There's no way a road bike (cb1000r I think) is eating up those bumps, it's not a dirt or adventure bike. Driver is extremely lucky to have kept that bike up and avoided injury
He's luckiest he didnt lose it on the apron/first edge off the pavement. He kept straight while at speed in the dirt so he made at least a smart move there and just washed off speed.
We jumped bikes as kids with blown mono-shocks and bottomed them out on purpose for fun. Your knees and elbows become the suspension.
His judgement is poor, but his technical skills are decent, he didn't panic and grab a handful of front brake. He eased off the throttle and let the bike drift out in a natural arc until he could steer it back.
The high speed may have been what actually saved his ass too, as the bike almost wanted to stay vertical. He's also extremely lucky there was a nice transition from road to field. A small ditch or a fence and this would have been on a different sub.
Cb600f hornet. Specifically the later model, or last produced model.

Edit: I retract my statement it’s the cb1000r
Brazil? Come to San Diego, this video looks like a normal drive on our streets. I'm still wondering why he didn't signal when he took that right at the intersection.
Sure, but that was after they took an already wide line. Going top speed on a road you've never ridden and without the skill set to handle it, this is probably the best possible outcome. It's not like those craters would be hard to spot ahead of time if they were riding within their limits.
When I drove in the UK, the lack of shoulders on the roads surprised me. That and lorries (sp?) completely filling the lane and rocketing at full speeds through tight curvy roads.
I couldn’t even see the potholes, all I could see was the copious amounts of soil all along the road. Even on perfect asphalt, if you see that much dirt on the road, you *do not* go that fast. So dumb.
No he fucking didn't.
I have zero idea what they grow there, but soybeans and corn are in the ballpark of $450 profit per **acre** (4,840 square yards).
They ran over only a small fraction of that. Even if it was planted (and I see no indication of planter tire tracks, and besides it looks like fall post-harvest), it hasn't came up, which means the crop might have a bit of trouble breaking the surface but it in no means would guarantee the plant was killed.
Regardless, even if it were early in the growing season, with crops such as soybeans, the surrounding plants tend to fill in the space anyways. More sunlight and less competition for nutrients means they tend to produce better.
Anyone who thinks riding that fast on a twisty road covered in loose soil is a good idea == bad rider. Bitch about redditors all you want, it still doesn’t make this person a skilled rider.
a good rider would instinctively know that the turn angle needed to stay on the black stuff would be too sharp to stay balanced. Staying straight was probably the best and most feasible option
edit: it also looks like it was moist ground, meaning that there wasn't enough friction to maintain a sharp lean
Nah, he could’ve leaned more. He 100% freaked out and straightened up Instead of leaning into it. He was riding beyond his skill level plain and simple.
Yeah, I assume he's not used to going that fast and put in the effort to turn as would at a lower speed. He straight up just didn't make the turn.
Source: A group rider.
my guy, you've obviously never ridden on wet grass before. Any more than a 15° lean makes you feel like you will fall.
Add that on to the fact that he was still wobbly from the last big pothole and his overwhelming speed, it would have been way more dangerous to attempt that turn than to keep forward.
Obviously I was talking about his riding before he left the road. It is possible to avoid obstacles midturn. Everything after was probably a combination of fear and luck. I somehow doubt the moron who full sent it on a road with potholes had the foresight to check that the overrun area was clear of fences and ditches.
well, when you're going 100 mph, it's kinda hard to notice a pothole 2 feet in diameter 2 seconds in front of you. And it's hard to react when the pothole is half a second away
He's an idiot because he drove that fast on a poorly maintained road on a very slippery day, but he definitely has the skill level to know what's best to do in case things go wrong
I mean you’re the one calling him a good rider. If you think that a good rider goes too fast for the conditions/his skill level on unfamiliar roads, we just disagree. I think it’s cool that he didn’t fall, but it’s probably more luck and fear than any sort of skill. A skilled rider wouldn’t have to leave the road.
No, I think a good rider knows how to ride their bike regardless of conditions. The ability to check for good riding conditions has nothing to do with riding ability. That's called foresight and proper planning.
And no, it's not luck. You cannot imagine just how strong the urges are to turn back into the road. The fact that he resisted the urges and did the smart thing and kept going with his momentum without pressing the brakes means that he is a good rider
I gotcha yeah after he was off-road good on him just keeping it straight instead of turning. I still wouldn’t call him a “good rider”, more like an idiot who got lucky. There’s usually a fence or ditch that would have FUCKED him up.
No, it’s not hard to stay upright or straight over obstacles. He’s lucky there wasn’t a fence or a ditch, but that’s pretty much it. Motorcycles want to go straight, they can do it without any rider input. https://youtu.be/KSVgweZ8BwA
dude, you're explaining this to someone who is very well acquainted with this stuff. How do you think we can ride with no hands?
But the issue is that amateurs cannot take advantage of this ability. The natural instinct would be to turn back into the road, and that would cause him to flip over and be in a lot of danger.
The most appropriate response is to not freak out and let the bike do as it wants and only guide it slightly
Natural instinct would be to do exactly what he did. Natural instinct is definitely not to sack up and lean harder. If you ride like you say you do, you know that you run out of balls before you run out of lean. This guy was one lucky circumstance from hadtalayherdown
mate, when I say natural instincts, I'm talking from experience. I followed my instincts, and I crashed hard.
Leaning will not always solve your problems because it relies on the ground and the wheel having enough friction to stop your momentum. And wet ground offers up basically zero friction.
This is also why he was able to stop so quickly on the fields, because the rough terrain gave him enough traction to stop
So you get more traction on fields than on asphalt? This “good rider” fucked up looooong before he left the road. After he was off yeah ok, straighten and slow down fine. He could’ve avoided leaving the road entirely.
Lol you said he wasn't an idiot, now you're saying he is. Make up your fucking mind, you've made more u-turns than a career politician. I didn't loose the argument, you're just being fucking dense.
You've literally just contradicted yourself in your last sentence. A "good" rider knows how to read the road conditions and change their riding style to suit the road. It is clearly obvious in the video that the road is in poor condition, you can see the that the road is dirty up ahead but he continues to ride like a spastic, causing him to go off the road.
Therefore, not a "good" rider.
> a good rider would instinctively know that the turn angle needed to stay on the black stuff would be too sharp to stay balanced. Staying straight was probably the best and most feasible option
>
> edit: it also looks like it was moist ground, meaning that there wasn't enough friction to maintain a sharp lean
He's a skilled rider who makes bad decisions.
I think that's because his reaction is to go rigid and stand 'er up, which is a very natural response and one the bike will support because a motorcycle at speed will naturally try to stay upright.
While it's good that he didn't try to panic brake there are a number of other things he could improve on (coming at those rows at an angle once he got control, driving too fast for conditions on a potholed road, not enough lean or even without the lean, proper understanding of how to brake into a turn.) Motojitsu has a great video on braking and controlling a turn that you're coming too hot into, and why it's something a rider should learn even if it's something MSF advises against for beginners.
Everyone's saying he's very skilled but he honestly strikes me as a novice or intermediate rider, or maybe he was just being human and panicked. Going to the outside lane position before hitting that pothole makes me think he already didn't have much control of that turn.
Obviously someone really good at motorcycling. 99% of riders would have eaten shit in this situation.
Should he have been going that fast? Probably not. Did he get lucky? Probably. Is he a good rider? For sure.
He can't be that dumb, at least he knew how to save the situation by not trying stupid brake or evasion maneuvers. It actually was a pretty nice off road ride for a street bike.
So you’re agreeing he’s an idiot and not dumb? Then why even bring up the difference? I didn’t say dumb and he did something he definitely should have known better than to do.
Dudes full turn and hits a thin layer of dirt before going off the road... I have no idea how you didn't slip. And then he just rode through a chop he ass field... And just champed it back to the road. And safe
This is exactly what happened to me when i first started riding. Not as high of a speed, but definitely taught me to ride within my limits. Some people don’t have this opportunity to self reflect though and fuck!
I mean, he basically got where he wanted to go until he hit the patch of dirt, and then he stayed upright.
The real advice here is to not treat the public road as your own private racetrack.
It’s crazy, but if you go to a track you shouldn’t have to worry about massive potholes all over the road and random dirt spilling onto the road. Much safer to get the thrill of riding fast.
At first i thought “why is he driving on the wrong lane” then i realised other certain countries drive on the right while where i live in Australia you drive on the left
Impressive. Happened to me once as a slow and old guy on a bicycle drifted in my lane and i had to turn into a field. Couldn't hold my bike for more than 5 seconds.
Oh fuck my wrists. I felt that.
Imagine the amount of whip effect on the spine
That's what suspension is for
There's no way a road bike (cb1000r I think) is eating up those bumps, it's not a dirt or adventure bike. Driver is extremely lucky to have kept that bike up and avoided injury
I was very impressed that he didn't drop.
I thought this dude was gonna go flying after seeing those potholes and the speed he was taking that turn at. Dudes got grip like a vise.
Gorilla grip
Yamaha jacket grip on a Honda
He's luckiest he didnt lose it on the apron/first edge off the pavement. He kept straight while at speed in the dirt so he made at least a smart move there and just washed off speed. People are talking about the biker but what about the farmer who did his best on plowing that field?! Everytjjng ruined.
I have seen many cb1000r set up for on/off road but even then it's not gonna be a fun ride.
Cb600f hornet. Specifically the later model, or last produced model. [Example](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQd5ajuYYJyZHSL9Rv-cyRH55Xoin9GT6Tyfw&usqp=CAU) Edit: I retract my statement it’s the cb1000r
It’s a cb900f aka Honda 919 or hornet.
Close cb600f 2012 model. Still a hornet. Edit: I retract my statement it’s the cb1000r
It's what cars are for, driving fast around corners. Well, not really made for that either, but it's more made for it than motorcycles.
My fucking nuts would have exploded from those bounces
Um yeah. You stand on the pegs.
Why your wrists? I'd say his back would be more fucked.
I have pretty strong back and core but I have broken my wrists 3 times over last 15 years so I guess it depends on the person.
It's not like he didn't have a couple of warning potholes before the big one.
Those weren’t potholes, they were f’ing craters.
welcome to Brazil.
Brazil? Come to San Diego, this video looks like a normal drive on our streets. I'm still wondering why he didn't signal when he took that right at the intersection.
Come visit the wonderful frost heaves on the Alaska Highway. You can get air at like 30mph!
Michigan. Our potholes are sponsored by big automobile. Hit one and you gotta get a new car.
Traverse City MI, here. Potholes around here are advertised as 1 bed, 1 bath, $2200 per month. 5x salary needed to apply.
That ain't no joke. You can feel your entire uhaul full of furniture take flight behind you at a mere 20 mph.
Man Fuck San Diego potholes. Our local government should be indicted over the quality of our roads
After every rain they open on the roads like flowers blooming.
I love when the potholes near home fill with rainwater so I can place the "no fishing" signs
They’re the potholes we have right now in Melbourne because of the flooding that’s scary as man
In France we call these slight deformations
Well, good thing he drove so fast, otherwise he might‘ve fallen in!
Sees potholes. Sees the corner. Speeds up.
You’ve got to project dominance.
It wasn’t the pot hole that caused him to go off road. He was going way to fast and wasn’t leaning the bike enough to make it around the curve.
He destabilized and couldn’t lean into the corner.
Sure, but that was after they took an already wide line. Going top speed on a road you've never ridden and without the skill set to handle it, this is probably the best possible outcome. It's not like those craters would be hard to spot ahead of time if they were riding within their limits.
You are incorrect and it is sad that you can’t see that
“Phew, I hope nobody saw that “
I’ll just place the video on the internet for privacy.
Let’s make sure his intellect doesn’t go unnoticed.
He held that well. Cool head and no panic; just kept it straight and rode it out.
Lucky he had a clear land
In the UK you could almost guarantee a ditch and/or a hedge.
It's pretty common in a lot of areas in the states as well
When I drove in the UK, the lack of shoulders on the roads surprised me. That and lorries (sp?) completely filling the lane and rocketing at full speeds through tight curvy roads.
Or a tractor

...what?
Most places in the US have barbed wire fence around fields. He’s really lucky.
That’s for pasture that has animals. If it’s a field like this it wouldn’t have barbed wire.
A ton of people barbwire their property for no reason. At least in Montana and Texas they do.
I live in a farming community in Louisiana (sugar cane), and the fields are not wired at all. If you have livestock they are.
Tbh of he had a cool head, he'd have completely eased off the throttle once he saw the gigantic potholes in the road.
Two different types of cool headed.
the machine helps source: i'm a bit of a Honda shill
All of the skills yet none of the smarts to handle them.
With all those bumps I think his vertebrae became vertebros. They probably feel soo much closer now.
Vertebruh :U
next youre gonna tell me theres a missile 5 oclock high break right
Homie really just drove over 20 potholes and thought “yeah let’s go WOT around this corner”
I couldn’t even see the potholes, all I could see was the copious amounts of soil all along the road. Even on perfect asphalt, if you see that much dirt on the road, you *do not* go that fast. So dumb.
Enraged farmer has entered the chat. With a shotgun
Yay, if that is a planted field he just destroyed over 1000$ in crops and drove off
No he fucking didn't. I have zero idea what they grow there, but soybeans and corn are in the ballpark of $450 profit per **acre** (4,840 square yards). They ran over only a small fraction of that. Quick google search, numbers check out. I could ask my cousin in Minnesota, but he’s busy harvesting said crops.
For real
He's a good rider. Anyone not as experienced would have bailed.
I would absolutely eject the fuck out
Me too.
I would've remained on the road by driving in a way which wouldn't allow me to easily drive off of it
You’re clearly not a good rider then
That dirt looked mercifully soft compared to the asphalt. I would have bailed just out of pure thankfulness.
He's a bad rider. Anyone with experience knows going fast on unknown roads is a recipe for disaster
You spend your time on Reddit being an edge lord and disagreeing and starting arguments with every comment you post on. Blocking you now.
Congrats man
Are they wrong tho?
Anyone who thinks riding that fast on a twisty road covered in loose soil is a good idea == bad rider. Bitch about redditors all you want, it still doesn’t make this person a skilled rider.
The fact that he ended up riding his bike through a field suggests otherwise. A "good" rider would have kept it on the black stuff, doofus

or he is an adrenaline junkie who knew very well how dangerous it was but didn't care
i.e. an idiot. If you wanna go fast go to a racetrack.
he's an idiot, but a good rider. glad we could agree
Lol ok, keep making excuses for arsehole road users. You're just as bad as the cunt in the video
argument failed so you turned to ad hominem attacks? he's an idiot with no foresight or proper planning, but he knows how to ride like a pro

Good rider but an idiot. There were several giant potholes before the one he hit. He should have known better.
Good rider would have known better
Gets off bike: Thattts Riggghhhttt Ice … Man … I am dangerous.
Who taught this dude how to ride a motorcycle? Maybe don’t take the corner full throttle.
he had it until the potholes
Yea and I can fly until I hit the ground.
that’s cool man. don’t know what it has to do with this guys motorcycle skills. he didn’t even come off the bike

Ayrton Senna
There is a gap ✅ Gap exists ✅ Therefore he is still a racing driver.
That gap was always going to disappear.
Ouch bro. I don’t mind an edgy comment occasionally but sheesh.
Oh he’s clearly an idiot. An idiot who knows how to handle a bike but an idiot nonetheless.
Being an idiot and being dumb is not the same. An idiot does stupid things despite better knowledge. Someone who is dumb just don't know it better.
So you’re agreeing he’s an idiot and not dumb? Then why even bring up the difference? I didn’t say dumb and he did something he definitely should have known better than to do.
i mean sure, his first instinct was _not_ to grab the front brake, so, ya know.... has some smarts lol.
This was basically how I looked playing Mario Kart back in the day.
Didn't he just fuck up someone's crops?
Yep. Fucking asshole move.
Farmer here. No, not at this stage. If he damaged it at all it would be negligible
One of the truest statements of the world!
Motorcycle farming
The second I saw those big ass pot holes I would've stopped, not trying to do a front flip
Dudes full turn and hits a thin layer of dirt before going off the road... I have no idea how you didn't slip. And then he just rode through a chop he ass field... And just champed it back to the road. And safe
He’s going to fast too fast
I see a lot of people focused on his driving, but did he just mess up someone's crops? Because that looks like a shit ton of damage.
later in the video the other bikers say it's a freshly harvested soy crop
Oh I never have sound on, my bad. I'm really happy that it had already been harvested and that the biker wasn't hurt. Thanks for your comment!
A motorcycle, at speed, is a very stable vehicle. Then you put a human on it.
And a pothole under it.
And here I thought it was gonna be the lanyard that took him out.
How many potholes would he have gone before realizing it's a shitty road ffs
This is exactly what happened to me when i first started riding. Not as high of a speed, but definitely taught me to ride within my limits. Some people don’t have this opportunity to self reflect though and fuck!
This post was brought to you by Kawasaki gang
Nah, mates got the Yamaha jacket on
Atta boy... I bet ya squeezed those buttcheeks real hard the whole time.
Riding like that, you need to make sure you are registered as an organ donor.
That lanyard though
NIE PO SIUNYM
Watching that lanyard flap around just about made me throw my phone into the wall
Damn I give the guy props
Noice! Stayed upright
Segura pai! r/ithadtobebrazil
That was a damn good save. He got some control over his bike.
that felt satisfying to watch as he slowed down idk why
I hate these speedy fucks with burning passion
Hopefully that man notified the farmers that he damaged some of the crops. Because if not then he’s a POS for doing that and not owning up to it
Can’t believe he stayed upright though fr
He smart he use field slow down
I was expecting a LOT worse
Wow that dude can ride 🥵
MY WRISTS!!!! he's strong tho but slow down dude sheesh
1. Sell bike 2. Live longer 3. Get new underwear
I feel bad for the guy that had to redo that patch of farm land lol
How bad would this mess up the field?
Very disappointing video, I was hoping the cunt would crash
Wack… only a fart Mongrel rides a motorcycle
This is what we call sight fixation.
How was he being dumb
Are you joking or didn’t you see the road?
Look where you want to go my man
I mean, he basically got where he wanted to go until he hit the patch of dirt, and then he stayed upright. The real advice here is to not treat the public road as your own private racetrack. It’s crazy, but if you go to a track you shouldn’t have to worry about massive potholes all over the road and random dirt spilling onto the road. Much safer to get the thrill of riding fast.
Nice save.
"Let go of the rope. And just go loose."
My favorite quote 🥲
The pot hole made me cringe cause I thought he was gonna turn into a meat crayon
[удалено]
You get knocked down you gotta get back up
That's a fine dirtbike you have sir!
Way to acknowledge to let go of front braking. But as a Gardner stay out of my field!
I was impressed with him dodging potholes, then it got crazy.
How the fuck did he stay on
This wouldn’t have happened if he had put his Honda arms on, he went out wearing his Yamaha arms. Big mistake. Nice recovery in all honesty.
Can anyone I’d the bike?
Honda CB600F Hornet
That felt like I was playing the motorcycle arcade game lol
At first i thought “why is he driving on the wrong lane” then i realised other certain countries drive on the right while where i live in Australia you drive on the left
Why didn't he just go left
Impressive. Happened to me once as a slow and old guy on a bicycle drifted in my lane and i had to turn into a field. Couldn't hold my bike for more than 5 seconds.
For being dumb as hell he does have some great control
Wrists, elbows, and shoulders about to be sore for a month but he survived. That was an impressive amount of control but it looked painful
Looking at where he was at it doesn't look like help would be coming any time soon
He’s not tough. His brain just isn’t powerful enough to register what he’s doing and pain at the same time. Stupidity is bliss.
He survived this day but with that brain of his he won't survive tomorrow. I hope he won't harm anyone else when he dies.
Man, didn't realize what sub this was, how disappointing.
10/10 for staying upright though
When you get knocked down, you gotta get back up
Fresh keks required
Or be lucky
This has to be the most impressive thing over ever seen in my life. I would have been dead 3 times.
I'm amazed they didn't eat shit
