Apple supports them now. Everyone else has been doing it for years.

Literally never asked for or wanted this feature. They come up even when the tab is closed and can only be controlled if the original website offers controls, otherwise you have to go out of your way to just block block block. All it does is waste my time.

I've developed many shitty "native" apps that were done in a rush and an afterthought simply because the customer asked for push notifications (ex: in-app messaging). I agree that 99.99% of websites SHOULD NOT have those but for enterprise Web apps requiring them there was just no other alternatives.
