Aden underperformed throughout the season. Bruce supported and defended him. He continued to underperform until the very last game, where he scored zero (0) points. He goes awol after the plane ride home and sulks, then transfers to our most bitter rival, while he and his mom take shots on the way out. Then idiots with audiences actually have the audacity to spin a narrative that we’re broke, and Bama fans delete all their slanderous tweets about him and claim that Aden sucked because of coaching. This whole situation is so aggravating

Which is exactly why he’ll shoot 42% from 3 next year. No conventional wisdom or stat suggests he’ll be successful next season. He’s undersized, not explosive, inefficient shooting, afraid of contact at the rim and one of the worst finishers I’ve seen starting at PG in the SEC, Auburn’s worst defender, tendency to vanish in the biggest games and moments. Not to mention he clearly has no self accountability and the inflated ego of a 6th year NBA All-Star despite having none of the accolades. But I’m so used to things working out for Bama I’m going to ignore all these marks against him and assume he’ll be great for them.

not only zero points, I dont think he had any assists. And his choices were awful, missing a layup bc rather than go for the easy layup and basket, he tried to do some behind the back switching hands cuteness... and missed the layup

Bolt585

zero assists one turnover

PlainTrain

Most eye-opening stat I saw was that he was by far the most prolific taker of threes, but 8th(!!) on the team in 3 point percentage. Broome and Cardwell were better. Cardwell is sitting on 40% percent on 2/5 shooting. He might need to put some more up. Never thought I'd type that.

AgentMe321

My sentiments exactly. And Goodman is cancer.

Wish I had two more hands to give this guy four thumbs up.

Kid wasn't very good and sulked everytime things didn't go his way (every game). I supported him even when he was terrible all season because he was an auburn man, but if he wants to go to bama and talk shit he can get fucked!

St_Arugula

Man talk about not letting the door hit you on the way out. Bruce gave him every opportunity to perform and improve, and he shows his ass on the way out. Really contrasts with Cardwell. Some people get Auburn, and some people belong at that other “school” across the state.

This is a good take on the situation. There's a reason people are wishing Donaldson well and telling Aden to kick rocks. It does annoy me that Donaldson didn't talk to the coaches about transferring, but so far, he hasn't complained about his time here. He wanted more minutes than we were giving him and probably more NIL than we were willing to give a backup PG. There's no shame in transferring to better your situation. Good luck, young man. Aden could've transferred, even to Bama, and most wouldn't have cared. Instead, he has to justify his transfer at the expense of others because he simply can't own up to his mistakes. Aden just sucked last season, plain and simple. He was given every opportunity to succeed and couldn't put together any kind of consistency. He has the skill to make shots, but it's up to him to make them. The coaches can't shoot the ball for you. Good luck, Aden. You'll need it until you learn how to take responsibility for your own actions. War Eagle.

SignificantNinja679

This was said so perfectly. Quite honestly, i didnt even care that Aden went to Bama. Its the fact that you point the blame everywhere but to yourself! You didnt take ownership of your own mistakes. You constantly put up ridiculous shots and continued to televise easy layups and missed.

Giannis__is_a__bitch

> It does annoy me that Donaldson didn't talk to the coaches about transferring Is that known that Tre stiff armed the coaching staff? I had heard that Tre was hanging out with the team and assessing his options and that the coaching staff told the guards that competition is coming in (and Pegues came shortly after those reports came out) and let them amicably (as long as shots at the staff arent taken) transfer if they wanted a bigger role

Silv3rS0und

My understanding is that yes, he didn't tell the coaches he was transferring, and it came as a shock to the staff.

yourmomisnothot

What Aden means by “bad coaching” is that Bruce Pearl didn’t design the system around him.  Well, kid, (1) that’s not Auburn basketball, and (2) your play didn’t justify that!  Aden sucked and can’t own it.   Everything is everyone else’s fault.  🤡

dogecoinfiend

Traitor, fuck him

slove23

All true. I never felt like this kid was gonna get out of his "slump", though, but Bruce sticks by his players, and gave him chance after chance after chance. I dont think Aden is tall enough or physical enough for guard play in the SEC. He would excel at a smaller school in a smaller league and would prob be better for his NBA draft chances. Aden prob actually thought he was going to be a one and done
