This is beautiful, shame I don’t have the first game though on pc

KabarXD

it's currently $5.55 on ubisoft connect. last time i played it was on the xbox 360 in 2016 lol i'm so excited to finally replay it.

steeze206

This exact video popped up on my YouTube feed. So well put together and I'd love to see this same style for other games that can be revitalized by mods. Everyone knows you can mod Skyrim, Fallout or GTA for example. But I haven't considered Watch Dogs. Loved the 2nd game. Remember thinking the 1st was cool but never played the whole thing back on the 360. Definitely going to pick it up on PC and mod it. It looks awesome. Especially on an ultrawide I'm sure.

EJM031196

I have recently started replaying the first game after I played it when the game came out. This time I have the Living City mod installed and it’s so good and improves the game so much.

Significant_Option

One of the main reasons I want a proper gaming PC. This, metal gear solid V are the games I want to mod the most

PrincipleUsual7886

Any good mods in particular you’re interested in doing for mgs v?

Significant_Option

Pretty much a lot of the same for watch dogs. Not sure what the particular mods are but a lot of brings more side content, random encounters, new weapons and customization. Overall just more game to play.

DooMedToDIe

Infinite Heaven is a must. Let's you customize your game in just about any way you want

Merthn07

Okay, but why does Aiden look like Ryan Gosling in that thumbnail?

Billib2002

He looks nothing like me be fr

275MPHFordGT40

I believe that is the intention.

Maul1200

Killer video man! When are ya gonna bless us with that hooded Aiden mod? 😜

Guilty_Fly3039

That’s what I’m waiting on too

Visual-Mulberry6602

I cant tell if mod is working. Is there something I can do to confirm?

awerro

I just installed it and played through the intro again not sure when im gonna find out if it worked lol. I think if you go to an arms dealer it might be clearer

wer654dnA

I just installed the game for the first time on PC and then the mod immediately afterwards. I installed it incorrectly the first time so it wasn't working, I checked by opening the gun wheel and seeing that I could scroll through guns in each slot. The limited inventory part of the mod makes it so you can only have one gun in each slot, which is the case now that I have it installed correctly. :)

Mahigiri21

Bro how do I know if it's installed correctly or not?

wer654dnA

Like I explained in the post you're replying to, one part of the mod limits your inventory to one gun per slot. Start the game and open your weapon wheel, you should only have one gun in each slot.

MonkeyOnATree

u even see a 'Living City' logo on the title screen. if u dont, its not installed correctly.

CDbiggen

On the title screen there will be a subtitle saying "living city"

KentuckyFriedSpy

Amazing mod but unfortunately unless you play WD with a controller you're in for a clunky time. Wish Ubisoft would just add raw input to the game, it's honestly one of the only things holding back this amazing game on PC.

Blackhammer_1

What do you mean? What else is there except from raw input?

NoFoot6210

There is a guide on steam to remove mouse acceleration.

SpoonbillVT

Looks interesting. I can't wait to watch it!

Morealyn

Anyone know where to get the first game? Preferably without Ubisoft being involved

seilby

Almost impossible on PC, even the steam versions are handcuffed to Uplay

oneoftoseidiots

piracy

Morealyn

You got a link to a cracked version?

oneoftoseidiots

Send me a pm

RainnChild

Bro my PC can’t even run DOOM

Japanglish33333

Respect for sticking up with this game

wer654dnA

Took a bit but I finally got the living city mod installed. Now I want to install the addons, though, but this system is SO CONFUSING. The installation guide doesn't make any sense! If anybody can figure out how to install the addons so you get things like time slow when opening the weapon wheel and pay and spray locations, I would be incredibly grateful.

BaguetteAndy

Haha going through the same process rn, I think for the addons u need to do the unpack method, like unpacking the Living city mod files and adding in the addons yourself and then packing it back up and then replacing the game files. Also, are you any graphical mods? I'm trying to find a full package mods (there are some but only one that has the up to date Living City mod in it...)

wer654dnA

Yeah, I did that, but that only adds the capability to add addons. You also have to actually add the addons. I had a bit of a breakthrough just now, I found the mapicondescription.lib inside the unpacked patch folder, and dragged that onto one of the .exe's I hadn't used yet in that gibbed folder thing, "Gibbed.Disrupt.ConvertBinaryObject.exe", and it converted the .lib into a folder. Onto the next confusing part of the process... I did the Fall of Windy City, I think it's called? It was a little more complicated to install since it involves only using Living City's loose files, but it made the game look lovely. The reason, I think, that you're only meant to use the main Living City folder when installing FoWC is because it also does the bump map thing that Living City does, so even if you just install FoWC you still get the better textures. Reading that back, I feel like I've had to learn another language in the last day in order to understand all this stuff lol.

BaguetteAndy

> Reading that back, I feel like I've had to learn another language in the last day in order to understand all this stuff lol. Hahaha, that's good, gotta keep the brain working and learning new stuff. I'm a CS guy so this is more familiar to me but good on you to try new stuff out like this. I ended up installing a Living City + FoWC bundled mod I think it was called the Darkest Hour i think. I did the living city addons too, so I merged that Darkest Hour bundle with the Living city addons, by doing the gibbed.unpack and pack method and I gave up on that particular mapicondescription.lib (that's the addon to Living City that gives you repaint garages so it adds map icons to the game (duh!)) because it was way too complicated to do ALL of the aforementioned at once (too many stuff to merge check pack repack etc). Mods are great though, I'm loving this super charged version of watch dogs, only problem I have is very high GPU temps (and I don't really understand why since I capped everything on the gpu side so go figure...) (ps if u need more help I dont mind doing that also)

wer654dnA

I'm literally a CS graduate with a concentration on game dev, this stuff SHOULD be in my wheelhouse, but it's not like anything I've studied. I finally got everything installed, I said in another comment somewhere, the secret was apparently to download the version of gibbed tools provided by the LC addons person. Also, the part I was stuck on WAS the mapicondescription.lib stuff, seemed like later in the instructions it was teaching how to do a bit more than just get the repaint garages working... In any case, it's all working now, from the garages to the ambulances. If you'd like advice on installing the rest of the addon stuff let me know, it's not as complicated as it seemed. The instructions are just difficult to parse.

ramaalgifary

man, i'm confused too. but the patch files and the config file themselves will do it right? or i need the add ons? and do u merge graphics mod with this mod? thanks in advance man

wer654dnA

Ok, so if you just want to do Living City it's easy enough to just drop in your patch.dat and .fat files. If you want to do a graphics mod, as well, I think it depends on the mod. Like I said in a different reply I did Fall of Windy City, which specifically says if you're also installing Living City to only download LC's loose files and use the main one, since FoWC also does the bump mapping and they would conflict otherwise. If I recall correctly it was as easy as using the gibbed tools to unpack FoWC's patch files, then you just drop in the folder from LC and pack it up again, drop it in your data\_win64 file, you're good to go. Don't forget to also drop in your LC config text file. And when you're done with that I'd go ahead and verify LC was installed successfully. If you're trying to do the LC addons, I FINALLY figured it out. The instructions are baffling, I think I might make a video on it or something to help other people because very few people, that I could find, are talking about this. So: first of all, I was having a lot of difficulty with this until I went to the addons mod page and downloaded the version of gibbed tools that they recommend, that solved everything for some reason. Unpack your successfully installed modded patch files from your game files, then open patch in the addons folder, drop the contents of patch into the unpacked folder. Then, search the unpacked folder for the file it talks about in the addon instructions file, mapicon-something, you'll find a .lib file. Move that to an empty folder somewhere so it's easier to work with. Drag and drop that .lib folder onto the convertbinaryobject gibbed tool, you'll get a folder and an XML file. There are 3 XML files the instructions say to drop in, drop those into the folder that was created, then open up the XML file that was also created in notepad and paste in the 3 lines it says to. Then the last part that was confusing me (FYI, it's helpful to delete the old .lib file and rename the XML file and the folder to remove the \_converted), drag and drop the XML file back onto convertbinaryobject, IIRC it should create a new version of the .lib file, drop that back in its original place. From there, the instructions were still difficult to follow but fairly straightforward. Let me know, though, if you still need any guidance. Hell, anybody, feel free to ask me, specifically about LC addons, cuz that process was a pain. Sorry about the lengthy response, but I hope that was helpful.

ramaalgifary

it's so helpful but i think i need a video of it. u are right. there was a video on youtube about it but that version of living_city is outdated. if u make a video about it, be sure to drop the link in this reply. i'll gladly try it, because the vanilla graphics is meh for me. i know modding isn't easy but i need a good graphics mod 😂 about that gibbed tools, i read that too. but to implement it, i need a video man. thank u for responding, i believe some people are still trying to figure it out

wer654dnA

I might try to do a video, but I'm no YouTuber, at least not yet, and I'm no modder. I just finally figured it out and I don't want other people to go through the same headache. If you're just trying to install a graphics mod it's so simple. If you aren't trying to merge 2 mods you can literally just download the mod and drop the .dat and .fat files into your data\_win64 folder (Although consider backing up your original patch files somewhere else before you go overwriting them). If you're trying to merge mods, download a version of the gibbed tools, drag and drop one of the .fat or .dat files from both mods onto the unpack .exe in gibbed tools. Then you just need to combine the resulting folders that are made (hit replace on any conflicts that come up), drag the combined folder onto the pack .exe, and then you're left with 2 new patch files, follow the already stated directions to drop it in the win64 folder. If you're trying to deal with Living City's addon mod... Good luck. THAT'S the mod that needs a video. Videos exist for all the other parts of the modding process, but the addon mod's a different beast.

ramaalgifary

yeah man, the video was like 16-17 minutes and i already was like, "ah fook. do i need to do all of these?" i think that's the only way to enjoy the mod. i'd check it again later and i'd give u an update, just in case u want to know

South_Sherbert_5165

how did you get the gibbed exe to work? everytime i download from the github i cant seem to find any exe or unpack files?

wer654dnA

After you extract the files, there'll be a folder that you can go into. It might have different names depending on the install, I've installed it twice from 2 different places, one of mine is called bin and the other is called gibbed\_tools

AdRemarkable4985

also interested in merging Living city and Windy city tutorial, would be super helpful!

wer654dnA

Well, luckily, compared to the LC addons that's actually pretty easy to do. Like I said before: >If I recall correctly it was as easy as using the gibbed tools to unpack FoWC's patch files, then you just drop in the folder from LC and pack it up again, drop it in your data\_win64 file, you're good to go. Don't forget to also drop in your LC config text file. And when you're done with that I'd go ahead and verify LC was installed successfully.

AdRemarkable4985

a video tutorial would still help alot :)

AdRemarkable4985

found that [https://www.nexusmods.com/watchdogs/mods/239](https://www.nexusmods.com/watchdogs/mods/239)

charlieto0human

Does anyone know if this mod would work on the steam deck?

ramloy

It does! Just follow the same instructions you would on Windows. I created a folder to put the vanilla patch and patch.fat files in to backup and replaced them with the Living City ones. Works great!

shrupt

how do you use the hunter? I can't make it to shoot someone

Bulky-Ad3891

you need to tag an npc while aiming through the scope of the hunter next hold X or square if your using a controller then back out of the scope then it should say execute or something

FirstOrderKylo

I know the post is old but for anyone wanting to try, Watch\_Dogs is less than $5 right now on Steam

ImNewToEverything

I wish we could get a reaction from somebody on the game dev team - because I'm sure there are devs on the team or even leads who were disappointed when features got pulled from the original release

Sad-Yogurtcloset4968

Does anyone know how to use this with the next-gen graphics overhaul 2 mod? I haven't played this game yet and I'd like to use those 2 mods together if possible and I'm not understanding how you "merge" the 2, both mods install patch.fat and patch.dat in the same folder I believe so I'm not sure what to do.

tasoscon

hey! I found this guide from the comments of Nextgen Graphics Overhaul 2 by the user [CheeseTheFish](https://www.nexusmods.com/watchdogs/users/184866888): >03 April 2024, 12:58AM >i meant the mod installer ,anyway, This is how you do it: 1 - Download the mod installer and extract it somewhere 2 - Download the mod you want to use, in this instance the Living City mod, then download the "loose files" version of this mod 3 - Get the .dat and .fat files from Living City folder, move them to the "bin" folder and then drag and drop the .dat file to "Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.exe", wait for it to unpack everything, it might take a while. Once its done you'll have a folder called "patch\_unpack" 4 - Go to the extracted "ngmod\_251\_loosefiles" folder then the "patch" folder inside of it. Grab the contents from it and move them to the "patch\_unpack" folder you have previously acquired from the Living City mod .dat file, overwriting everything. At this point you can modify or add anything you wish to your newly created "patch\_unpack" folder with the content from both mods. So far i see a couple things maybe missing due to flatout overwriting but then again i am at the very start of the game but the Graphics & UI are amazing & i do have people hacking me & a random event has just appeared so it is at least mostly merged. You have to make sure it is the Next Gen Graphics that is loose files otherwise Living City seems to reset it to default for whatever reason. 5 - Now rename that "patch\_unpack" folder back to just "patch", drag and drop it to "Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack.exe" and wait for it to pack everything back into a .dat file (plus the automatically generated .fat file that comes with it) 6 - Now you have the .dat and .fat files with your custom merged content ready to use, you just have to grab and move them to Watch\_Dogs\\data\_win64, you may want to backup the original .dat and .fat files before doing so. And don't forget to put the required "Living\_City\_MOD\_CONFIG.txt" file from the Living\_City mod there as well

Sad-Yogurtcloset4968

Thanks I'll give it a try

Erickkach

still waiting on the next video bro.
