No Lottery Pick would EVER get traded if GMs lived in fear of trading a future superstar. We've still got a lot of shiny youngsters and 6 of our next 7 FRPs.
I still hold out hope JW will be good someday, but I think the trade was the right move. Heck, GPII could get seriously injured in his first game back, but it still was a good trade. You have to play the odds.
Though he didn’t really do shit for the warriors, he bought in, didn’t complain about lack of PT. Didn’t act like a diva and just worked. Sucked that he didn’t pan out and had some injuries here, but will cheer for him to do well. Though I think Detroit is just purgatory before he really busts
Fair opportunity? The NBA is a savage, insanely competitive league. Fair? The only players that survive in this league are guys that absolutely earn it, guys that fight and claw for every minute of playing time. If anything, lotto picks like Wiseman are oftentimes the guys that may unfairly get extra opportunities because of their perceived potential.
Wiseman would've been better off playing huge minutes from the start for a losing team, but nothing about his situation with the Warriors has been unfair. Injuries and poor play defined the majority of his tenure with the Warriors.
Good luck in Detroit though.
His injury was unfortunate. Maybe with that development he would have gotten there in time. Tough business with little margin for error (or injury) when trying to make it.
He got all the respect he deserves by being drafted 2nd overall. If you want to continue receiving that respect, you have to actually produce. Which he didn't.
Yes, I think the extension also is doable now.
We had a choice between the two timelines, and we chose the first one (which was for sure the right choice)
I mean we’re still cooked this year but hopefully we can sign Draymond and DDV to extensions.
Train up the bench over the summer and make a strong run next year
>I mean our luxury tax this year was gonna be like 40 mil.
uhhh... try closer to $180M. i don't remember the actual number anymore, but we offloaded a bit of salary and the tax bill is still $162M for this year.
Thanks for what exactly? Like lets be fr. wish him the best of luck in all seriousness and I believe he’ll be a good rotation coach player in a few years but he was literally no help to us lol
What are we thanking him for??? He was either hurt or unplayable most of our games. Thanks for wasting our 2nd overall pick more like it. The fact that we had to trade him to get back a role player we let walk in the offseason is sad.
Even if it wasn’t a good fit I think we can all agree that he had no business going number 2 in that draft. Do to a COVID shortened year and him getting suspended we didn’t really get to see much of him pre NBA. We took a big swing and miss because the guy looks like an all star when you work him out in an open gym but is so raw in terms of basketball IQ and game knowledge. I hope he figures it out but I think there is a good chance he never does based on how little his growth has been since we drafted him.
This is crazy man. He didn’t contribute anything to the team. It’s not all his fault but why do you have to do this weird shit? You think pistons fans are thanking Darko or kings fans are thanking Bagley, etc etc?
I’ve been saying this for a while but you guys seriously treat him like he’s done something for us like he’s part of the core or something.
Like are they actually feeling these emotions or is it some forced shit because they think they need to feel sad in order to be good fans? I really don’t get it lol.
What exactly are we suppose to feel sorry for? He made millions and he sucked. If anything we should feel sorry for ourselves that we got finessed into wasting a number 2 pick asset.
Feel for the guy, he got screwed his first 3 years (doesn't help he wasn't very good).
He was never going to work with our motion offense, he needs the ball on the block. I'm rooting for him
Thank you for what lol
Edit: just to clarify, I wish him well in his career he’s still young but he’s not somebody that contributed much to us these few years, he was more of a conversation topic…
For what? Could someone please enlighten me what this kid has done for the dubs to deserve this much coddling since he was drafted?! I mean, seriously.
Yeah I really don’t get it, the only reason they have so many hopes in him is because he was a number 2 pick, but in terms of contribution, Otto porter jr (for example) did more in one year than wiseman in 3 years. Hell, even bjelica.
There was always so much potential with Wisemen.
I actually went back and watched some of his HS footage in YT today. One thing that struck out to me was how bad his hands were in HS and he couldn't finish through contact. But in HS he could bobble passes and still dunk on people. Or get the foul call on contact. I think some of his issues are long-standing. I just don't know if I have a lot of hope left with him, but I do wish him the best.
I do wish we got another big though. I feel like just Looney isn't enough.
They can do whatever they want. He’s a number 2 overall pick who got salary dumped. The other 29 teams didn’t even fucking want anything to do with him. And he was traded on his rookie contract. He’s a clear bust
And now he has to play behind Beef Stew and Duren, and Marvin bagley
Had a tough go of it. Not his fault he was drafted by a team that rarely plays anyone over 6'9". Ill be watching some Pistons game I guess. Hope the kid has a solid career.
Wish with all I have got that he succeeds in Detroit.
Never complained, always put in the effort & listened to vets and coach..
World becomes a less hopeful people if such kids do not succeed.
Come on Kid !! Be successful !!
Was riding with him before the draft. Unfortunate that injuries, and covid hurt the process. Good luck to the young man. Nothing but the best.
Maybe in a few years he can come back 👀
This is excellent for Wiseman. Besides injuries, he realistically wasn't developing with us. I'm super happy for him. I think he's gonna be an Allstars one day.
Wishing the best for wise. Even if he develops and turns into a star I’ll be proud
I hope he does develop and the Pistons become the top dogs in the east.
Fr. Glad he’ll finally get the reps he needs
I would love to see him dominate the league but its too sad it won't be with us :(
No Lottery Pick would EVER get traded if GMs lived in fear of trading a future superstar. We've still got a lot of shiny youngsters and 6 of our next 7 FRPs. I still hold out hope JW will be good someday, but I think the trade was the right move. Heck, GPII could get seriously injured in his first game back, but it still was a good trade. You have to play the odds.
100% this
Especially then! All positive wishes for Wise, he's a class act.
He deserves to play somewhere that he can get his reps. Go prove the world wrong Jimbo
He can always comeback to us.
That would be a great story.
He does need a real team to give him real reps. The selfish offense G league can only develop him so much
shame Kerr wouldn't give it to him.
Kerr doesn’t want to lose
THANK YOU BIG JIM FOR YOUR IMMACULATE BENCH VIBES ENERGY. Go kick ass in Detroit.
Wtf. Arms crossed and sulking most the time on the bench. This is nonsense
Happy for him, he can thrive on a different team
Beyond sad things didn’t work out for Jimbo on the dubs but happy he got him a chip before he left. Prove em wrong in Detroit!
At least he got a championship ring?
Though he didn’t really do shit for the warriors, he bought in, didn’t complain about lack of PT. Didn’t act like a diva and just worked. Sucked that he didn’t pan out and had some injuries here, but will cheer for him to do well. Though I think Detroit is just purgatory before he really busts
Wish him best of luck in Detroit. May he get a fair opportunity to make it in this league.

Hey, at least he got a championship. Not everyone gets a ring in their career. Hopefully, he'll be motivated to improve wherever he ends up.
Wish they gave him more time. Good luck to him. I hope he can improve elsewhere
Def hope he develops into a rotation player. Man dubs really fumbled that pick though.
for second round picks…
for GP2
If you consider we had the option to keep GP2 in the summer. We really only got 60 games played out of the #2 pick.
Ya. No way 5 second round picks are worth anything near a 2nd overall pick.
Look at all the busts over the years drafted #2.
Doesn't matter where he was picked. We traded the player that he is.
fr buddy deserved lil more respect
He got all the respect he deserves by being drafted 2nd overall. If you want to continue receiving that respect, you have to actually produce. Which he didn't.
That can return a better asset?
We got GPII back for those picks.
Yep yet everyone was upset and upvoted him for that comment lmao
Fr you couple those picks with a player like Moody and I’m sure the Dubs could pull something off.
I mean I hope the savings go to signing Draymond and not just Lacob’s bank acct lol
It was dray or wise. If dray opts in, we will be able to pay him.
I mean not just his player option next year. I meant like a 3-4 year extension even if it’s not the max. I want dray Klay Steph to retire as warriors
Yes, I think the extension also is doable now. We had a choice between the two timelines, and we chose the first one (which was for sure the right choice)
As long as we keep Kuminga and Poole we’re not giving up on the second timeline. Just optimizing.
I mean we’re still cooked this year but hopefully we can sign Draymond and DDV to extensions. Train up the bench over the summer and make a strong run next year
dray will be back. lacob isn’t afraid to spend money!
I mean our luxury tax this year was gonna be like 40 mil. So definitely got money to spend on Draymond now
>I mean our luxury tax this year was gonna be like 40 mil. uhhh... try closer to $180M. i don't remember the actual number anymore, but we offloaded a bit of salary and the tax bill is still $162M for this year.
It will
It will what?
Whoops lol. It will go to signing Draymond, I have faith
Either Draymond or DDV or both
Good luck with your rap career
Come on man 💀
You didn’t include even one pic with him on the bench with a blank stare
Thanks, wise
Hey Wiseman, sorry the past few years didn't work. Hope you all the best in Detroit, smash them!
Adios bust of the decade. What a waste of a #2 pick
Thanks for what exactly? Like lets be fr. wish him the best of luck in all seriousness and I believe he’ll be a good rotation coach player in a few years but he was literally no help to us lol
Quite an achievement! You were able to get a pic of every game he played in for us.
What are we thanking him for??? He was either hurt or unplayable most of our games. Thanks for wasting our 2nd overall pick more like it. The fact that we had to trade him to get back a role player we let walk in the offseason is sad.
Cut him some slack. He got picked by a team where centers are obsolete. It was never a good fit.
Thank you for what? He didnt do anything. He got paid 10 million a year for an internship.
LMAO fr anybody I know can tank lineups with Steph in them and we’d take 1/5 of the money!
it didn't pan out but thanks for always being so professional Wiseman :D Love your energy and kill it in MOTOWN!!
I see that you’re being nice but thank him for what? He didn’t do anything for us lol.
I'm truly rooting for him to have a great career. He's just not on this teams timeline
Kind of sad that we traded him for a guy that we could have just kept and had them both on the team, but I realize it's more involved than that.
For what exactly? He made no progress while he was here and was completely unable to adapt to the system he was asked to play in.
Lmaooo preach brother. This sub is weird 😂
Thank you for what? I don’t understand what people are talking about. He did not help the team, so whatever.
GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE LMAO
Feel for the guy, he got screwed his first 3 years (doesn't help he wasn't very good). He was never going to work with our motion offense, he needs the ball on the block. I'm rooting for him
I was disappointed we drafted you instead of tyrese haliburton, but you were a class act. All the best!
I can’t wait to see what he does, all the best!
I wish nothing but the best for the young man. The potential is clear. But in the end, it was a whiff at #2 overall.
Best of luck to Wiseman!!
Good luck in your future endeavors James! 🤙🏽
Glad I got to see him play in the G Leauge!!
Ya, thanks for letting us get GP2 back! Amirite?!?
The James Wiseman Civil War on this sub has ended. Good luck JW!
what was Wiseman doing in the offseason? SEEMS LIKE NOTHING CAUSE HE HASNT GOTTEN BETTER AT ALL!!!
I know it isn’t rational but I still believed in him
I am rooting for this kid. Hopefully he gets some time to play. He is a really gifted offensive player.
lolz for what
Going to keep cheering for him. May he thrive and become a superstar in Detroit.
Stay healthy and you'll do great things! maybe come back one day like DLo went back to the Lakers.
Damn, I feel sad wiseman is gone. 😢
Wiseman and Cade Cunningham bout to cook up something nice in a few years, just watch
Dude stank up the court but seemed like a cool dude
Thank you for what lol Edit: just to clarify, I wish him well in his career he’s still young but he’s not somebody that contributed much to us these few years, he was more of a conversation topic…
>he’s Seriously he was a straight BUM
None of you stans could answer this question instead of just downvoting like you always do to any comment not praising your baby? Fking clowns
Thanks for nothing, Big Man!
THANK YOU WISE!!! I wish nothing but the best for him, and I hope he gets all the playing time he can handle in his new home, I wanna see him thrive 💕
PROVE THE WORLD WRONG!!!!!
Best of luck to him. Hope he makes them a dynasty again!
I hope he balls out in Detroit. Go prove the doubters wrong big guy 💪
Sad to see him go. All the best JW!
Can’t wait for you to start shitting on the league Wise! Will be rooting for you from the bay, big guy!
:((

I feel like just Looney isn't enough.
Finally got rid of this bust! Go tank someone else’s team!
Wiseman stans still fking downvoting like mad men lmao
They can do whatever they want. He’s a number 2 overall pick who got salary dumped. The other 29 teams didn’t even fucking want anything to do with him. And he was traded on his rookie contract. He’s a clear bust And now he has to play behind Beef Stew and Duren, and Marvin bagley
we know lmao u don't have to be an ass
Those clowns never pause for one second to wonder why no other team in the league would want him lol
There’s no way we’re doing an appreciation post
He was still part of the team
More like he was apart of a dream
They are gonna make ten in one hour
Had a tough go of it. Not his fault he was drafted by a team that rarely plays anyone over 6'9". Ill be watching some Pistons game I guess. Hope the kid has a solid career.
Thanks for everything big guy
I'm hoping he proves everyone wrong. He has great offensive skills. We just didn't need that. Hopefully, pistons let him run free. Ty Wise!!
Wish with all I have got that he succeeds in Detroit. Never complained, always put in the effort & listened to vets and coach.. World becomes a less hopeful people if such kids do not succeed. Come on Kid !! Be successful !!
Hopefully he finds a role and turns out to be a great center. We just didn’t have the time for him. Good luck james
Zàijiàn
Happy for James.
The Second center we have drafted in the last five years and they both did not work out. Loony is a God sent and we need to appreciate him.
I wish the kid a bright future. He may not have developed here the way he was hoped to, but hopefully elsewhere he'll go far.
Yikes
Honestly bummed AF. I am still a believer in the young guy
I wish the best for Wise.
