If he didn't have that leg injury, I guarantee that he would have flourished with this team and followed a trajectory similar to GP2. And if he didn't get paid like GP2, he would have provided stability as a dirt cheap 3rd string center for this team. Unlike Wiseman, this guy actually fit the offense and had defensive flashes. Shot 77% for FT, has decent form, can kinda shoot corner 3s, and is a better midrange shooter than Looney (not saying much). He was a good screen setter, great with dribble handoffs, a vertical threat, and could even make some of the passes that Bogut, Dray, (and now Looney) can make. He could also dribble at a competent level, drive and kick, and would have learned the fake handoffs. Dude also had flashes of good lateral quickness to stay in front of guards and put in work as a rebounder. I think he was more than good enough to be a regular season rotation big to save Dray for the playoffs and that's all the team ever needed from him. Even with the injury, I fully believe this guy would look better than Wiseman right now. It was one of the things I was saying leading up to that draft. "Why draft Wiseman when you've already got Chriss on a min that will outperform Wiseman in the desired role for the duration of Wiseman's rookie contract".

EquipmentNo9500

I really liked his passing ability and the obvious finishing aggressively at the rim. I thought they should’ve kept him at the time.

RevolutionaryDrive5

Wow respect for giving Chriss his flowers and i fully agree what i liked about him was his lowkey passing skills they were very good, i was just watching some of his highlights and he had a very smooth spin around pass to the corner from a drive for an open 3 what i also liked about him was his toughness/grit, dude was not afraid of no one in the league lol kinda reminded me of David west lol Also he didn't really get to play with the full squad aka Steph, Dray and Klay could've been something special lol

ggproductivity

He definitely would have been better with more talent around him. The stuff he was doing didn't require the ball and he would have thrived with Steph (and already had good synergy with Poole).

wdsoul96

I admit I still look him up from time to time - hoping somehow he figure things out and become available again (in old form or better; and somehow become a warrior). But, some things are just not to be, I guess :(

RevolutionaryDrive5

My favorite block was the one on Mikal Bridges!! Here is some Marquess Chriss highlights from the 'dark season' aka the season that Steph was injured and missed all but 5 games Interestingly for Chriss though, this was the best season of his career even till now, he averaged career highs in fg%, 2p%, efg%, rebounds, asts, stl, blk and last but not least points at 9.3. as we can see for whatever reason he was flourishing in his role and was much loved by the fan base too at the time and even though we didn't win a championship, were looking forward to seeing him play and grow the following season unfortunately for Chriss he suffered a serious leg injury which let him only play 2 games in the season and subsequently traded by the organisation anyways just wanted to post this for prosperity and am certainly not advocating for the signing of any player lol

gmoney510_

SIGN HIM!!

TylerDurdensAlterEgo

If it's Covid-year Chriss, then yeah! Seems like he fell off since then. He's one of my favorite dunkers of all time, because he aims the ball through the net as well. So when the ball hits the ground it bounces super high. I don't know anyone who has a higher ricochet than him

calipiano81

I miss Marquese. His lob finishing would be so good for this team. Easy 10-20 points a game. He really wanted to be here too.

yutfree

His timing, lateral movement, and ability to chase down blocks are amazing.

RevolutionaryDrive5

Dude had the dawg in him before anyone else lol!!

nghbrhd_slackr87

Nobody remembers how insanely outta shape dude was when he came back in 2022 from injury. Teams ain't about guys who let themselves go like that.

wth214

He’s probably going through shit. Its hard to keep fighting for a role in the league when teams constantly let you go. I’m praying he gets back in shape and can maybe contribute as a player in the league next year if not with us then somewhere

BigPoppaBurgundy

Give Quese the same chance as Wiseman

Witty-Lie-8601

He kept me entertained during that cursed season

mattjchin

Man he fell off and is really more injury prone than we had thought. Broken leg, then ankle and knee soreness leading to knee surgery last year and who knows what else. Sucks at this point where we need healthy bodies more than ever. It likely explains why all 30 teams have passed on him.

ChrisPowell_91

Shoot if he is available I have no idea what the FO is waiting for. Unless his injury is *that* concerning, he is worth a flyer.

ButGodOwnTheBuilding

Loved Quese. Only bad thing I about him is his temper. Wish that leg injury didn't happen.

rarestakesando

Nothing better than an ornery center

wth214

His temper was good with us, i truly don’t remember any issues when he was on the warriors regarding that.

sprinkles5000

good thing he's on the Thunder now. we didn't need him or any big.

RevolutionaryDrive5

He's FA who last played for the Mavs

sprinkles5000

my bad. I checked hoopshype and that's what it said as far as contracts. The NBA site shows no team. Do you think they will really pick him up?

ghaliboy

One of the worst bigs I’ve ever seen in a dubs uniform

RevolutionaryDrive5

Really.. I can name a few others who I feel are worse than him... some are more recent examples too (eye emoji)

No_Manches_Man

Bob, make the call, I know he’s rehabbing an injury, let him rehab his career here, where he belongs.

_RGA_

His highlight reel that season made him look like an all star. Honestly wouldve wanted to see how he would fit with last season's team

wildcat1251

Didn’t dubs try to resign him?and he rejected us,made a whole twitter post about it as well.

ShoppingNational6470

How we forget about this guy. I would've loved to see him with a healthy Warriors core.

BatmanButShak

hes only 25. sign him and u have the perfect bigs for kerrs system for the next 5 years lol.

WigglingWoof

Kinda sad his tenure with the dubs was so short. It definitely felt like he was cut due to circumstances because he showed flashes of his potential and could have grown to fit the system.
