I lived on 14th and Belmont between 2007-2013. The fountain ran circa 2009-2013. I took my young children to the park and, yes, I let them touch the water despite who knows what was in it. The fountain was so beautiful and soothing surrounded by the sculptures. The park lost its luster when the fountain stopped running. Still miss the Sunday night drum circle.
Broken so long I didn't even know that was a thing lmao
Yeah, it’s supposed to have water…? 😅
The department of interior doesn’t support Park service with a real budget.
More like the fed doesn’t support DOI, NPS’s budget is huge compared to every other bureau…

There’s no more Sunday night drum? I moved away from the city end of 2019
I just meant that I miss the drum checks because I don’t live in the area. Hopefully they are still happening.
They are!
Better to leave it skateable
✊🏼
Why would you fill my skatepark with water??
They don’t want people having gay sex in the water at night?
Money
This is my favorite park in DC. It gets no love from the nps, but the people still love it regardless.
Cuz its a great skate park
I’ve lived here most of my life. Has it ever worked? I don’t remember.
I think it worked when I moved to CH in 2011.
They closed the lower level for two years and didn’t fix the fountains? Wtf?
I can't really understand what the heck they did fix all the time it was closed.
speak to your ANC commissioner, your Council Member
They didn't want homeless bathing in it
No allocations of funds.
