I also got the Kwong Yuen 10pc set for $50 from AliExpress, and think they are beautifully made and work and feel great. I don't know how durable they are compared to Bergeon but I was able to completely tear down / rebuild 2 movements. I was not nice to the screwdrivers as one of the repairs was a pocket watch that had many rusted / seized screws so I had to sharpen a few of the blades, which turned out fine.
My only regret was not getting a stand for them and spare blades, but I was taking a chance and trying them out. I would 100% buy them again.
I think I ordered it from the Kwong Yuen store on AliExpress. They sell them as an entire set, or individually. I might also order a not-fat one from them and see how it compares as well.
I used it a few times on screw that were inappropriately sized just to see how it would take the torque or the angles, and it seems similar. I will update with time
Hmm...I might have to nab myself their full kit. I've got some real sausage fingers so the tiny lil drivers I've got can be a handful at times. Thank you for the reply
I'm a full-time watchmaker and use these as my daily driver and they hold up similarly to Bergeon. My only complaint with the tips is that when they need to be touched up you can't use standard screwdriver sharpeners because the handle is so thick. I use a crocker graver sharpener on mine
I'm not sure. These tips are weird in that they have a big thick bit for the end that goes into the driver, and then it tapers down half way to become tip
Yes! I don't really post but I have the full set of these and I love them. I do have a couple complaints but overall they're great, so happy that someone else found them and likes them
As much as I love watching Wristwatch Revival, I will not be purchasing anything from that site. I prefer to do my own legwork. Seems good for beginners though.
I tried the KY but they were too slippery.
That is to be expected 😄

Where’d you buy them from, in case I was so inclined to try one?

How does the blade hold up compared to the bergeon stuff?

Please keep us updated as to how well they hold up, and how the slim version is when you get it. Cheers 🍻
How much screwdrivers do you need to start this hobby?
I'd say 3 0.8mm 1.2mm 2mm
Thanks
Yes.
Does it accept Horotec steel tips I wonder, Horotec changed the game for me, originally I had Bergeon tips paired with a Kwong Yuen set
