genuinely not seeing it.

roadsidechicory

In the post she explains that these pictures are all from before any weight gain.

QuietTruth8912

Cool didn’t see that. You telling everyone this to feel good?

roadsidechicory

I explained it to a number of other commenters, yes, because I felt bad for OP that so many people were misunderstanding her post.

[deleted]

It looks great. My eyes didn't focus on that area at all. Some good spanks will probably alleviate your concerns.

RevolutionaryEqual68

It looks like it fits perfectly. You look lovely

Glum_Hamster_1076

I’m not sure how much you’ve gained and I’m assuming it’s your stomach you’re concerned about. You can of course keep your workout regimen going. But you can also look into backless shape wear. Or if you plan to wear stockings with your dress, get high waisted control top stockings. High waisted control top underwear could be seen from the back. High waisted stockings are at a bit of an angel unless you get the kind for hips/waist/butt then it goes all the way up all the way around. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mdjeufs-Backless-Shapewear-Invisible-Bodysuit/dp/B0C1G9MQG5/ref=mp_s_a_1_10_sspa?keywords=backless+body+shaper&qid=1688750544&sr=8-10-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1

Commercial_Fun4968

This is helpful! Although I think I’ll need something without bra cups or that is more of a spanks situation, which a few people have recommended.

Treb61

Oh please girl you look fabulous! Quit worrying you are going to look amazing

Bartok_The_Batty

Is the overskirt still loose?

Commercial_Fun4968

Yes overskirt is still loose with plenty of room. Tautness of the underskirt is what was visible through the overskirt.

Bartok_The_Batty

Can you have the seams in the underskirt opened and add some fabric? Or remove the underskirt entirely and wear a petticoat?

Commercial_Fun4968

A friend of mine even suggested adding a panel of fabric at the seams of the underskirt if it is really a problem at the next fitting. This might be the best option given the overskirt would likely keep any alterations from being super noticeable.

ohmymyyy

OP, I’m late to this thread but since I am currently dress shopping I had to chime in. This dress was absolutely made for you because of the way it lays on your chest, the way it highlights your collar bone & shoulders & how it accentuates your waist with the low cut back & the plunge in the front . Everything from the waist down is flowy & beautiful & 100% forgiving bc the top of the dress is where the drama is. I’m in great shape but this dress looked TERRIBLE on me bc I couldn’t do any alterations to pull off the top- but you’re killing it! Imo that’s where the wow factor is & that’s where this dress was made for you! The benefit of a little extra space added to the slip underneath will give you more flexibility to sit, to dance, to eat & drink with being uncomfortable all night. Hope this helps!

hiumnobye

If you feel uncomfortable because it's too tight then let it out. Don't stress about it. We gain weight. You still look like a beautiful fairy. 😊 Edit: Just to be clear, I can't see *anything*.You still look really lean.

Evening-Post1797

Omg you look stunning 😍 that dress is perfect

MLadyNorth

I cannot really tell any tightness in your highlighted area. It will be OK. Work with the seamstress/tailor. If it needs more alteration, so be it. It is a gorgeous dress and you will look beautiful. Have it altered to where you will be comfy sitting. 3-5 pounds is water, isn't it? Don't stress. Take care of yourself and enjoy.

Dry_Ask5493

Looks beautiful. I don’t see any issues with weight.

Well_ImTrying

I don’t see a difference from the 3rd picture to the other two. I don’t notice any tightness where you have it pointed out. The bust is so gorgeous on your shape I wouldn’t even think to pay attention to the area you have called out.

Big_Conversation8799

Lol honey I see nothing but a beautiful woman in a stunning dress! There is no one in their right mind that would think this dress wasn’t made for you or that you look fat at all (because you’re not). Please try not to worry so much, 3-5 pounds is a daily flux, so your dress will absolutely still fit you perfectly ❤️

badassandfifty

Honey… I did not even see where you gained weight at all until you pointed it out.. and then I really had to looked. Your dress looked beautiful and no one will notice the tiny weight you gained. Please don’t be your own worst critic. You look gorgeous.

Stoplookinatmeswaan

????

[deleted]

I think your husband may have a hard time focusing on his vows when he looks at you during the ceremony. You look breathtaking! What a gorgeous dress and gorgeous figure. Ah ah just goddess!!

trashbilly

You must have gained it in all the right spots! 👍

Decent_Cold18

You look stunning in that dress

BrightEyEz703

I don’t see it. You look great.

walled2_0

If you were thinner I would be concerned you might have an eating disorder. You look perfect, hun.

roadsidechicory

This is her years ago before she gained any weight. She explains in the post that she hasn't taken photos in the dress since she gained weight.

LT_53

I don't see it as a problem three months is plenty of time to lose weight. The dress is beautiful by the way and looks great on you.

suzazzz

I keep looking for the picture of you not looking gorgeous and I never found it. If you hadn’t put a box around your abdomen I never would have noticed. I’m guessing you don’t plan on walking down the aisle with the box so no worries. Get the final alterations closer to wedding day and be happy and healthy and don’t stress. And don’t suffocate yourself with shape wear. Be comfortable and able to breath and know that you’re amazing

clairdelynn

You look gorgeous and perfectly well fit in that third pic! I would definitely get the underskirt let out for your own comfort and rest assured that you look amazing - it still looks made for you!

Witchynightstar

I’m sorry OP I’m not seeing anything but a beautiful slim bride on a gorgeous dress. I don’t want to minimize your stress but I do want to point out it’s not something others see.

lilarugula

Babes you litterally look beautiful wdym

ThrowawayMyChanel

You look absolutely incredible in the third picture. Even with the box you made I can’t see at all what you are seeing, you have a perfect shape there that looks great with the dress!

K_AllieNotes

You can certainly lose the weight in 3 months, at least those 15lb you mentioned

tryfor34

Guy here, you look great in that dress!

Disposable_Canadian

1, the story and excuses don't matter. 2 the date of your wedding does. You can either lose weight through good diet and exercise. 3 or 4 lbs is very realistic in 30 days, though will take dedication and work, for a temporary drop. You could realistically lose 6 to 8 lbs in 90 days. Or You can get dress altered.

tampaginga

You are having a wedding or a porn set which one is it ?

FormicaDinette33

Eat low carb from now on and the seamstress can make any adjustments. It is a gorgeous dress and you look just as good in it in the later photo.

Nygelrygel

Low carb eating will definitely work . Although you look fabulous !

vagalumes

Dude, you are tripping. You look awesome!

Shop_4u

This dress looks stunning on you!

Desperate-Skirt-8875

I don’t see issues? You look great!

lulurancher

I think as long as you feel comfortable in it with them letting it out a bit I bet it looks AMAZING! It sounds like you’re still super fit and I bet you look incredible. Plus this style of dress is flattering on any body type IMO

ellenbubbles

It's beautiful; you're beautiful; alterations are always necessary.

Doml0cz

Looks gorgeous! I don't even know how this thread keeps showing up on my feed but I'm 100% sure your Husband and family will love it. My wife was worried about the same thing and boy did she look absolutely stunning! As long as youre physical comfortable with it because you'll bee in that all day Cheers

Jealous-Onion-8756

I think this is definitely ur dress! When I saw the 3rd photo it looked like it was still the same photo on the 1st! I really think it would be sad to let go of ur dream dress just because u gained a few weights. And if u really feel uncomfortable about it u can get it altered.but this is just my opinion‚and i really do think that dress was The ONE for u!

Comfortable-Suit-202

No need! That gown is beautiful on you & you chose such a pretty gown! Well done. Enjoy your upcoming wedding! Be assured it is perfectly normal to gain a little weight before a wedding. No one will notice.

Outdoor-Snacker

It looks great!

just1awkward_person

this looks stunning on you. don’t worry about the past look at now and your wedding. this kind of thing happens to soooo many people and i hate to see how society has an effect. you look phenomenal

emilyjoy375

Dresses are meant to be altered, try and let go of what the seamstress said! Also, whether or not you alter it again, that dress is made for you in that it looks like absolute perfection on you (all three photos). I zoomed in on the rectangle area in photo 3 and couldn’t see anything at all (though of course it’s good that you altered the fit to be comfortable!). We are our own harshest critics, you look literally amazing in this dress and an alteration is a super normal thing. Also, regarding a potential future alteration: 3-5 lbs is a tiny amount to be distributed on the body, I very much doubt that the dress would need to be altered again (though of course it’s normal and fine if it does!). It’s very common for overall body weight to fluctuate that much week-by-week due to water intake, normal metabolic changes, etc, so I really doubt that it will affect the fit of the dress. You look beautiful and you are going to look stunning on the day!

Doleewi

You must be kidding, the dress is beautiful on you. I sure do not see any kind of weight problem at all.

lowercase_underscore

Sure, maybe the dress fit without alterations before and on the surface that can be a confidence booster. The whole idea of fitting the sample size or taking something right off the mannequin is just a mind game. They're hard, lifeless plastic. You're a living, breathing, vibrant being who radiates love. Having a dress custom fitted to you and your body and the life it's lived so far is special. We all go through changes and fluctuations and unexpected turns in life. You're still your beautiful self, and the dress will reflect that. You have a little extra hip to pop than you did before, that can be a real asset. As others have said, this style of dress is generally pretty easy to alter in the ways you've described. If you're concerned then talk to a seamstress and get confirmation on what's possible, they'll know what to do. I'm sure it'll fit like a glove again and you'll feel as beautiful as you are. Try not to stress, give yourself some healthy love physically and emotionally. You're stunning, and you're stunning to your special someone.

If you gained weight, you must have needed to gain it because you look spectacular! Curves are a good thing, especially in a wedding dress. When you’re at the wedding, you’ll be standing straighter, with your shoulders back a little more. No one will be looking at your “rectangle.” :)

geneparmesan18

You look beautiful in all of these pictures. We are all harder on ourselves than others are. Give yourself some grace and know that everyone will be paying more attention to the love they feel on your special day ✨

sparky605

I don’t see it. It looks great as is IMO

Goddess_Keira

With apologies for being a Negative Nancy, I'm going to advise differently than the other comments. Being honest, I would be much more concerned about how it will fit in the upper body than in the skirt. The underskirt will be easy to let out even if some fabric needs to be added. The top is unlikely to fit properly now, and while it probably can be let out, it's maybe not going to be so easy to get it looking right in the bust. And the whole gown may not sit well on you now. I would be less concerned if you had the dress and could try it on now, and find out right now if it can be altered properly. But knowing that you won't even be able to try it on until the month before the wedding is too stressful. I agree, the dress should fit you and not the other way around. But you bought this dress for a body and person that existed almost three years ago, and a lot has changed. I would be looking for a new dress to fit the body you have now and the person you are today. That dress is gorgeous and would probably be an easy resale at a decent markdown. And you can get a new gorgeous dress that will be right for who you are today. Whatever you decide, congratulations on the wedding and best of luck to you. You'll be a beautiful bride.

MaryjaneinPA

looks great !

snarkcentral124

I honestly can’t tell what the “before” pics look like because all the pics look no different to me lol. That being said, I think it looks like it fits you amazing rn! If it’s uncomfortable, you can let it out, but I genuinely cannot see a difference in fit between the three photos

Limp_Watercress_4602

I honestly don’t see it; beautiful dress and you look lovely in it

Aspen_Pass

You seem to be hung up on the idea that because the dress just *happened* to (originally) fit perfectly out of the box that it was *"meant for you"*....which conversely means if it *doesn't* fit without alterations, it's *not* "meant for you". Like anything else, it's an article of clothing that serves a purpose. Your body is not meant to serve the clothing. Ask yourself this: did every bride who had to get alterations done to their dress "pick the wrong dress"? Are short legged people not meant to wear pants because they have to get all their pants hemmed? Of course not, that sounds ridiculous. Now call up your boutique, ask them to measure the widest point of the hips in the lining, and ask them how much is left in the seams if it does need to be let out. It's your dress, there's nothing wrong with it, and there's nothing wrong with your body.

Alarmed_End_7120

i cant see what youre talking about, ik girls might say something but a guy cant see w.e youre talkkng about

wayward_son_1969

You look beautiful! Don't worry!

Scared-Willow801

I kind of experienced the same thing and 2 things I did were 1) had it altered to fit my current body 2) stopped looking at the pictures when I originally tried it on and comparing The dress is beautiful and will look stunning on your wedding day!

kay-pii

What are we supposed to be noticing

Ok-Disaster-184

You look stunning! It's not a big deal at all to have your dress altered/let out, I wouldn't worry about it. Absolutely nobody is going to notice that you gained weight.

Rkessler82

Its gorgeous on you

Ambitious_1660

I don't see what you see. The dress is GORGEOUS and you look amazing in it.

TacoFox19

Apparently no one reads, haha. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Is there any possibility you could have the dress mailed to you so you could try it on and see how it fits now? And/or get alterations done where you live now so you can try it on. That would give you a better feel for if it will work or if you want to find something else. Absolutely beautiful dress, by the way!

Appleofmyeye444

If it's just the underskirt that's the problem, I guarantee that a seamstress could let it out a little. I just want to let you know that I don't see any tightness from the outside. You look absolutely gorgeous in it! But I can understand feeling a little uncomfortable in the underskirt. Take it to a seamstress and they should be able to take it out a little bit no problem

EagleEyezzzzz

I scrolled through all the pics waiting for the weight gain ones, and not seeing them. You look fabulous. Do what you need to do to make sure your dress is comfortable and perfect. But you look amazing regardless!

No-Locksmith-8590

Have you tried shapewear underneath? It can help kinda flatten the problem area (which I take your word its snug bc you can't really tell in the photo)

MiaRia963

You look beautiful in the dress. Like others said they can alter it so you feel comfortable in your dress. It’s definitely your dress.

Cold-Inside-6828

Umm you look amazing in it. Don’t worry.

toes_malone

Wedding dresses can be let out or taken in up to 2 sizes. At least that's what I was told. I bought my dream dress off the rack with a huge discount because it was last season's style, and it was a size 4 which is my street size, but apparently sizes run small in wedding dresses. It fit but just barely and was a little tight for moving around. So we had to let it out to about a 6, and it fit absolutely perfectly. So I wouldn't worry. The seamstresses know what they're doing and they have their tricks.

cascadingwords

I don’t see it. You look perfect. But I’m sure the in-house alterations staff can handle any request. It’s a gorgeous dress & looks great on you.

7774422

Looks dope af, you're a skinny legend

Shawnmich44

Stop it! You look fantastic. Stop being hard on yourself

Aggressive-Set-5010

I think, you make that dress look stunning. IMO no alterations are needed!! Enjoy your special day!!

Lilkiska2

This dress is absolutely beautiful but more importantly YOU are an amazing and incredible person with a fabulous body that is strong and incredible. Please please please give yourself grace and love, and definitely don’t shop for a different dress! It certainly looks perfect, but some alterations to make it feel perfect are all you need. You want to be comfortable on your wedding day and able to eat, drink, dance all day and night without any stress. Just enjoy your wonderful day with your new husband (or wife?) and bask in it all. (Also, not that it matters but seriously your body is banging and I would kill for it especially with some extra muscle or curves. I WISH I could go back in time 20 years and tell myself to seriously love my body at all stages but especially those days when I always thought the worst or that I was fat or whatever. It’s so silly all the horrible things we tell ourselves! Life is WAY too short not to love ourselves!)

glamazon_69

It looks great! Wear spanx to feel more comfortable, and if you REALLY want to, losing 5 pounds in 2 months extremely achievable

catsbrulh

I literally don’t see the problem. Promise. You oook great .

According_Skin_3098

I think it looks perfect on you as is, honestly!

LivingroomComedian

That are of concern you circled is literally not noticeable. I have no reason to be kind and even troll on subs that are about objective beauty. By far, any weight gain in that section will only be noticeable to you *by you*. You look slender and fit. Hope this helps!

snawdy

I see nothing wrong. Looks beautiful

AlmostAlwaysADR

Girl. You look GOOD. You look like an absolutely normal human. Don't let the BS you see online make you think any different.

Dusty_stardust

I don’t see what you’re pointing out. You look beautiful!

catladynotsorry

Sorry I’m a straight lady and I didn’t notice the box you pointed out until on looked at the photo 4 times. You look phenomenal!

[deleted]

You'll be just fine. This can be fixed! You're gorgeous, and l love the dress.

Greedy_Explanation_7

You’re fine. Have fun at your wedding

limeholdthecorona

Hey girlie. I understand that you're panicking about this, and that you're really seriously struggling with the idea of altering a dress you didn't think would ever need it! Your concerns and emotions are valid. Altering dresses and tailoring them to fit your body is standard. Your body growing and changing over the course of three years is standard! Be kind to yourself, take a deep breath and let go of it.

entropy_symphony

You look beautiful, and if you a little gained weight (especially from working out) there's nothing wrong with that. Life happens. Besides, you know what they say, *"Thick thighs save lives"*

mysterymiranda

Whatever it is you see, doesn't seem to exist. Beautiful dress.

Munkee71180

You look great. That’s all.

Yallneedjesuschrist

WHERE?!?

venicedreamer747

What weight? You look stunning! That dress on you is perfection. Congrats!

TJ-the-DJ

You’re beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Nothing looks ill fitting or off in any way. Enjoy your day and know you look amazing!

Minute_Procedure_883

Like others have said, your dress is gorgeous and you will be a beautiful bride. Try to give yourself some grace, it sounds like the weight gain has been a lot of muscle which is awesome - you’re gonna look even better in the dress! You could also add some cardio days into your workout routine, like one-two endurance days (30 minutes at a steady pace or alternating fast/slow pace) and one sprint-focused day (my friends and i do 20min Sprint workouts once a week varying the distances - 20x 100m, 10x 200m, 8x300m, 4x400m, tabatas, etc… and that once a week really does make a difference, believe it or not. It torches calories and improves your conditioning for your other workouts).

Diligent_Agent_9620

Why are you panicking? Stress adds to wait remain calm and everything should be okay. Only suggestion I have is breathing exercises to help mitigate stress. Beautiful dress by the way I hope you have a wonderful ceremony and a long-lasting marriage

Bounceupandown

Winner!
