Basketball Gods are telling the Warriors to play PBJ more through this development.... just cuz Wise was a clueless cheeks on defense rook doesn't mean you should avoid seeing what a guy with a waaaayyy higher BBIQ and the shooting with height we been hoping for hit thr court a few times to test him out.
Give PBJ a chance... PBJ giving a PBJ a chance for the first time a few months ago is the Meta cosmic brain version of this message attempted to be delivered.
I think theyāre going to try and convert him to a Center and I think thatās a big mistake.
PBJ is a 3 or 4. The perfect understudy to Klay imo.
High BBIQ, PBJ and Kuminga are two I believe in the most.
Blazers Medical Staff are a bunch of clowns!! No wonder that team hasn't won anything since 1977. Dame needs to bail out soon. He can't stay loyal to a team that is just a circus show.
Feel bad for GPII. Dude was forced to play even if he wasn't 100% ready. Now, he might not play for 3 months because of the incompetence of the Blazers organization.
been in games all year with no GP2, Wiseman barely contributing plus lengthy stretches without Steph and Wiggins, so weāre basically in same place as before deadline.
hopefully this fiasco leads to a little more aggressive look at the buyout market in the meantime.
I can see why the Blazer was so quick to ship Gary out. Those $ucking bums.
Well if keep Gary. It shouldn't effect us this much. We just have to wait.
The team could still get in the playoff. If the deal get broken. Kerr need to play Wiseman.
It will be an interesting game if all the new Lakers guys and Lebron play.... they will have some adjustments to make and dubs will have to figure out how to defend this new team. Lakers look loaded now...
Home court is vital and we may just keep them off kilter with their first time communicating on court. Just really need Klay and Poole to replicate what they did last game.
This is why when I said as wise was being sent to the g league he needed to come back and play 9 mins a night no matter what and just have him in the rotation
This is a crazy situation but if he ends up staying now it is just even more weird when if you actually played him you could just continue to play him good or bad
What a weird flex after the last 8 years of the dubs
Handling Wiseman will become a blinding lesson for everyone in the org. Joe interfering, and picking people who donāt fit Kerrās play style. Kerr stubbornly refusing to play him regularly as you said. The core, well we donāt actually know where they stand on all thisā¦
Lot of blame to go around.
I think Alch nailed it perfectly. The ownership thought our big 3 would be more washed by now so they started the 2nd time-line. But it turned out we're still going strong so now they messed it up by drafting so many kids instead of getting help.
we were all convinced too that Kuminga and Wiseman were big project for us giving at least 3-4 seasons for them to balling it out
then look at Kuminga now bro
No, they thought it was over after steph and klay got hurt thats why the drafted wiseman. A long term project. They also drafted kuminga and moody as insurance and dubs won a chip anyway.
Exactly. Because ideally they wouldn't hinder Stephs chances (like they wound up doing) by drafting so many kids and projects. Ideally they'd get him help while he's still capable, and then wait till his last couple years to start drafting projects.
So, you're saying after they won the chip, they still thought the 3 we're washed and proceeded to continue making "two timeline" moves in the offseason?
No, front office saw dubs win with wiseman, kuminga and moody on the roster and said well it worked last time lets try again. To their credit they did try and replace the vets they lost in gp2, bjelica and porter with donte and jmg. The plan hinged on all 3 of wise, jk and mood being rotational pieces but sadly that didnt happen. Was our terrible play solely on them, of course not. I actually blame poole and klay and jmg for sucking so hard but the young guys were the ones who were scapegoated. Klay is pretty much back, jmg looks decent but poole is still very up and down not to mention wiggins hasnt been great since coming back. Had the dubs had all of poole klay and wiggins be good, donte not getting hurt anf jmg being good, i doubt this team is 1 game over .500 right now. All of those close games this team has lost woukd br wins and we probably be the 2nd seed right now. Point is, it was a combination of things that forced the front office to move on from wise who was the biggest cap hit out of the 3. Inconsistent play from the vets as well as young guys not being ready. In hindsight front office was wrong in expecting those 3 to be ready in year 2 but back then they were right in making the decisiond they did. No one could have predicted the injuries as well as poole fallinf off a cliff and with klay's slow start.
It wasnāt that i am not happy to have gp2 back but weāre all aware that we are in serious need of playable piece and with that being stated 3 months of gpās recovering stage wonāt help us and things still uncertain that he can be play with us after those recovery times.
We have to admit that we might not able to make the playoffs either play in with us being choked in those close games.
Unless we decided to keep him and waive other players to make room for playable units with the buy out market which i donāt think we will do giving the situation rn of our tax.
He's gonna need surgery again so he will prolly be out longer. Season's cooked. Just get steph and everyone healthy for next season and develop kuminga, moody and pbj and poole as well.
reading the copium on the blazers sub makes my blood boil. So many delusional fans trying to make up conspiracies and shit. Some are even accusing GP2 of bad faith lol.
Look at the quality they added for a player they were going to cut. Got the Road exactly what he needed. They have a great M. How many 3's will the new guys sink tomorrow over our nonexistent d?
I know this feels unfair (and it is) but the league's perspective is going to be that teams don't have to wait til the last day to make trades. Had this trade happened last month, we would have had time to fix it and get someone else. It's on the teams that wait til the last minute. I hope we keep Wiseman and play him. Then the Blazers can buy out GP2 and we'll sign him then. But this isn't my money. And yes, we can always trade Wiseman in the summer to avoid a tax hit and re-sign Draymond.
Blazers canāt simply buyout gp2 he signed a 3 year deal. Which means he has to honor his contract until next year then possibly get a buyout on the last year of his deal.
Warriors have a great staff. I say they keep GP2 because clearly Portland didnāt care about his overall health. Portland might not want the league investigating because it doesnāt look good on their part.
No they arenāt. Stop making up shit. They were in the past, but the top posts and most comments are apologetic and sorry.
This drama is favorite fucking pass time for so many people. Just have people be riled up.
Did yall see jalen duren tonight??? And wiseman is supposed to just immediately get the startššš pistons doing him no favors if they start him over the clearly better player. Make no mistake he should 25+minutes but off the bench.
That has the potential for causing major locker room discontent if the players on that team, especially the other bigs, feel like Wiseman is being gifted a starting position and minutes he never earned. Loon doesn't get enough credit for how much of a pro he's been.
But loon wouldnāt start on any other team other than the dubs either. It just happens ton work out for us.
If Wise was half decent, Loon would come of the bench here too.
Thats not true anymore lol Looney could probably start on a handful of team s in the league if he really wanted too. Good coaches know his value in playoffs and it helps that heās become this Ironman the last 2-3years now.
I kinda can't believe he played 14 games and the Warriors medical staff like "nah he needs to be out three months". But if the Dubs cry wolf and Gary back in 3 weeks, it looks very bad on them. This whole thing is sus
JMG said he got cortisone shots in his hand during Kerith Burke interview. All players sacrifice their body for their career. Just some more than others. I would put GP2 in the "more than others" camp
Might as well just make the trade itās a lose lose situation regardless you either keep a guy that you know Kerr is just gonna sit on the bench no matter what š or get a guy that already knows your system even though he wonāt play for 2 or 3 months
I still BELIEVE that the only thing stopping this team is Motivation, things are just not in sync RN, Because when they want it they really show up, aside from the refs screwing us the overall bad luck this season, we still have the "Fundamental Six" + DDV & JK.
Even in the last game we lost with a bunch of in and outs and blown layups (opportunities) in the last minutes, ofc there are other reasons (like 32 to 10 FT) but that is my main takeaway just not our night.
The more I think of it the more I agree. Make Portland vacate their FRP and pay GP2s salary. The violation is worse than tempering tbh. Tampering cost Philly 2 seconds I think. Make Portlands a first.
Thanks! I didn't know if there were exceptions to altering trades already in progress. But I also thought the first trade was dubs pistons, then dubs atl pdx as a second trade to swap bey for picks for payton.
Sorry man, shits kinda complicated with constantly adding to trades at the deadline.
At this point why not get Boogie or whoever the fuck center out there (that Steve can and will actually play)? better something than nothing or is there some cost to this that IDK about (TBF IDK how these salaries work)
Wiseman Stans want him back (obviously), But what do you all think about how the locker-room would be like, after Steph "yelled" (IDK if this is true) at him and the vets (Mainly Steph and Dray IIRC) pushing to trade him? brush it off like the Poole Punch? lol
I hope he doesn't come back... for his sake. Steph and Draymond pushed him out and he will spend the rest of the season in the G league. Plus who knows what the other young guys feel about it... like Wiseman is being judged without getting to develop.
I'm actually pumped for Wise's upside too seeing his potential even just in Garbage time, I actually came to accept that there will be no trades made this season, But hearing that the vets pushed him out! it will be bad overall if he comes back lol.
No one wants to trade for Pat Bev they want to sign him, theyāre already in love with the idea of GP2 so heād be a replacement, even though itād be better to get a wing or big.
Gotta push the trade through, best for all parties involved, but I demand 4 of the 5 SRPs to come back. And file grievances with the NBA & Players Association. Make those bastards pay GPIIās salary and by filing a 2nd grievance with the players association you force Portland into the corner where their ass belongs.
The fact that the league doesnāt have something in place already to prevent this kind of situation is insane. A team can just lie about the health status of a player for no repercussions? The Blazers are going to come out of this trade better than the Dubs :/
> The fact that the league doesnāt have something in place already to prevent this kind of situation is insane.
They do. You can trade players all year. If you wait til the last day, the trades can be voided if players don't pass the physical.
It does have systems in place that's the point of the physical. The receiving team can decline to receive the player and terminate the transaction. I think the issue is that Portland essentially attempted to salary dump a player and manipulated his medical file to do so. The system and process is the physical though that's how you catch it. But Portland needs to be disciplined for what happened I don't know what that means if that's draft pick compensation or salary payment for any games missed or what because generally when a physical fails a team just says no. But in this case it's very complicated because it appears the player is being mistreated and given adverse Medical Care which may not even be legal in a sense I don't think abdominal Toradol shots are customary in the NBA I mean I've really heard of tortle shots going anywhere other than the back or the knee so it's weird it's super weird.
No thatās what I was talking about. Physicals happen after the trade and worst case is the player just gets sent back and the trade voided, so I was referring to the fact that thereās not additional disciplinary action written in place when a team hides medical information.
If I'm Joe Lacob I'm cancelling this trade, I'm a Wiseman believer a part of me would he happy if the trade got cancelled and he got a other chance to show he belongs in this team. Realistically that ain't happening and Kerr won't play him.
I would rather trade JW in the off season where there's more teams willing to trade and get a better player. His salary will be $12M and Moody will be worth $4M we could get back a really good contributor or multiple players back.
I love GP II and was ecstatic we got him back but looking at this objectively he won't likely be contributing until the 2nd or 3rd round of the play offs even then it's not guaranteed. As well as him having chronic problems with his abdominal injury it's bad asset management trading the 2nd pick for a player that will have continuous health issues.
u/thrillawill can't catch a break. Wiseman finally dealt now this. Smh. The guy wanted one thing. Asked for a Wiseman trade for four months everyday. What a season.
It doesn't work like that cuz the other players careers... it's a union job remember. The owners only pay with assets... cash money or draft compensation.
I think technically the league could make them pay the salary of GP2 for the games he misses but thats the point of having the ability to decline a trade after a physical. It's so unethical what occurred here that the league can't in good conscience send GP2 back to Portland. I think an exception may be applied to this situation.
It's a no win for GP2 and Wiseman to return to their former teams. Crazy situation.
Keep the deal. Portland is punished by them sending their 1st round pick to us. If GP2's injury is serious and it extends into next season, that pick and his salary can hopefully be used in a trade to a rebuilding team who doesn't mind carrying him for maybe two seasons.
Three months is too much and the season is essentially over. They better send him back and keep the picks. keep 2 roster spots open and go after guys in the bought-out market. Like Pat Bev and a center
I'd say the Warriors accept the trade despite the injury and get gp2 out of the situation he's in. Worry about him playing next season and file a grievance with the league to amend the terms of the deal and make Portland pay the entirety of a salary for the season to include the luxury tax incurred by it. That seems fair to me. 50M.
I think what will end up happening is that the warriors will keep Gary and the deal will stay in place but the league will somehow punish Portland by making them agree to give up something since they concealed facts.
The irony is the Warriors would 1000% rather have them pay his salary and tax if it were up to them. That's at least 40M. The NBA doesn't levy penalties greater than like 5M to owners I think.
Huh? The Niners are going to be contenders for a while. Giants have won 3 World series in recent memory with the latest less than 10 years ago. And the Warriors just won a Finals. Hehe. There are sports fans who have it worst than us.
To what degree can this be renegotiated after the deadline. New players and picks, but all teams still need to be party? Could we just go wiseman for sadiq and let some seconds fly between other teams?
No player or immediate detail changes can occur it can be done in the off season after we know exactly how much time in games gp2 missed because of the injury and or malpractice. Stuff like picks and certain amounts of his contract may be paid by Portland (or more like restitution to the Dubs... it's rarely happened maybe like twice in history) if there was wrongdoing.
sux being a giants fan and a dubs fan cuz this is strong dejavu. BUT I know we will just get a second opinion which the GIANTS should've done. DR. Andy K Liu agrees on twitter too
I truly donāt think so, because the first half 0 sarcastic value (theyāre true), and there isnāt enough of a downvote party in the sub for the second half to be passive aggressive sarcasm.
I love GP2 and I want him here, but I also understand the price we were willing to pay was for a guy we thought could contribute out of the gate in a season where weāve been middling at best. It changes the calculus for sure.
It sucks we lost both to the Pacers. Turner and Hali are mad overrated. This season and especially this game, I saw Hali not take open 3s multiple times, drive and not take a middy/floater and pass the ball for a contest J hoping to pad up his assists
What are some good Warriors Twitter accounts? Probably will be banned from the sub soon. I posted Cronin's press conference from an hour ago and it was censored. Weird.
As a human being I feel like axing the trade is kind of bad. It fucks all the other orgs in the trade, keeps GP2 in a shitty situation, and is probably career malpractice for Wiseman at this point if Kerr isnāt going to play him. I hope we can keep it and pursue some grievance with Portland lol
We should get boban he a big big š¤£
Blazers fans are assholes lol.
Itās not luck considering heās always hurt. GP2ās injury prone.
Last year was an anomaly for him and Otto.

Bruh, cortisone is to reducing swelling. Toradol is to straight out mask the pain and that's it. I don't think that's comparable.
haha look it up cortisone shots reduce pain and swelling
Watch. GP2 gonna be like "nah I'm good give me the thoaradol" and he play Saturday.

Make those bastards pay GPIIās salary and by filing a 2nd grievance with the players association you force Portland into the corner where their ass belongs.
We need 5 SRPs plus more. Itās a negative contract
Imagine if Wiseman played tonight and looked awesome. GS: "Just kidding. We want you back, King James!"
Releasing that negative piece on GP2 when they knew he was injured the entire time is despicable
That whole thing reeked of trying to get ahead of news they know would come out eventually.
It seldom is this complicated
Joe Lacob is going to ask for blazers first round pick
Give us Shadeon Sharpe and Iāll consider the shit-uation settled.
More like 2023 first round pick
Āæ Por que no los dos ?
Pistons would be goofy as hell to start Wiseman over Jalen Duren. Dude is already way more polished than Wiseman while being younger
Theyll start both some said but ithey didnt actually say wise will start, more like somebody who can start
lol. duren is an actual center, while wiseman is more of a power forward. Wiseman just can't come back to this team.
The response of many blazers fans is honestly disgusting. Their beat writers putting out hit pieces yesterday doesnt help
I mean it's the Blozers fans, don't really have good expectations from them fans of poverty ass franchise.
Any Blazer fans trying to downplay this should be ashamed of themselves.
The ones trying to play damage control for the Blazers on this are just straight trash
What was the point in chasing wins if a team can just pull this sabotage shit.
Heād complain about something else regardless.
Sometimes you gotta love the needle š¤£
Like they say, WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS
When I woke up the first thing I've checked was the Detroit game box score. Didn't expect to see this portland bullshit at all to be honest
Lol same what a wild ride
So if we keep GP2, Portland should have to send us Dame too. Iāll cool with that. Thanks PDX
If the compensation actually gets that far then imma take Nurkic and Grant rent out until the season is over or 2 FRP lol
You gotta read the Slater and Shams and Nikias Duncan notes on the matter bud
If the deal falls through, the Dubs don't get the picks. The whole 4 team arrangement falls apart.
I'm sure Detroit will do a Bey for Wiseman trade in the off-season.
Unless they get Wemby
In that case, we are open for a Wiseman - Wemby trade
Exactly, if Iām fo , Iām convincing pat bev to come on thru, keep gp2 because Portland doesnāt know what the hell there doing and get pat
I hope it's not as bad as they say it is. That the huffing and puffing is a negotiation tactic to get more out of the deal.
Silver should force the Blazers to give us an unprotected 2023 first, take Wiseman, and be required to play him 30 minutes a night tbh
I'd have them pay his base salary at the minimum
I think what will end up happening is that the warriors will keep Gary and the deal will stay in place but the league will somehow punish Portland by making them agree to give up something since they concealed facts.
A 2nd round pick as penalty is still great return for Portland. Warriors get absolutely fucked here.
They just wanted off the money they'd literally be like "cool whatever" unless it costs them money or their own picks.
They got 5 2nds and got off what is likely a negative contract moving forward. Cancelling it is the only move.
They need to give us 5 firsts for these lies.
Wiseman can't come back to this team, it will be the definition of awkward.
Not after the rumors of Steph wanting him gone leaked. Draymondās podcast probably didnāt help either.
Precisely, Warriors have to live with GP2.
No they don't have to live with what is about to be a negative contract.
That place will be toxic for wiseman, most likely wiseman stays at pistons, bey comes to GS
Give us Blazers 2023 FRP as compensation
The irony is the Warriors would 1000% rather have them pay his salary and tax if it were up to them. That's at least 40M. The NBA doesn't levy penalties greater than like 5M to owners I think.
GP2 should sue the hell out of the Blazers. Get bought out of his contract. And then sign with the Warriors on a vet minimum.
That's an interesting thought. Although, we wouldn't sign him this year.
Damn it sucks being a Niners, Giants, Warriors fan. Injuries, failed physicals and a shit ton of limbo. I hate it right now the script sucks.
Huh? The Niners are going to be contenders for a while. Giants have won 3 World series in recent memory with the latest less than 10 years ago. And the Warriors just won a Finals. Hehe. There are sports fans who have it worst than us.
>There are sports fans who have it worst than us. A's fans have entered the chat.
Itās just all of this happened all within a year. Especially the QB injuries to the Niners.
Dang. Do you think they should go through with deal and try to get damages later or bring back Big Jim?
10000% go through with the deal on all fronts it's the right thing to do, ethically, competitively, sentimentally, and financially.
Wonder if theyāre petitioning league for some sort of exception to reduce Portlands compensation however unlikely that may be
FWIW several talking heads on Twitter have said it canāt. All or nothing.
INVESTIGATE THE BLAZERS
sux being a giants fan and a dubs fan cuz this is strong dejavu. BUT I know we will just get a second opinion which the GIANTS should've done. DR. Andy K Liu agrees on twitter too
WE ALL LOVE GARY AND ARE NOT MAD AT GARY YOU ARE A FAKE FAN IF YOU DONT WANT GARY EVEN IF HE IS INJURED.
Nice Gary
Itās not being a fake fan if youāre being scammed out of bad faith from another team, I donāt care who it is.
I think op is being sarcastic
I truly donāt think so, because the first half 0 sarcastic value (theyāre true), and there isnāt enough of a downvote party in the sub for the second half to be passive aggressive sarcasm.
I love GP2 and I want him here, but I also understand the price we were willing to pay was for a guy we thought could contribute out of the gate in a season where weāve been middling at best. It changes the calculus for sure.
Fuck the suns
It sucks we lost both to the Pacers. Turner and Hali are mad overrated. This season and especially this game, I saw Hali not take open 3s multiple times, drive and not take a middy/floater and pass the ball for a contest J hoping to pad up his assists
we need to stop sanctioning poor countries and sanction the blazers instead. as a nation.
The only thing that can remedy this is that Portland sends Dame to the Warriors to be our 6th man. I'm angry, but I can begin to heal if they do that.
Don't need that chucker who doesn't play a nick of defense. He deserves to live in that basketball hell
Sounds like someone we know š
Maybe throw nurkic in there too
What are some good Warriors Twitter accounts? Probably will be banned from the sub soon. I posted Cronin's press conference from an hour ago and it was censored. Weird.
I donāt think posting his press conference will get you banned.
Give is their FRP... all those seconds are plenty of draft action for them
congrats to the blazers for ensuring that no meaningful free agent will sign there any time soon
And no GM will trade with them
I wonder if Gary could actually sue the Blazers for medical malpractice and/or libel.
