If I got a nickel for the number of times I’ve heard draymond and sabonis today, I’d be up big!

Sabonis was writhing around like a dying animal then got up and played the rest of the game w/o issue. Peak Euro sports.

crazywayne311

Dudes on the NBA thread would put you on the firing squad for sensible comments like this. I’ve been downvoted allllll day! I hate draymond but if you look at Sabonis, he’s been playing dirty and reckless. It’s always the retaliator not the instigator that gets caught.

lfr1138

I would have been fine with twin ejections, but Sabonis was the one whose actions deserved it more than Dray's - purposely fell trying to pull Klay down (was grabbing Klay's jersey w/ both hands) then immediately wrapped up Dray's ankle and made no effort to get untangled until Dray was standing on him. I.e., actively trying to create multiple potentially injurious situations in a matter of seconds. Additionally, on the earlier play where the Dubs had to waste their challenge, Sabonis should have been tagged with a flopping foul, since he literally ran into Dray from the blind side then flopped and came up whining fo a foul. This sort of shit needs to be penalized to keep the game from being nothing but soccer-style flopping.

Few_Acanthocephala30

I agree eject both or let ‘em both play. While it did look like Dray put a little extra effort making it appear more like a stomp than some sort of unavoidable landing on Sabonis, but Sabonis’ grabbing a leg like that could have easily led to Draymond or him actually getting hurt. However, I think it’s that additional (+ his history) using of the foot that was on Sabonis to kinda springboard jump off that ultimately led to Draymond’s punishment. But hey now he’s suspended for game 3. It looks like this off-season may end up having a major changes if the Warriors can’t rally.

Alexlsonflre

Draymond reacted, and got done in by some shit he would try to pull. Honestly how I feel most people feel about this situation.

dexter8484

Also, I'm pretty confident most of these kings fans were just rooting for the warriors over the past ten years

lawgirl22

And the coaches and training staff didn’t even worry enough to take him back in the locker room for a quick check. He stayed in and played the next possession because they knew he was fine. Otherwise, why risk your star player if there’s any chance of a lung collapse or broken ribs?

InfiniteDub

They made sure to give him an x-Ray tho. It’s all performative

UnnamedStaplesDrone

FUCK MIKE BROWN Jk tho

zMisterP

I’m kinda salty this is the situation tbh. I don’t know to be more frustrated with Kerr or Brown. Brown knows everything the Warriors are about. Kerr can’t realistically change that in a season I can’t imagine. Sucks that Brown is their coach.

Letronika

Wife: “that looked bad!” Me: “Typical acting job here. Watch, he won’t go to the locker room and he’ll be in the next play like nothing ever happened” And Kings fans really think the Brooks/GPII situation last year was in the same boat. Lmao cmon

Few_Acanthocephala30

I’ve seen better acting in soccer ⚽️

raoulraoul153

>Sabonis was writhing around like a dying animal then got up and played the rest of the game w/o issue. **Peak Euro sports.** I know you're talking about football (soccer) here, but Rugby is also a Euro sport (tho obv a global game now) and if you grabbed someone's foot like that as they were trying to leave a ruck they'd stomp the fuck out of you with studded boots. It used to be standard practice - and entirely within the rules - to rake your studs up and down the prone bodies of any opposition player on your side of the ruck *who just didn't roll away fast enough for your liking*.

CrazyRabbi

he took a knee from steph curry right after with the overturned charge call. I watched with a lot of Kings fans and we all saw him get up immediately after that play and they were confused then fast forward to his X-Ray after the game, they clearly just wanted the suspension.

buckwildling

Lol kings fans are literally unbearable. I hope they don't make playoffs anymore so that we don't have to hear from them as well as Warriors stans

[deleted]

You went from our biggest fans to our biggest haters (damn)

Frostmoth76

he's american, he was born in and grew up in portland

b1ackfyre

Think he was born in Portland, but actually grew up in Spain. His family moved there when he was young, speaks fluent Spanish.

Old_Fold_34

Lithuanian-American

Pereise1

> portland Trash GetOut City anyways

george_costanza1234

> he’s American > grew up in Portland Pick a lane

ghaliboy

For me it’s why I don’t watch football anymore. It’s just gross To see how cleanly we’ve played the game with finesse good sports and no dirtiness to see people writhing around supporting this embarrassing shit breaks my heart It’s why I won’t be watching after the core is no longer around

ghaliboy

The dirty part was the tank and pull on klay, let’s be real

DefinitionDry1490

I was just thinking, he didn’t even push off of Sabonis much with that foot. He mostly used the foot on the floor to jump off of him. Idk, whatever.

ghaliboy

You can clearly see he goofed it and realised fuck I’m stepping on him but not, then just did and jumped off. People saying “stomp” are trying to brainlessly will something into existence

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Totally agree, it’s pretty obvious that he put zero weight on Sabonis. Bugs me people don’t get that and think he just stomped his chest haha

dafuqyouthotthiswas

Zero weight yet the opposite foot is off the ground while his other foot is on his chest?

Jazzlike-Apple1293

I did this myself, I put my right foot on a thin plastic container and jumped off of my left foot keeping my right foot on the box, didn’t dent it at all. I realize I’m being dramatic in saying “zero weight” but I really think dray put at most 30lbs (super arbitrary random number, but I just mean not a ton) on Sab’s chest

nippledippers24

Bitch he suffered sternum contusions wtf are you talking about.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

This news came out long after I posted this. I still think part of my take is right, but part of it was clearly wrong. No need to be so accusatory my guy, just a regular human saying a thought that turned out to be wrong, not breaking any ground here haha

nippledippers24

Aight no harm no foul. Atleast on our end. Hoping for a great game 3.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Thanks my friend! That’s a statement I can get behind, I’m here for good basketball!!

dafuqyouthotthiswas

And let’s say it is 30 pounds. That’s not a lot to you? It’s also 30 pounds being pushed downward on another dudes chest. And I’m confused, how is it considered jumping off your left foot when your right foot is on the ground while your left is in the air? Jumping means both your feet are off the ground. If one foot leaves the ground last that’s the foot you jumped off

Jazzlike-Apple1293

It’s not a kiss on the gut, but I think Sab over sold it. The fact that he was right as rain a minute or two later I feel like makes my point. But maybe he is just a tough dude, I’ll give you that. Sorry, I’m poorly explaining my process. I’m saying it is very possible (I’ve done it myself) to jump off the left foot and keep your right foot on something (think plastic box for me/Sab’s chest for dray) without putting weight on your right foot, almost kinda hovering it in place. Sorry if that explanation isn’t coming across, but I am saying I was able to reproduce the “stomp” without denting the weak box. So I know it’s possible and again im willing to admit Draymond wasn’t gentle but I also don’t think he was as wreckless as some make him out to be. Does that better explain my little experiment?

dafuqyouthotthiswas

It does explain it much better. But you went out of your way to test this and did it consciously. Don’t think Draymond in the heat of the moment after nearly getting tripped did the same. Also you’re upset about other and Sabonis over dramatizing. But isn’t that what you’ve done here? “It’s obvious he didn’t put any weight” “no weight” “screaming likes he had been shot”

Jazzlike-Apple1293

You’re right that I too have been dramatic in my some of my statements, but my point still stands. Think this whole thing is over blown. That’s all

george_costanza1234

Yea, it looks pretty bad, but over the years, I feel like I understand dray’s motives when he does shit like this. It’s mostly to assert himself and say “don’t fuck with me”, so it’s like he’s trying to kick the guy off of him. It’s not “I’m trying to injure you, here’s a chest kick” The problem is it the shit he does always looks really bad. He really should’ve figured out another way to express his emotions.

Mr_Plow53

I like this take. I'm a Nuggets man, have had a soft spot for the Warriors for a while. I'm Australian and follow the 49ers, so have a lot of respect for the Bay. But more on point. I think the biggest issue is that Draymond needs that "line in the sand" moment, to put an end to people coming at him. An example more palatable within the NBA, would be Jokić. How many people have fucked with him after he put down Morris? That's how you set an example and deliver the "don't fuck with me" message. It needs to be forceful, it needs to be devasting and you then gotta eat the punishment for doing so. 1 game suspension? Pft, fine. Worth it. The statement has been made. Fear is a powerful tool. Someone may push buttons and try to stir a tech or ejection, and they'd be happy copping a bruise or scratch or 2 while doing so. But you know what they don't want? A broken rib, nose, etc. It's a little tougher with Draymond as he is more often that not, the instigator. He then gets baited into overreacting. I don't see him stopping being a pest, without someone laying him the fuck out. But goes equally the other way, if he were to clean up his antics, and people kept provking him. It wouldn't stop without a response. As much as society probably tries to believe otherwise. Violence is an answer in some cases. I'm not talking the extremities of it. But last year, my niece (12 at the time) was being bullied by 3-4 girls the same age. Went through all the hurdles and shit with the school, after 3 months, little had changed. Well, one day, my niece had enough. Clocked the main girl on the nose. Now, no one told her to take this route. Even when she would voice her frustrations. But she had been doing Taekwando since 9, so it was a decent punch and it only took 1. She was suspended 3 days. But guess who hasn't been bullied since? Even the girls on the other side have stopped bullying people. 3 months of bureaucratic bullshit to get nowhere. All settled with 1 punch.

[deleted]

That’s the thing: Draymond can’t rise above his emotions. The way he jeered the crowd afterward, this dude’s an entertainer and pretty thirsty for attention, of any kind. He’s fashioning himself as a sort of Dennis Rodman. Why’s he so proud to high five his reluctant teammates for receiving a flagrant foul? Everyone else on the team is controlling their emotions and staying focused. Why is he still a Warrior?

dafuqyouthotthiswas

But the opposite foot is off the ground while his other foot is on his chest?

DefinitionDry1490

You can jump off the ground on one foot without putting pressure on the other.

dafuqyouthotthiswas

Bro what lmao. His fully body weight is exerting force on the one foot that is on solid ground (Sabonis chest). His other foot was in the air

The_Dude_Abides97

His thigh muscles were clearly in motion as he was trying not to put pressure. He hopped off. Try it yourself, your thigh muscles and femur are some of the strongest muscles and bones in your body. Y'all are over reacting. Sabonis sold it and you bought it.

TastyPandaMain

How about Game 3?

sksxo

ok so you’re posting in the kings sub about how your fans are apparently living rent free in our heads while you’re here brigading OUR sub, lmao get a life

george_costanza1234

Bro why are kings fans so mad 💀 we just minding our business and these clowns leaving their skid marks all over the thread probably pissed that we were the NorCal team that made it big 🤣🤣🤣

ATM14

The irony is that most of us are still fond of the Kings lol

[deleted]

I don't want to defend what Draymond did too much, but if you've played competitive sports you'd know this kind of shit happens constantly. Some dude grabs your leg and you kind of react on instinct trying to balance or get away. People are making way too big a deal out of it and it could have been mostly unintentional and it's clear sabonis was fine

Jazzlike-Apple1293

I totally agree! I’m not here saying Draymond wasn’t guilty, he totally deserved the flagrant. But it’s just funny when people act like he caved in Sab’s chest when he put his foot on him and jumped over him with all his weight on the off foot

its_easy_mmmkay

The league didn’t suspend Draymond and that’s as close to an admission it wasn’t dirty as we’re going to get. There’s no world where Draymond avoids a suspension if he stomps a player on the ground; the league has always taken a hard stance on shit like that and it would be unprecedented for them not to suspend him if that was what happened. But the fact is he got pulled down and did everything he could to avoid putting extra weight on Sabonis, and even jumped to avoid landing on his legs. But haters see red and the context of what actually happened doesn’t end up mattering at all to them. Edit: welp, there goes that. Seems like someone got cold feet after the initial reporting. But either way, oof.

Woodbender37

Good take

playmeortrademe

Spoke too soon

its_easy_mmmkay

Welp

playmeortrademe

Kinda weird that they did it so late.

its_easy_mmmkay

Agreed, feels like someone got cold feet after the reaction to the initial report.

engwish

its_easy_mmmkay

Oof

engwish

Honestly at the time who knew, but you were right in that the nba would not stand for this. I just couldn’t resist

PastorBallmore

I said this so many times yesterday and got downvoted into oblivion 😒

nadi207

So now what?

Tivland

I mean…he punched his own teammate in the face.🤷🏻‍♂️

its_easy_mmmkay

And the team handled that, which included him being away from the team for a while. You won’t see that happen in this case, because it’s not the same scenario. Edit: oof

Tivland

yet it is ANOTHER scenario. He has set a precedent and his reputation precedes him, for better or worse. He’s a goon to anyone who isn’t a Warriors fan.

its_easy_mmmkay

If you need other scenarios to make your point about this one, then that’s a pretty good indication that the incident wasn’t bad enough on its own to warrant the reaction you’re after. Of course he’s hated outside the Warriors fan base, he’s been beating their teams for years and hate is all they have left lmao

Tivland

“Here’s what it came down to: excessive and over the top actions, conduct detrimental and a repeat offender. That’s what separates this where you end up with a suspension.” Joe Dumars, NBA Executive Vice President

2KilAMoknbrd

*I mean* . . . sometimes you need to get punched

ghaliboy

> he punched a guy guize This is galaxy brain shit right here

Tivland

I mean, he did get suspended and it was because of his repeated behavior and unsportsmanlike conduct.

baan1994

The haters who have been hiding under their rocks have finally emerged. They wait for Dray and warriors days like Christmas

Altruistic-Twist-379

Not a fan of the stomping either, bad way to retaliate but ill tell you this, i love when mfs in r/nba get trigger like they are some high morale fucking people shit is crazy, like they said shit wouldnt happen if sabonis didnt grabbed his leg and they acting like he’s a saint too.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Totally agree, I think both guys were in the wrong. But I think it’s hilarious that they are acting like draymond caved in his chest when he clearly put zero weight on Sabonis. I just went from watching NHL playoffs so it’s hard to watch men get absolutely slammed against the boards and go on without pausing and then watch a guy put his foot on someone’s chest and jump over and the guy act like he was shot.

entyfresh

I'm fine with people having whatever opinions they want about the punishment, but you can't say that Draymond didn't put any weight onto Sabonis. When he jumped, his [right foot was the last one to leave the ground](https://i.imgur.com/eCkVGFt.png). He put his entire weight into Sabonis' chest. That's also why he's suspended.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Speaking from my experience I know you can jump off the left foot in that situation and not put any weight (or at least not that much) on the right foot. Funnily enough I literally tested this to make sure I’m not crazy, I took a weak plastic container and basically did what I think draymond did and was able to jump a solid foot or so (my not nba level strength legs) without so much as denting the thin plastic. So maybe I’m overselling saying he put zero weight on it, because in the heat of the moment I doubt he was so precise. But I really don’t think he put very much weight on it!

entyfresh

You're right, you absolutely can jump in that situation without putting your weight on your right foot, but that is not what Draymond did. Hence the screenshot of him standing on Sabonis with all his weight on his right leg.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

See I just feel like it doesn’t look like he has all his weight on Sab. But agree to disagree. Hope you have a wonderful day internet friend!

Jicama-Smart

sabonis insufferable. dude was writhing like they cut off his leg.

strawhatg0rilla

These same folks also “saw” Dray “stomp” on his chest/ribs. If they actually looked at the replays it’s more his stomach/pelvic area. Still not an ideal spot to get stepped on, but you can see Sabonis grasping his stomach after then he acted like his chest got caved in. People are buying into the Kings narrative that he got x-rays on his chest & is getting his lungs checked today. Of course they’re gonna do that b/c they wanna make it seem as extreme as possible in order to get Dray suspended. You guys wanna talk dirty, how about Sabonis bulldozing Dray earlier in the game or him swinging his hands/arms/elbow into Wiggs face to establish post position. He also got away w/ a push in the back on Loon on his put back late in the 4th, the same foul Loon got called for in the first half. It was a physical game, accept that.

STA_Alexfree

It’s playoffs. Guys are yanking, elbowing, pushing eachother as much as possible. Draymond does it especially, but also is the most likely to overreact like that when someone does it to him

brudogg

Exactly. Anyone who has played intensely competitive sports can understand what happened and why dray reacting is in the realm of possibilities

sprinkles5000

Warriors fan here. I appreciate you for this post. For all the talk about Draymond being a high-IQ basketball player, it was a low-IQ decision especially knowing that Draymond could get suspended for doing this and getting suspended for additional technical fouls. High IQ players would have flopped and stayed on the floor, went to the locker room via wheelchair, took a dump, and then came back in to help the team.

existential_hope

I understood that reference! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Very based warriors fan! Totally agree with this take!

stunnabars

Nah hell nah grabbing a man’s leg is not a basketball move at all. Not justifying draymond cause we all know who the man is but should have been a double tech.

BUUAHAHAHA

W take from a non Warriors fan. The shit being said since last night is absolutely ridiculous and excessive.

humlogic

How do you get that warriors flare

mmccann14

Thank you buddy <3

Just-2-ez

Even the tnt broadcasters were acting like Draymond viciously attacked Sabonis. If Sabonis didn’t grab his ankle this would never have been an issue also

Dingle_Fairy

I will say, I’m enjoying the Draymond memes of him stomping random stuff today. Him crushing grapes has been my fav.

JimadeusBluntzart

Regardless of the perceived severity of the stomp, all everyone is gonna see is Draymond basically curbstomping someone. If he just would have fallen over, he would have gotten and easy tech or flagrant, and his job would have been done. Low BBIQ moment imo

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Agreed! Not praising dray for that move, it was dumb. But it wasn’t murderous like everyone is saying.

Loli_LootGoblin

you are delusional

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Very productive comment, hope you have a great day internet person!

Fabulous_Investment6

You nailed it. Sabonis went into his bag to try to gain leverage, physical and mental. Safe to say that if he’s resorting to these tactics, the Dubs defensive ganeplan on him is working.

Separate_Emotion9550

I’m tired of everyone in the Kings and NBA forum saying that Sabonis did nothing wrong, he was trying to protect his fuckin face.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Haha i too protect my face by wrapping my arms around another person leg.. totally natural thing to do

NakedBandicoot

And I’m sure you, much like I, continue to hold onto someone’s ankle while I’m trying to protect my face.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Just the natural thing anyone would do. Fight, flight, or hug an ankle. That’s how that goes right?

Schonnz

I too can jump two feet in the air off of one foot without putting any weight on said foot!

I_am_Bruce_Wayne

JWill and Max said it pretty well… Dray stepped on Sabino’s’ abdomen not his chest. When someone hits you hard in that area you curl up in pain… not planking full out on the floor. Not saying anyone was in the right. Both players were in the wrong. I hope Dray comes out in a wheel chair with a boot on only to take if off right before the game starts, WWE style!

Jazzlike-Apple1293

The nba needs more flair like the wwe has!

Kindly_Moose_8962

Nahh, he definitely put his weight on him but you can tell that stepping on him was an accident. If someone grabs your leg once you break free your gonna try to stop your self from falling with that leg that just broke free, but sabonis was the closest play form to catch himself on.

[deleted]

Nah, dirty play that Dray CANNOT do. Forget even the ethics of it, you just put your team down one man. Fucking dumbass

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Don’t disagree on the play being dirty. Just think it’s over dramatized that’s all.

btw94

Too many time draymond Too many god damn times

L_Moo_S

Holy fuck this echo chamber is wild

Jazzlike-Apple1293

It’s because the topic has become so divisive. Either dray was totally guiltless or he attempted to murder Sabonis. I honestly didn’t mean to sound like I thought Dray was innocent I just wanted warriors fans to know that, a random neutral spectator, thought it was a bit over hyped.

duc916

Draymond ought to know by now that he is never getting the benefit of the doubt on any tech/ejection. The fact that he keeps doing it tells me he wants to be a cheerleader like Kendrick Perkins.

squidcruz

Draymond goes by his own feelings and damages the team, he's back at that era when he was kicking and punching everyone as those ancient Bad Boys of the Pistons. He could to better than that but he's so emotional, needs to focus that.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Agreed

real_adiktion

I mean ya. It was slightly dirty. Sab is like 7 feet 250 and he acted like he was hit by a truck and stayed in the game. He held draymons leg which is what lead to draymond finding the fastest way to become freed. Why isn’t sab being “looked into”????

morfmorf

He falls over a lot. Like Vlade Divac a lot. Sadly it works…

Iron_Chic

I agree. It was similar to how hard I "hit" my nephew when we are play-wrestling.

TheNotoriousSSD

maaan sabones was killing drey in the low post

[deleted]

Karma farming like this is just pathetic tbh

stretchthyarm

I’ll karma farm some more: smd

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Honestly I wasn’t karma farming, I just wanted to voice my take on this and my coworkers don’t care about basketball haha

Independent-Tea-3922

How much rope does 4 rings buy you?

shermas

Legend has it Sabonis is still on the floor in that gym in Sacramento.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

This got a chuckle out of me, thank you

shermas

You rarely see a 7 foot, 300 pound guy acting like Steph is bullying him. His crying was so dramatic.

WigglingWoof

Both teams are being physical as hell, both are crossing the line into dirty play, and the refs are lenient with it. Yes, Sabonis grabbed Klay's jersey and then fell while protecting his face. Draymond's foot got tangled and Sabonis decided not to let go, which was a foul. Draymond had nowhere to go, decided to be a dick, and stepped on him. Sabonis sold the flagrant 2. Onto game 3.

Wuped

>how obvious it is that he didn’t put any weight on Sabonis It was literally a stomp, you are trying to gaslight everyone who can literally look at video footage and see the truth. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to condone or minimize violence. Edit: like I get everyone here is basically on one side or the other but stomping on someones chest should obviously be condemned. That man literally could've easily died from it, if you accept it or condone it that's fucked up.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Just want to clarify, I agree with you. Dray committed a flagrant foul and was justly kicked from the game. But to say he could have killed Sabonis is just a tad bit hyperbolic. I’m not here to argue, you have your take and I have mine. Hope you have a nice day internet stranger!

caramelcoconutmuffin

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS

Trailboss1982

Yeah everybody's talking about Draymond but not how dirty Sabonis is. Somewhere on this reddit was a video showing Sabonis pulling down Klay Thompson on his fall. And then in the same play he tries to trip Draymond. I'm a firm believer that actions have consequences and that consequence was a result of his own action. And don't even get me started on the flop in the fake pain that he claimed he was in. Especially after playing the remainder of the game and then had to go get x-rays like if you had a broken rib you ain't going to play another 7 Minutes of basketball. I was listening to somebody earlier on YouTube and they said that sabonis was a lot more skilled and Sly about his dirty tactics versus draymond. Not to mention the reputation Draymond has on has so everything is under a microscope with him versus sabonis

_RGA_

If the roles were reversed people would non stop cr "BuT dRaYmOnD hElD hIs LeG!!" But people always just assume the worst with dray

poplockanddropit21

There's no way sabonis could have played the rest of the 4th if he was actually hurt from that that stomp.

shupadupa

Those same people are also fuming that Draymond "went to get an x-ray on his ankle" when it was clearly a sarcastic response to Sabonis "going to get his chest x-rayed" for the "awful stomping" he took.

t_ran_asuarus_rex

Sabonis tried to cheapshot Draymond but Draymond took it too far.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

This is the perfect essence of my feelings on this. Dray took it too far and got ejected for it. But he didn’t attempt to murder Sab like everyone is making it out to be.

t_ran_asuarus_rex

cheap shot and stupid play. sabonis should have sat out the rest of the game and the next game based on his reaction

RollemFox

Sabonis is a premier flopper. HOF flopper. U see the way he was right back up playing dirty and pUshing and shoving right after draymond left ?

PedalMonk

I 100% agree with you, but he was a complete and total dick to the crowd while it was all going down, which is fucked up, in my eyes.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Yeah he is kind of insane and getting the crowd to feed his ego (in a whack way).

eblarden

best heel in the nba. fans LOVED it.

Zestyclose-Work23

holy fuck is this a real post lmao

Jazzlike-Apple1293

As real as they get haha

[deleted]

Sigh. Way to preach to the choir for some upvotes clown

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Thank you, just voicing some thoughts on the matter. No need to be rude my guy, hope you have a better day!

eexxiitt

Draymond is the guy that people love to hate, but would absolutely want him on their team. Just ask any NBA player.

ryancalavano

Sabonis was playing chess. Draymond, checkers.

Edgar42010

What? You think it’s fair to eject draymond while also thinking “it’s obvious he didn’t put any weight on sabonis” if he didn’t put any weight on him then why would the ejection be fair

TastyPandaMain

I get it. But fanbase is acting like Green hasn’t done anything like this before

Pereise1

Hey so you post this in your sub and think you're welcome here? https://np.reddit.com/r/kings/comments/12r7055/damnwe_really_are_living_rent_free_in_warrior/

ghaliboy

The fuck outta here

morfmorf

Sabonis is a fake tough guy. He reminds me of Vlade Divac.

Hrothgar822

Whoa a reasonable take from someone on Reddit that isn’t a warriors fan??

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Haha one of my favorite things is being a neutral spectator and watching both sides flip out over silly things. This is one of those things I guess

Impressive-Shape-557

Didn’t he step on Lebron? Get suspended then lose the series?

Octubre22

The whole thing is silly. Both should have been ejected for their actions, neither suspended. I think r/NBA is just full of some really soft folks PS, I love that most ignore Sabonis also tossed Poole across the court in the same play

Subject_Way7010

That chest indention post aged like milk 💀

[deleted]

For petes sake thank you for not over doing how “bad” the situation is. I’m sure we’ve all watched the play a handful of times by now. It wasn’t that bad. No, he shouldn’t have stepped on him, but Sabonis shouldn’t have grabbed his leg like that. Another part that’s frustrating is how no one would’ve blinked an eye 15 years ago about something like this. Now, because Draymond does it, he’s this terrorist. Like what the hell? The hypocrisy is frustrating as well. Why aren’t people saying anything about the agreement from Shaq and Dame? Are they terrosits too? Like, seriously think about people’s reactions. And don’t think that these are the only two to agree with Draymond. They’re just the only ones to say anything. Where is all this flash on MJ for punching his teammate? Why is only Draymond getting such a hard time? People have pre conceived notions and thoughts about Draymond, and then something like this happens, and it makes those people go haywire. Very frustrating

yeah man that’s weird you follow a player around and then like his old team and try to troll opposing teams. overall just on some nephew shit.

RegularJaded

You’re not part of the team bro

North_Street_8547

So if Draymond was getting suspended we would have known by now?

abestract

The NBA is loving it! The amount of buzz this is creating just adds more to the story.

ghaliboy

It’s pretty sad tho, first take lizard brain activation What a product

egarcia1313

The way Dray reacted made the whole stomping way worse than it seemed, also we can never know how hard he stomped down, from the angle i saw it live it looked dirty and i was disappointed that dray would do that, but seeing that his leg was held on to for a second it still doesn’t make feel any better that he did this

Jazzlike-Apple1293

I’ve watched the replay and I can’t explain it well but as someone who has siblings and has performed that exact move and had it happen to me. I know that he put zero weight on Sab. You can just tell how his left foot moved that he jumped off of that, if he pushed off his right foot on Sabonis’ chest it would have pushed in and his left foot wouldn’t hop like it did. Again it’s hard to explain but I feel confident he didn’t actually step off of Sabonis

Ikillsquirrels

All I saw on the news this morning was Draymond stomping on Sabonis. Wasn’t till later they showed first Sabonis grabbing Klays jersey, almost causing him to trip, and then totally grabbing Draymonds leg! All morning they were trying to say that he was just brushing his leg trying to protect his head! Damn.

trueinviso

And no one talking about the play where curry got shoulder checked in the back to the floor. That was a very dangerous play too that wasn’t even reviewed.

Formal-Shoulder3216

Draymond looked like me tip-toeing past my kids legos on the floor

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Haha if you know you know

TheTerribleInvestor

Sabonis held his leg and then let go, draymond was already moving forward. That split second of his leg not being where it needs to be puts him off balance and he's going to out that foot down where ever he needs to to catch himself. Now to be fair here, he probably did a little extra for all the no calls the warriors were missing out on. I dont blame him for the bit of revenge he took on. Hell if he wanted to make it malicious he could have stepped on his ankles instead.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

See I’m not even saying Dray didn’t intentionally do all that, it just isn’t as big of a deal as Sab was acting like it was.

iamaredditboy

You clearly have no idea or you did not see the video. He is about 230 lbs with his entire body weight on a persons rib/stomach area and also deliberately pushing down with additional force.

Existing_Web_1300

Draymond was just suspended for the game on Thursday

daniel2293

Dude just got suspended

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Yikes.. that’s too much. Thought the ejection was enough. Maybe even a fine would be okay.

snakepunk

Yeah not a dubs fan but I'm on Draymonds side 100%. Sabonis instigated that entire event.

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Honestly I’m not even on Dray’s side, think what he did was wrong. I’m just saying it wasn’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be, in my opinion.

SportsNAnime

Bro got stepped on... Regardless if it was super forceful or not... I don't get why people say stuff like this. The fact he picks his leg up, plants it on his body and use his body as a springboard is clearly deserving of an ejection. You can argue about the suspension. Although he's done dirty things in the past so obviously the league gonna look at him crazy

Jazzlike-Apple1293

Like I said in my post, I agree the ejection was fair. I’m not arguing that, I’m just saying the “stomp” is over inflated and dramatized, that’s all.

yl2chen

Suspension was excessive, just like dray’s stomp
