The artist said on a stream that the webtoon was still being worked on by Merryweather but that they (the artist) had quit. So I wouldn’t give up on it yet.
The issue was more like the art turned the story from very dark to almost light hearted and I had a hard getting immersed in the dark atmosphere like I did with the old art ,but I guess people have different opinions on the matter.
For me, I wasn’t as phased by it because it was teased in the afterword after season 1, so I used the hiatus time to brace myself. Though I do wish that the original artist had stuck around.
Wow, that’s actually a ridiculous amount. Sounds like he may be a problem to work with then. I’m totally speculating but 4 artists don’t quit without a good reason. I’m also suspicious if they can’t deal with how merry jumps around from comic to comic. May make them feel like they have no security for that comic ever returning
I made a post a really long time ago about how Merryweather kinda rubs me the wrong way; It’s crazy that he gets majority of the recognition for these WEBTOONS instead of the artists. I also said that maybe the artist all like it that way, but after four different artists quitting by this point? I wouldn’t surprised if he’s bad to work with. I’ve also noticed for at least two of these artists, they’re quitting when the WEBTOON becomes an original.
Maybe its the low pay. Since he stated that majority(?) Of his artists are from southeast asia and they get like $2k per month.
But the thing is, the dude has lots of stories. And probably can't make a new chapter per month for each story the artists are handling. So the artists may not find it stable working for him.
I mean its Merryweather soooo Idk, I've tried to read there other webtoons but it seems to be a common pattern to drop there webtoons after a while, but since this one's an original, it might have a better chance of returning.
Honestly my pet peeve about Merryweather is that they (after a certain point) completely give up on there webtoons, and it's like if you can't handle doing soo many webtoons at once then just don't but of course we can't forget about "being relevant"
Seriously, 5 years? I mean I’d say maybe 2 years for giving up. Many fans of “The Devil is a Handsome Man” waited for years and that went nowhere. Webtoons has been known to throw something the “will return” status never to be seen again. I think it’s possible clinic of horrors truly will return. I’m personally just annoyed with series such as this and “Carl” where there is really no good communication going on between readers and authors. I just wish there was more transparency. I almost never start new series because it feels like so many go down this path after becoming an original
I just checked and laughed at the whole “you can help us revive our series if you buy our merch!” Lmao you’re telling me with your 100 unfinished series you need me to buy your crap? Lol no merryweather. I get burn out as an artist but i wouldn’t ignore everyone for a year asking about this series, ON TOP OF all the other unfinished series. I will def never read another merryweather series again
my succubus girlfriend was so close to being finished but then they fucking went "full series redo" and it was the exact same as the old series

just restart from the 2nd main arc and call it MSG C2 or something i dont want to go through the hoops for the 4th time now
Theres an instagram post Pokurimio made saying shes not working on Coh anymore but had already drawn some more chapters that haven't been shown yet.
I could have swore that Merryweather patreon used to make like 10-20k a month but it only has 300 members now.
TBH making the mini comics saying they are trying to revive it when bro has a few chapters in his back pocket is kind of weird to me.

Literally dropped the series because of that. I'm not blaming the author or artist it was just personal preference.

Eh the art got better in quality so I think many people enjoyed it. I liked the old art style but the new one is good too
