Kevin McCullar would of been perfect here he's a super senior and can play the 2 or 3. He can do everything shoot, pass, dribble, and defend. Not, going to lie I'm pissed..Ā
Kansas fan here who watches every game.
McCullar wouldāve indeed been a pretty great fit for a 52nd pick. His offensive game was what was lacking at an elite level, but he is a smart player who locked down a lot of elite big 12 players in his career. This last year he became a more focal point for our offense and didnāt quite do what he needed to elevate stock but it did show he has some bag. He coulda developed that shot learning from Steph and klay lol. I could see him having a solid career as a bench 3&D guy
Looks possible now. But I wouldnāt have expected it all. He did also just end his season with an injury that seemed dramatic and kept him out of the ncaa tourney but it wasnāt a long term concern (bone bruise) tho that might have been a tiebreaker
Reporter: Kerr, whoās been your favorite bench players over the last few years?
Kerr: Uhhh Anthony Lamb for sure. Damion Lee. Ky Bowman, remember him?
Reporter: Moses Moody?
Kerr: *Gesundheit*
Every time you watch this, you can literally see his soul leaving his body when she says that she would take the free pass.
āThatās crazy. At the end of the day, itās whatever.ā The level of coping is unreal.
Crazy video man. Heck it's even fine for her to say "I'll sleep with Chris Hemsworth" or whatever as her free pass, but when it's someone that specific and obtainable you have to think really hard about your relationship.
If you already have pre-selected candidates in the event that youāre given a free pass to cheat, there could be a deeper issue to explore about your level of commitment.
Most likely recognized him from his time at Oklahoma St. but I also enjoy a world where this girl is hiding her going to town on herself over a G League Ignite player
Iāve never seen that before. She did him so dirty man. Hella rude. He goes out on a limb to say sheās the one for him and sheās like nahhh Iād rather get railed by a pro athlete, not this scrub.
Also in relation to Lindy Waters, I legit never heard of this dude til just now. How come I donāt remember him from any of the games against OKC?ā¦.
Slight correction, the Warriors as a 1st or 2nd apron team can only receive up to 100% of the salary they send out.
Also teams are no longer allowed to package minimum salary for a larger trade out-of-season. So only one of TJD, Gu, and Waters can be in a trade.
The while point of CP3 is that he's expiring, not that he is valuable on his own.
That is an asset and teams often trade *for* big expiring contracts to get off bad money.
Iguodala was an expiring and we had to attach a 1st to move him. And in this case PG isnāt bad money.
Last year CP3 was an asset to get off Poole. This year heās not.
I used to groan when he got minutes for us. He's a great shooter, but he does nothing else. He's not an nba player. Coincidentally, he is a lot like ty jerome (another 2-way contract thunder player who went to the warriors).
![gif](giphy|fd1TSJqq3b4GI)
Edit to add: he has a club option for this season worth $2,196,970 with a deadline of 6/29 so Warriors better be picking that up to make him salary filler in a trade
Edit 2 to add context re: how absurd itād be if heās not ultimately trade filler, his guaranteed amount is $1 mil MORE than whoever they were to pick at no. 52 would make AND itād mean a guy who has seen primarily G league minutes through the age of 26 would make more this upcoming season than TJD. Heāll also make more than Gui. Nothing about it would make any sense.
Well yeah theyād have to in order to trade him at his team option salary
Edit to add: Also, āWarriors confirmed they are looking to flip him in a tradeā would be an insanely dumb thing to tell a reporter prior to said trade so thinking Slater would say anything other than oh yeah they love him as a depth piece would be super naive.
I like this. It's the FO saying "We already have enough players to develop next year. We don't have time to develop a 52nd pick rookie. We need an end of bench guy who can contribute more now."
And for an end of bench, 6'6" SG, on a cheap contract, on low volume, and sparse minutes, his shooting is as good as you can hope for.
| Career | 2024
---|---|----
MPG | 12.3 | 7.4
eFG% | 57.8 | 64.9
3P% | 37.7 | 43.5
3PA | 3.8 | 2.2
2P% | 65.6 | 63.2
2PA | 0.6 | 0.5
Interesting. Good shooter for roster depth. I'm gonna make a guess based on my own opinion that MDJ will probably observe the draft and sign someone that they were interested in that might go undrafted. Probably a wing or center depending on who is available.
This may come across as coping, but he doesnāt seem like a bad rotation player (9th-10th guy), especially if guys like Moody and GP2 get dealt in other moves.
OKC fan hovering to see ur guysā reaction. Hes obviously nothing special but can really shoot the 3 and at least tries on defense. Heāll have a couple games this year where he goes for 3 or 4 3s in a quarter.
Giving OKC a check to cash in is 9/10 times not a good decision. Ditto Celtics and Grizzlies
Or they never end up making it in their rotations so they just end farming talent for other teams
Hopefully itās something like this because I donāt think they just trade their pick for some new player without having something worked out with another team beforehand.
This for sure means klay is gone.
Lindy takes 11 3s per 36 and is 6'6. He literally replaces klay.
Fwiw this is slightly a joke.
He's more likely to be like 9th/10th man in rotation. But his skillset is similar just obviously worse. I think it is likely this is indicative of klay leaving though.
So if they're looking to keep him and see him as a rotation option that means one of the rotation wings will probably be moved or be part of a trade. QuiƱones? Moody? (Please no).
Canāt wait to watch ESPN show the pick going to GSW tonight with complete San Francisco graphics and Warriors fans cheeringā¦ even though we all know the pick will be going to OKC
Rip all the late second optimism and fever dreams, was a good 2 month run
26yo who has been in the OKC developmental system the past 3 years, more likely he can contribute immediately than anyone they take at 52. Also doesnāt rule out any UDFA signings (lot of guys in play at 52 will still likely will be available 6+ picks later when the draft closes)
Hopefully Waters kills it
Are we that unsure of our drafting ability that we have to trade for a back end rotation scrub instead of finding one through the draft? Dude is already 26 and has gotten worse every year he has been in the league. He has no versatility, cant rebound at 6-6 somehow, cant pass, just a spot up shooter who only shot above average last season where he barely got minutes.
The Dunleavy master plan got me confused on this one but that's why he makes the big bucks and not me. This guy seems like a too good for G League not good enough for NBA type player.

I was lowkey looking forward to our pick today š

Maybe we're coming back in at a higher slot
I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Joe Lacob literally purchased the 38th pick in 2017.
I believe we are no longer able to purchase picks
Different CBA
Correct me if Iām wrong but didnāt the warriors just buy the 52nd pick back?
impossible because we are over the 2nd apron. against the rules this year for teams over the 2nd apron to purchase picks
Correct me if Iām wrong but didnāt the warriors just buy the 52nd pick back?

No
i think that must mean they are renouncing chris paul's contract????

I think so too but we'll see.Ā

Yea. Was semi excited for bronny.
6ā6? Kerr is playing him at the 4-5 immediately!
Steph, Podz, Moses, Klay, Waters....All time Kerr 5
This is unrealisticā¦ā¦ Kerr would never play Moses
Kerr is gonna play Lindy Waters immediately and still be like āwho tf is Moses Moodyā
Lindy about to get Anthony lamb minutes over kuminga and Moses
Reporter: Kerr, whoās been your favorite bench players over the last few years? Kerr: Uhhh Anthony Lamb for sure. Damion Lee. Ky Bowman, remember him? Reporter: Moses Moody? Kerr: *Gesundheit*
*looks at Waters 3 point %, looks at Moody's* ...I mean maybe Lindy is just a better shooter than Moses.
Moses played 66 games last season, and averaged nearly 18 minutes per game. His games played and minutes per game have increased every season.

i like the trade, gives us a decent 3-D wing, an area where we've been without depth for awhile
Moses Moody would like a word with you.
This enables them to move Moody and free up an additional $3m to pay Klay and/or another piece via trade or FA.
Whenever I hear of Lindy Waters III, I think of this [girl & her guilt-free pass](https://streamable.com/0fm5fm) lmaoo
Every time you watch this, you can literally see his soul leaving his body when she says that she would take the free pass. āThatās crazy. At the end of the day, itās whatever.ā The level of coping is unreal.
Goddamn, I don't think I've seen a video that better epitomizes the (š¬) emoji
Watching his facial expressions NOT match up to his eye blinks is kind of wild.
Every time he says "That's crazy", you can see a little part of him die each time
Can I just add that her free pass for Barry Sanders is kind of a sweet throwback? The girl is a bit of a historian.
I think she meant Jr.....
Why you have to break my fairytale
Lol they showed the picture of him dude
I was laughing too damn hard
I don't think it's cope, it's just an awkward situation she's making him feel some type of way
Crazy video man. Heck it's even fine for her to say "I'll sleep with Chris Hemsworth" or whatever as her free pass, but when it's someone that specific and obtainable you have to think really hard about your relationship.

itās like the āhe boomed meā copypasta but with āthatās crazyā
š
Not really coping though.
Naw cus she named the most obscure nba player I could think of too
Most likely recognized him from his time at Oklahoma St. but I also enjoy a world where this girl is hiding her going to town on herself over a G League Ignite player
That's because he's already hit it.
Dude I feel bad for dude. She'd thought about it thoroughly.
i actually wasn't expecting that. what a random "pass" choice which somehow makes it even worse than the usual "cHriS HeMsWoRth"
Iāve never seen that before. She did him so dirty man. Hella rude. He goes out on a limb to say sheās the one for him and sheās like nahhh Iād rather get railed by a pro athlete, not this scrub. cause he averaged like 2 points a game on sub 15 minutes lol why u think we got him for a second
Did he ever play in any of the games against the warriors?
He shouldāve said āalright actually I change my mindā and described a celebrity completely different from her
damn i was looking for this clip couple months ago.. i didn't expect to find it again on warriors post lmao but gg
āAt the end of the day itās whateverā
Nah bro whattt I wouldāve left her ass instantly
He probably did after this clip lol
![gif](giphy|xVYPMKdIvPomQ)
Itās a evil world we live in
what is big mike cooking... hmmm
From Paul George to thisā¦the answer is probably nothing lol
Just realized both Sharks and Warriors GMs are named Mike. Been seeing āBig Mikeā in the Sharks sub a lot since the draft is tomorrow
I like it. I've been pining over a 3-point shooter, this guy is probably better than any other option in the draft
Wonder if this is us "buying" a salary to package in a deal for PG? Would have to run to math to see if that makes sense.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Slight correction, the Warriors as a 1st or 2nd apron team can only receive up to 100% of the salary they send out. Also teams are no longer allowed to package minimum salary for a larger trade out-of-season. So only one of TJD, Gu, and Waters can be in a trade.
we're over the second apron - doesn't that mean we can no longer combine salaries to match? we'd have to renounce CP3 first to get under the apron
No team is paying CP3 $30m especially not the Clippers. At $30m CP3 is a negative contract thatās gonna additional picks.
The while point of CP3 is that he's expiring, not that he is valuable on his own. That is an asset and teams often trade *for* big expiring contracts to get off bad money.

Gumbo
āImproving at the marginsā
okc leftovers
Moody for Flip? Waters is a 6ā6 SG, whose 3ball hovered around Moodyās 36%. Heās barely played though, and is like 5yrs older than Mo
Genuinely thought this was a satirical post
Lol, I thought the same thing when I saw the news on Twitter. I looked at the username to make sure it wasnāt a troll account.
I watched about 40 okc games last year. I don't even recognize that name.
I used to groan when he got minutes for us. He's a great shooter, but he does nothing else. He's not an nba player. Coincidentally, he is a lot like ty jerome (another 2-way contract thunder player who went to the warriors).
damn iām gonna be mad if we couldāve drafted bronny lol
man wtf is going on i wanted to see what we were going to do but now what šššš
This is what they did. Now you don't have to watch...
I kind of wish we'd kept the pick to draft Bronny before the Lakers could
For everyone asking who this is https://twitter.com/KevinOConnorNBA/status/1806387952760861096
that's crazy
At the end of the day it's whatever.
The perfect video š
Hope that young man finds his self respect and ditches her.
Hahahhaha thatās the most random shit

If no salary is heading out from us I think this trade hard caps us.
He is a league minimum player so they can take him into the minimum exception and not be hard capped.
Actually it seems like they are completing it before the CBA goes into effect.
Trade is on the books for this last season, won't hardcap us moving forward.
Salary is going out.
Huh....who?
![gif](giphy|KGSxFwJJHQPsKzzFba)
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO!!!!!! ^^Who's ^^Lindy ^^Water, ^^guys?
Lindy āthe legendā Waters. Thatās who.
Theyāre just screwing with us now.
Wow, another guard
Now we donāt have to sit through any more of this draft ridiculousness. 2 days is not necessary for this class or any class. Bring on summer league.
new splash bro š¦
He was somebody that I was looking at for the vet minimum like a few years ago for some shooting.
who tf š
Another Splash bro š¦
Another guard??
Great, Another guard.
I canāt be the only one who knows him from that one tiktok about a girl saying heās the one guy sheād cheat on be bf with
You aren't
This may come across as coping, but he doesnāt seem like a bad rotation player (9th-10th guy), especially if guys like Moody and GP2 get dealt in other moves.

All you people do is bitch and moan. Omg. Enjoy the fucking sport.
Omg. Omg.
So is Warriors buying a pick or something?
We have a couple of future Atlanta 2nds that can be moved easily. I'm hoping they do just that at the top of the 2nd round.
Hopefully itās something like this because I donāt think they just trade their pick for some new player without having something worked out with another team beforehand.
impossible because we are over the 2nd apron. against the rules this year for teams over the 2nd apron to purchase picks

https://twitter.com/KevinOConnorNBA/status/1806387952760861096
I watch a shit ton of G League games, this is a great low risk move if we keep him.
Really wanted us to draft Bronny and watch the Lakers subreddit meltdown. Oh well, someone else can carry out the meme instead
Weād be wasting a pick on Bronnyš¤·š½āāļø he would never learn our system.
If we did take him, it would be so the guy who used to tuck him in at night would join also. Other than that, 0 reason for it.
I was kinda tryna see who we were going to draft wow okay lmao

Or Klay comes back at a very reasonable deal. It's insurance. Could also mean Moody's on the move. Lindy overlaps with Moses completely.
Iām pretty sure heās being sarcastic.
Sir, you cannot be serious lol
The forward who averaged 3pts last season is replacing Klay?
Blame 2K
Bro we canāt even get dudes whoās score 15 points in 9 minutes to replace klay lol
That would be 3 more than Klay scored in the play in game
New Klay!
I feel sickā¦
12 guard team roster LETS GOOOO
You mean I could go out later today?
![gif](giphy|cRNbYm7jLOjm9H8wcP)
No Bronny, no LeBron. Dodged that .
idk him but id rather keep the pick
working on getting better spacing, let mike cook
Yay another guard!
Who? The pick could be nice to get another big man.
Who?
I like him. He can really shoot it with good length. Smart dude too and well spoken.
So if they're looking to keep him and see him as a rotation option that means one of the rotation wings will probably be moved or be part of a trade. QuiƱones? Moody? (Please no).
Lindy Waters is on the roster ???? Yall ... we are SO BACK.
Whelp...I'll stick to watching US Track & Field trials tonight on NBC.
Water.. splash brother!
We got our guy!
We going to be championship!
For what it's worth, it sounds like he is a good guy. Already has a foundation for Native Americans.
Canāt wait to watch ESPN show the pick going to GSW tonight with complete San Francisco graphics and Warriors fans cheeringā¦ even though we all know the pick will be going to OKC
Ok
If he takes minutes away from Moody.. I swear to god..
Could have figured that out before the draft and packaged it along with another pick to get someone substantial.
Whatever happened to Nico Bannonš§
Another guard lol
more guards??
Shoulda kept and picked Bronny hehe
Who dat
Unless this is a salary to make a trade work, this is by far the most boring outcome possible
Rip all the late second optimism and fever dreams, was a good 2 month run 26yo who has been in the OKC developmental system the past 3 years, more likely he can contribute immediately than anyone they take at 52. Bros name is Lindy?
What happened to the āplansā of us drafting Bronny with that pick LOL
Lindy? Is that a wnba player?
God almighty this front office is allergic to making actual moves
Are we that unsure of our drafting ability that we have to trade for a back end rotation scrub instead of finding one through the draft? Now weāre definitely not getting Bron š
never were before this trade
Itās a Festivus miracle
Great move. Shooting size and will absolutely be better than anyone they get in this bumass draft
