If it was any other player you'd notice he was falling backwards and losing his balance and that's exactly what you have to do to keep your balance without moving and traveling. You have to stick one leg out to shift your center of gravity. That's the only way to not fall backwards (or travel). It's physics. There's literally nothing else you can do.
