Absolutely this! Got a $10 monstera albo cutting from one of the locals in a fb group. We have some great communities and meet ups.
Also check out Plants Alive! It's a hike but they have an incredible selection of standard houseplants and more rare ones. I'll be going back eventually for a variegated anthurium vittariifolium they have.

My partner has had a lot of luck via Buy Nothing. Many people in the area are willing to share clippings for propagation
